What an experience! Today was my first visit to a DutchBros establishment and the experience was AMAZING. This coffee shop is a new location in Terrell, TX. I am not sure if they give free year incentives for being the first number served. I started seeing people gather before the opening day. I would have loved to be one of the recipients. Nonetheless, the line was looped onto the highway on opening day which appears to have been one day before my experience; therefore, I decided to be the early bird on a Saturday morning and to no surprise I got the "worm" (figuratively speaking). I was the first customer of the day. I pulled up to two energetic employees who were ready to serve me. I was asked, "Is this your first time with us?" I responded, "Yes." I was then offered a pocket size menu (see pic) and questions were asked to help guide my decision. I decided on a hot, medium size, caramelizer. I was then directed to the window to pick up my order. The friendliness continued. Super kind crew. I recommend if you are considering giving them a try, which I recommend to any coffee drinker, to download the Dutch Bros app in advance. This will allow you to begin collecting points on your order from day one. There is an area (if you could find a parking space) where you can go up to a standing window to place an order. There is not much ambiance because this place appears to be a come and go type of establishment for enthusiastic coffee lovers. I did not observe a menu with food. All of the drinks here are customized to your liken. Therefore, get up early if you don't want to wait, or enjoy the wait while you ponder your coffee selection but give them a try.

I really like the coffee, but I was surprised with the price of a large container to serve 12 people. Just not as cheap as Starbucks.

Mobile ordered from parking spot and I will say, they were quick in making our drinks. Sadly, paid $7 for flat hot milk with a token bit of foam on top (definitely it was not a cappuccino) but, well, I can't blame the barista who probably wasn't properly trained in the art of steaming milk and of course I know better than to expect that anymore. Sigh. Unisex bathrooms fine (paper towels no hand dryer) except my husband's didn't lock and a guy walked in on him and then practically tried to break in to my bathroom (did apologize when I walked out.) Would love to see every Starbucks change out all of their locks with the ones that show "occupied/unoccupied" and I'm sure the employees would love it too! We were greeted with a hello and the same barista bid us farewell too which was nice. Really no problems here, but nothing spectacular either. My hot espresso milk did end up tasting quite good.

They've even expanded beyond Texas to places like Tennessee and Northern Virginia. Everything is kept clean, especially the bathrooms. This particular location is on the smaller side, so I can't even imagine how huge the larger locations are. There's a wide variety of souvenirs from apparel and home goods to even pet items. Towards the back, you'll find a deli, a wall of specialty beef jerky, tons of snacks, plus brisket sandwiches and desserts, including fudge. We ended up spending a good amount of time here before getting back on the road. You can sample the jerky. I really liked the Honey Jalapeño and Maple Cherry (on the sweeter side). It's close to the highway with easy access. There's a hundred gas pumps. There are multiple entrances to the store. Even at 1pm on a weekday, it was BUSY! Inside, there's that Buc-ee's smell that hits you hard. Candied nuts and fresh brisket. And all the other stuff you can see - jerky and fudge and soda fountains and Icees and a wall of candy. It's practically a ritual. Of course, we had to stop to visit the restrooms. Mrs. K. confirmed that the ladies side was excellent and I could see that the men's side was clean. I love the red/green lights to let you know which stalls are available or not. In addition to the fridge magnet, Mrs. K. added a BUC-EE'S ballcap to the collection along with two bags of the caramel drizzled Beaver Nuggets. Friendly service and everything else about it, just the way it is everywhere else. Awesome. [Review 404 of 2026 - 713 in Texas - 25587 overall]

The shop smells like pure happiness--warm chocolate, pistachios, and all the good things in life. Their Strawberry Dubai Chocolate Cup is the standout: rich, silky chocolate paired with bright, luxurious strawberry flavor. It tastes like a tiny, decadent getaway in every bite. But what really sets this location apart is how thoughtful they are about all their customers--four‑legged ones included. They even make edible milk‑bone-style treats for dogs, crafted from ingredients pups can safely enjoy. It's adorable, unexpected, and honestly such a charming touch. The store is always clean and inviting, the staff is friendly and patient, and the whole experience feels personal and fun. My daughter and I were very saddened about this entire ordeal. The manager stood back and looked as the young lady made up an excuse to not honor something they claimed to offer. Now it clearly stated that I could have 1 apple with any 1 nuts that were listed, for $5. They refused to honor it although I only ordered a caramel pecan apple, that's one nut. I gave up and me and my daughter left. I would never go back to that one again. The one in Mansfield and the one in Rockwall is much better. The one in Terrell is deceiving and dishonest. I would not send anyone there. It clearly says "Today and Tomorrow only, get any Caramel & Nut Apple for $5.00! Choose from Almonds, Peanuts, Pecans, Walnuts or Mixed Nuts!!" They email this to me July 1st and I went July 2nd. Clearly I was still in the date range. That ruin everything for me with that location. The past owners were so kind and sweet.

And whenever we take a drive like that, we make it our mission to find a highly rated local lunch spot. This one was on the way home and looked promising, so in we went. I will say this for Texas. Onion rings are everywhere here, far more than when I lived in California. I will happily take that as a win, because the heat for about nine months of the year is not my jam. Sadly, the onion rings were not listed as one of the many sides (so we couldn't get them as a side with our meal), but we ordered them as an appetizer ($8.99 I think) with blue cheese dressing. I am not a ranch girlie, and I stand by that choice. The blue cheese had huge chunks in it, which makes me think it might be house made (bonus point!). Now, the rings. I am firmly Team "Battered" Onion Ring over Team "Breaded", and these absolutely delivered on the team battered. They were almost chicken-fried, -- super craggly, crispy, and deeply satisfying. These were the star of the meal, so do yourself a favor and order them - but you need a friend to share them with, its a heavy portion. They also have great lunch specials, most around eleven dollars. I got the pot roast with two sides, refried beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. After indulging in the onion rings, I was not exactly starving, so I ended up with enough leftovers for another full meal. The pot roast was nicely shredded and tender, and the gravy was rich, flavorful, and worth every calorie. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, (he's obviously on a diet!), with fried okra and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was forgettable, but everything else on his plate was solid. Service was friendly and efficient, and this place definitely fills up at lunch, so plan accordingly. A very good roadside stop, and proof that sometimes the best meals happen when you are just out running errands.
