Day 2 mid afternoon rolled around (no Sears update)--came across Cupo Appliance Repair's number on-line. Called to see if I could establish a back-up plan. Immediately was connected to a human being (Joe) who was not only knowledgeable in what likely was the issue with our dryer, but had the parts on hand (OMG, right?), was able to provide an estimate of costs, and said you will have a working dryer by the end of the day (insert the sound of angels singing). We then scheduled service for 4 p.m. Called Joe back to confirm Sears cancelled again and shortly Joe was on his way to our home. Dryer was fixed in no time flat, he even helped us with a cabinet door. Joe is courteous, professional, knowledgeable, had the dryer up and running quickly, offered service at a reasonable price, and I highly recommend contacting him when you are in need of an appliance repair. The fridge and the freezer were both keeping the appropriate temperature, but the control panel was not functioning. I tried holding the lock button for 15 seconds, 30 seconds, it wouldn't do anything. I looked up repairs and everything that came up seemed to be part of a large network. I did call, gave information and was told I'd receive a call back from a technician. I did receive a call, from Angi's List. They said they schedule the techs, asked what was wrong, and then told me the service call would be $453 - which would include the repair. They didn't know what the repair would be however or IF it could in fact be repaired. I felt this was price gouging to the extreme and did not schedule a tech. I Googled again and this time, TJ's Appliance came up. The website showed it would close at 5:00pm on Friday, and it was 4:57pm so I had 3 minutes. I called. Tom answered, walked me through a few things to get it to work, took about 10 minutes of HIS precious time. When it didn't work, he told me I should call Samsung directly and perhaps they could walk me through the process. He told me he doesn't service my area - YET, he opted to help me. We hung up and I made a note to call Samsung on Monday. I then went to the fridge to start dinner prep. I opened the fridge and the control panel was lit up and working perfectly. The sequence Tom gave me apparently took a few minutes to reset. I immediately called him back to thank him. It was after 5 but he did pick up. I thanked him profusely and told him if he ever did work in my area, I'd certainly call him for any and all my appliance issues. He did what most would not. He HELPED me. He took his precious time on a Friday afternoon, at closing time, to HELP ME, and his help WORKED. These are the types of people I like to work with, people who opt to help others because they can, not based on price, or time, just because they know you need help. I'll gladly pay for his services and would encourage anyone who needs appliance repair to call TJ's Appliance. I was informed that the part was not available, yet I was pressured into agreeing to a visit on Tuesday. Despite my explicit indication that I would call back when I was available, your team continued to call me, disregarding my schedule. Today, which is Thursday your driver showed up unannounced and rang my doorbell while I was not home. My son answered the door and was confronted with a threat from the driver, stating that if I did not pay, a lien would be placed on our house. This intimidation tactic is completely unacceptable. I called and spoke with Bernie, who further escalated the situation by threatening legal action. ( "See you in Court and I will put a lien on your house ") Such behavior is not only unprofessional but manipulative. A copy of this has already been sent to my attorney and to Bosch as these people should be removed from their list of recommended service provider, anyone who uses these people be very prepared to deal with this type of nonsence .
