If you need a quick bite to eat and some amazing coffee this place is quite good! They have some fairly decent microwave burritos and fresh pastries, but the coffee is phenomenal. The service was quick and professional, and the ambience is basically a cute stucco coffee hut. My only notes would be to engage a bit more in conversation instead of just trying to get me out the door as quick as possible. read more

Cafe au Lait is so nice and convenient as its nearby my work! i went for first time last week and got a fall drink, it was super tasty and worth the price for size i got! This week i got another drink and wasn't sure on which brand to do and they were so nice to give a recommendation, As well can ask for light ice, sweetener etc and it makes it well worth the $- the Baristas always say hi when you come up to the window and give recommendations if you're unsure! :,) read more

Things to consider....first there are no prices posted on their menu, and it just feels awkward to ask how much a coffee costs...I have really liked their coffee but sadly I will not be going back. I ordered a 16 oz egg nog latte and 2 tiny cookies and it cost me a shocking $11.00. That is just never going to happen to me again. read more

Cute little coffee shop by Target. I got a blended white pumpkin and Fall pie chai and paid 17.29 for two drinks. We drove off and my husband found a hair in his drink . Luckily we weren't far so we came back they kindly made us a new drink and gave him a free drink token for next time. I feel like drinks tastes alright, I feel like I have had better coffee. I needed a coffee for my drive to Seatac. I couldn't see the menu to to it being night time but it wasn't an issue! The woman working asked me to describe what I wanted and made it absolutely perfect!! She was so sweet with amazing service!! I wish I remembered her name: pretty brunette working closing shift on a Thursday. I will come back to that shop next time I'm in Olympia!! read more

Saturday morning, about to set out on a long drive up to Mount Saint Helens. Needing my morning coffee and everything I found in the are was Starbucks. Not what I was hoping for. Passed the target and cruised through the parking lot to find this little gem back there. Staff was friendly and she was able to make me a drink. But, the coffee was not good. I'm not sure where they get their grounds but the flavor was burnt and unappetizing. read more

I think the batista are concerned more about talking to friends than serving coffee. First in line behind a car where the girl was outside her car constantly chatting with the worker without amy drink served. Waited 10 minutes and was out of there. Rude and unprofessional, especially at their prices. Will never return. read more

If I could give no stars I would! To start off, the barista doesn't wear her mask barely at all, I'm immune compromised so that matters to me. I Ordered my coffee around 6:45 (24oz hot vanilla/hazelnut latte with almond milk). When I got to work and tried my drink.. it was sour SOUR. I thought for sure it was dairy milk, which.. I'm allergic to but I had my boyfriend drink it and he has been puking and nauseous all day.. so I was literally served rancid almond milk and forced to pay for it and expected to drink it??? Tried calling this location many times and even reached out on Facebook for them to read it and not reply. Horrible service and horrible coffee. I won't be returning, I'd rather go to Starbucks! read more

We stopped in here when my sister was in town and were greeted by some friendly baristas. This is a small drive through located in the Capital mall parking lot area and is dangerously close to home! Service was very friendly and they were patient as we checked over the menu and asked questions about what flavors of syrups they had available. The iced coffees they made us were wonderful and we enjoyed them so much I had to stop back by there later last week. The coconut and white iced coffee they made was a real treat and I indulged in its delicious flavors. Both times I've been by here they've procured our coffees for us quickly and efficiently. Flavors were on point and the order accurate. Prices are reasonable and we appreciate the friendly service. We will undoubtedly be back for a coffee fix soon. read more

Witnessed a blonde, long-haired, able-bodied, bespectacled employee verbally assault a disabled woman when confronted about parking in the off-loading area of a disabled parking spot without a handicap plaquard. I heard the blonde employee shout that she was dropping something off at her work but it's been half an hour and she is just working. Shocking behavior to witness. read more

Came here for a quick coffee before work. The 2 girls working were super chipper and very friendly. I ordered a peppermint mocha which is not overly sweet and really good! The dame blonde girl everyone negatively talking about are true. Drove right up to the window, she didnt bother to say "Hello" or "what would you like". Waited for her to say something as I was thinking she was still doing something and gave her the respect to finish it...but she wasnt. No customer service. And on top of this she didnt even give back my bf's debit card which created a cascading effect on out bills being put on hold or charged a late fee. Coffee is alright. Nothing special. read more

I got completely lied to buy the owner because her employee said I received my free drinks the day I came to get them when. I had already purchased 2 drinks because the barista couldn't get ahold of the owner. I love 29 seconds away and spend $120 a week at your stand and until this is resolved I will be writing truthful horrible review that are the truth and warning other customers to find a new star most employees make great coffee but it's not worth getting lied to ans called a liar as well as broken promises. read more

This is my favorite coffee stand in the Olympia area! Great coffee and super friendly customer service. I worked at Nordstrom for twelve years where we strive for the BEST customer service so my standards are pretty high and these girls always meet my expectations! I have to say that I have had zero negative experiences here. The ladies are always friendly and the drinks are amazing. They know what I want when I pull up, and are always fast to get it. I'd say I get a drink here once every couple weeks. I'm a barista and I'm on this side of town a lot, I'm used to drinking a lot of coffee so it's not rare for me to get more than 1 coffee a day. There's only 1 employee I've found here that makes my drink correctly, and me being a barista can tell you my drink is not hard. I feel like no matter what you tell the employee they just do whatever the f*ck they want with your drink! Every lotus I've had is flat, doesn't have enough flavor and really doesn't do the product justice, if I was lotus energy I'd remove my product from their store. Every coffee drink I've gotten is never mixed fully, powder still in the bottom of the cup and the lack of ice in ICED drinks is jaw dropping! Like I said, I'm a barista, full time and a consistent $2 tipper so I'm spending almost $10 at this stand every time but I always drive away unsatisfied and unhappy with my coffee. Always end up dumping it out after I drive away, a few weeks ago was the last time I went and I won't be returning. Another side note, I've heard the worst things in the community about this stand. So many people say horrible things about the owners! And if anyone else has noticed, they go through employees like crazy... wonder why... read more

I frequent this coffee stand at least a few times a month and have had mostly good experiences. I think they do great unique blended fancy drinks, better than Starbucks. The baked goods I've had have been fresh about half the time, stale the other half. The vast majority of the time the staff are friendly and prompt. read more

Every drink I have had, has been great! My favorite is the iced vanilla chai. They have a rewards program as well so make sure to enter your number in each time you purchase a drink. Unfortunately customer service here is a hit or miss depending on what barista is working. Also I find the prices very inconsistent which is a bit odd.... I would personally use cash over card here just to be safe since sometimes they do not give you your receipt to sign which has the option to tip. Overall 3.5 stars (rounded to 4). If they improve on their customer service and be more consistent with their prices I will up the stars. read more

Stopped by for a cup of coffee on Saturday. While Target and Jo Anne Fabrics were both packed full of holiday shoppers, there wasn't a line for a quick espresso at Cafe Au Lait (located somewhere in the middle of the two.) Tasty looking cookies and other baked goods. The coffee was pretty fine and hit the spot for about the average price. They have a punch card that I turned down. Debit cards are fine with them, so fine, in fact, that they charge you a fee to use them. A nice stop if you pass by or are in the midst of some shoppin', but there's no reason to seek this place out. read more

I have not ordered coffee at this location, only red bull italian sodas and their waffles on a stick. The food is good. But it takes too long for a coffee stand. There are too many things cluttering the windows and the Baristas are RUDE. I've only been three times. 2 out of the 3, they got the flavor wrong and did not ask me if I wanted cream or orange juice. It also just tasted like red bull. If that's all I wanted, I would have gone to the gas station down the road. read more

Cafe Au Lait was established in 2001. We have been serving Olympia Espresso based drinks for 14 years. In 2010 we won Best in Biz. In 2012 we won Best of King 5 for "Best Coffeehouse" in Olympia.

Debbie has a Master's in the arts of Counseling and was a Guardian Ad Litem for Thurston County Courts for 5 years. Having a passion for creative endeavours led her to find an outlet in coffee.

The employees were clean and exceptionally friendly and attentive. And most importantly - the food was soooo good!! I had the veggie wrap grilled (because I'm in an endless search for good vegetarian food to eat on the go) and omg was it good. I did feel that I had a little boost of energy after consuming and my appetite was curbed by the meal replacement shake. I would be interested in coming back to try out more flavors.

I stop by this coffee stand due to convenience on my way to work in the mornings. I always get the same drink mostly from the same girl, and there is literally no flavor. I am not even asking for less of the flavor. If I am going to pay 5 to 7 dollars for my drink I expect it to taste good. The girls are fairly friendly so I keep coming back but I seem to not have this problem in the afternoons or weekends. About a year ago I would have given a much better review. It's disappointing but I will probably skip my morning coffee and start making it at home or showing up later in the day. It seems that the barista's with less experience are working in the mornings during the week maybe I'm wrong? read more

If I could give this place "Zero" stars I would. I was second inline and waited over 10 minutes. Then I realized they were talking to their friend and gave them no coffee or anything. There was another person behind me waiting. Horrible customer service. After their friend drove off I took off too. I am not giving my money, and I tip well, to poor service. Don't go to this place. Oh and this took place yesterday in case the owner wants to talk to their employees. Or if it was the owner you won't be in business much longer with service like this. read more

Cafe Au Lait is one of the best coffee stands in Olympia... and I'm not just saying this becuase my aunt and cousin work there. :) The baristas are super friendly and make the best drinks. I honestly would say that the location is not the best for a coffee stand but it is THE place for a good latte or americano. Auriel and Jannelle are the bomb at making a caramel frappe. And they use the most sanitary products and enviroment. 1 out of 10 they get a 25. Top of the line. :) read more

5 months ago I switched from the national chains to cafe au lait. I am always impressed how all the people/ employees have a sense of positive and upbeat ownership. I know every time I stop there I can buy a great drink, meal and dessert for breakfast, lunch or dinner. My only request, make more cafe au laits along the I-5 and I-90 corridor. read more

I love this coffee stand. They have the best hemp milk lattes, plus they are the only stand in the area I have been able to find hemp milk. The service is always great, all of the girls are really friendly and I know that I can expect my drink to be the way I order it every single time. It is really hit and miss with this place. I want to like it so bad because it is in a convenient location, especially since I shop at Target and JoAnns frequelty. I don't like that they charge 50 cents to use my card, but I understand small business need to pay their bills too. Just wish it didn't have to be passed on to their customers. read more

The location in the parking lot is a little cramped, someone zoomed around me while I was waiting for my lotus. I tried my drink and it just wasn't very good, she may have done the sour gummy worm flavor, which I'm not sure if that was sugar free or not. I glanced at their menu before hand and I can see that they carry just about everything I've seen every other coffee stand around here carries, so I wouldn't say they are very original. Overall, between the service, taste, and location I'm probably not gonna come back even though it's the closest one to me, which is disappointing.
