Had a connection flight at AMS, so my husband and I stopped in for some breakfast at Dutch Kitchen. It was morning, so there weren't many places open for dinning. The experience was just ok, I guess it's considered decent for airport food. The restaurant is cafeteria-style, with a limited selection. For two orders of mini pancakes, bacon and a tiny coffee, it costs a little over 20 bucks. The food was ok, not worth what we paid. We got a voucher from the airport for a delayed flight so we ended up choosing this place to eat. We ended up getting a 14 euro basic omelette and wow I was surprised how basic it was. It came with the omelette and two untoasted pieces of bread with butter. The flavors were okay but the untoasted bread was just so bland. It was one of the few foods I actually couldn't finish since it had no flavor. This place was okay. Most of the menu seemed to be very carb heavy. I got a pancake (crepe looking thing) and had to pay an extra 1€ for Nutella on the side. The crepe was not bad, a bit thicker than what I'm used to back in the States but I liked it. The chocolate croissant was okay, a bit small. Croquettes were not bad, had gravy in the middle. They only give you two plus a piece of bread so it wasn't super filling and a bit carb heavy. read more

It's airport food that does the job in a pinch when you're in this area of the airport and/or your flight leaves from a gate nearby. It's kind of challenging to navigate, due to crowds of people when it's busy. I ordered from the hot counter where you can get burgers. I got croquettes. You order from them and they give you a receipt and a pager and you go to the counter to pay for it. They want you to find a seat and wait until the pager goes off to pick up the food instead of crowding the counter but that's what everyone was doing anyway. There are many places to sit but also somehow not enough. This food location also has hot and cold drinks, as well as snacks. If everyone in your party wants something different, Dutch Kitchen is the way to go, even if the people flow is somewhat chaotic. read more

On our way out of Amsterdam, we wanted one more round of poffertjes and were delighted to see Dutch Kitchen as we were passing between terminals. It took me a moment to figure out how the flow worked but once I ordered, they directed me to the cashier (cafeteria style essentially) and I was great from there. Ordered the dozen mini pancakes "poffertjes" and bacon. I should have requested crispy bacon. Some was crisp, others were soft. (See picture). The pancakes were fluffy-ish. Overpriced and mediocre food... But airport food as always is a bit overpriced so no surprise there. Came at breakfast time and their breakfast menu displayed outside of the restaurant shows items ranging from €7 to €15; however, at the counter they also have sandwiches that are more full, lunch meals and are only €5-6. I got the Dutch pancakes (crepes to those from the US) and these were nice and thick (but of course not as thick as an American pancake). You add your own powdered sugar and syrup. €7.45. Medium cappuccino was €4.30 and tasted absolutely awful. The ham and sun-dried sandwich was decent if you can stomach a full sandwich for breakfast. €5.95. Food came quick so it was nice for a sit down meal but don't expect much. read more

It's been a while since we traveled internationally due to the pandemic, but after coming from La (10 hour flight and 9 hour time difference) I was craving breakfast in the morning. Weird since it's 12am where I came from but oh well... in comes Dutch Kitchen! We walked around for a bit and eventually I smelled bacon and omelets, and I was like yes this is it. We ordered: - 2x omelets - Mini Pancakes Loved the mini pancakes. The omelets were okay, but expected and good enough to fill our craving. Cheaper than LaX airport, but still expensive for what it was. Airports The service was ok- but maybe culturally different. Self service restaurant. Get a big thin pancake and watch how your stomach thanks yoy for loving it. Watching the creation of omelets with all the fixins was like watching an artist at work. He was quick, efficient and knew the choreography of the magical concoctions that can transform a raw egg into a satisfying breakfast. Also has other grilled items and fresh juice. read more

If you have to. This place is not a restaurant. It is your worst option in Schiphol. I feel genuinely bad for the staff, as some seem to be giving their full effort. This is undermined by universally bad food and poor organization. I observed at least 3 people who did not receive their orders, or received the incorrect orders. I requested a refund for the bacon on my omlette which was refused because the cashier who took my order was on break- thus unable to give refunds. Understandable. I can live with losing two euros. What really bothers me is the lone cook on the grill working hard with no support, feedback or guidance. The food may or may not be crap for you, but the manager for sure is. Rant over. read more

I spent nearly $20 American dollars for a ham/bacon omelette with a side of hash browned potato triangles, an apple crumb dessert and a TINY 6oz Landgoed De Olmenhorst Perensap fruit drink that was terribly expensive (which I didn't know until I looked at my receipt). While the omelette was unique, it took a little doctoring with salt & pepper to bring it to taste. I was surprised the taste didn't match the wonderful smell. The potatoes were also bland and greasy, but the crumb apple thingy was pretty good. Not sure if it was worth the money, but definitely a must try for a first-time European experience. ... THE EXPERIENCE The store was open kitchen with a cute and clean decor. The lines were a little confusing as you must order and pay at separate counters. It took longer to receive my order than I expected considering it wasn't very crowded. The staff was also not particularly warm or friendly. Maybe it was because I was an American and several of the cooks taking my order didn't seem to speak much English, or at the very least seemed confused by my requests. I found their lackadaisical demeanor to be a bit odd, but I was still determined to have a good experience considering I'd never been across the pond before! ... THE VERDICT I'd probably give Dutch Kitchen another try if I were in the airport for a layover again, but only if I couldn't find a different restaurant with a more appealing menu. Now, with a little experience I know to ask for a little salt & pepper while the omelette is in the cooking stages. I doubt that I would order the Perensap juice drink again. We sat in the bar area for a drink and I would describe it as perfectly a-ok - I had a glass of rosé which was nice, and the chairs are comfy. Staff are friendly and you can pay by card which was handy as we didn't have any Euros. Would I rush back? No, but if I was in lounge 2 at the airport again I'd definitely pop in here for a drink or two. It's right near the casino if you're into that kind of thing. read more

Staff were arguing and left half my order sitting there for 20 minutes while preparing my partners food. I asked for some of the food to be redone so it could be warm. Staffed refused and said they were closing at 2 in the afternoon!!!!! I got a hamburger and then asked for ketchup or mayonnaise for the fries and was promptly told this was an extra cost. One staff asked what I was waiting for and told her the rest of my order but the first part was cold - she quickly walked away without saying anything. Airports can be hard to find a decent meal but this place is horrible. Nothing like watching one staff member having a temper tantrum throwing things and yelling in the kitchen dropping F-bombs while you wait for your food. read more

Had an early afternoon flight so this appeared to be an ok place to eat so ordered an omelette. My wife ordered a burger. You are given an electronic device that lights up when the food is ready so you pay then wait. While waiting we noticed omelette was served in a baguette- no mention of that on the menu! The food was picked up and we were told we could have some salad to go with the omelette as they couldn't say if the chips were coated with flour. The salad choice consisted of 5 things with some very poor under used dressings. Overall an extremely poor place to eat of you need gf or even vegetarian. However up near gates d6-8 there is a place called market fresh and the salad bar looked good although no omelette, but probably be a nicer place to eat Cost was 32€ inc 2 coffees so for a captive market it was not so bad. read more

Other than the Schiphol airport, I've never actually been to the Netherlands. So, I can't really speak with authority about "authentic" Dutch food. That being said, this place appeared to be the best choice for food in the airport for a real Dutch meal. They have a TON of different Dutch offerings from breakfast to dinner, all prepared fresh in front of you when you order. The food takes a little while to make (waited about 15 minutes total), so don't expect a quick bite to eat, but the portions and quality are good. If you find yourself on a longish layover, but don't have enough time to take the train into the city, head over here to grab yourself a tasty meal! read more

Grabbed a burger and fries here whilst waiting for our plane home. It was priced as you can expect for an airport, a little on the pricey side but we didn't mind. Burger was tasty, fries were cold. A nice small selection of salad was available to pick your own to have with your meal. read more

Morning flight, pancakes sounds good! But not in this place. They're extremely expensive, food was cold and it took them 35 minutes to make a pancake. The menu said Pancake With Nutella, but there was no Nutella left. I strongly advise everyone to go somewhere else, because this place is a waste of time and money. read more
