He found several possible reasons for the issues. His recommendation was to start with the most inexpensive fix first to see if that corrected the issue. So, he replaced the door switches. It worked! No more slamming the door to get ice! Just so you know the other solution was to replace the entire door which would have cost $1200. He suggestion to start with the most inexpensive solution first saved me $1000! Michael was knowledgeable about the product and potential issues and honest in his recommendations. BANKS' VACUUM - Small business with a BAD ATTITUDE!…read more I have purchased a vacuum and have been bringing my vacuums to Banks' Vacuum for maintenance and repairs for years. Even after I moved to Texas, I have brought them my business each time I return to the area. I called them last week and told the wife that I'd like to bring my Dyson in for repair on Monday, but that I would need it back by Friday. She mentioned her son (the Dyson repairer) had a tantrum and quit the business" but was "hoping he'd be back by Monday after a 2 week cooling off period. If not, her husband would be doing the repairs." When I dropped it off, I again explained to her husband that I understood that they may not be able to accommodate...but if it couldn't be done by Friday then they couldn't do it...as I would need to head back to Texas. Clearly customer loyalty is not appreciated by this small business. The wife was incredibly sarcastic both over the phone and in person when I tried to check the status. In the store, the husband told me that he "special ordered the part and I would have to pay for it"...even though it was not due in until next Wed. I told him that I had said before bringing in and at drop off that I HAD to have the vacuum back by TODAY! He disappeared in a huff to the back and his wife never came back to the front...so I signaled for my sister to come into the store in case things got worse. He returned a few minutes later w/ the vacuum and broken parts...and proceeded to walk outside. He practically threw it into the trunk and then turned and told me "don't ever come into my store again". I told him "oh, I assure you...I won't! And I'll make sure no one else does either". I canNOT believe how I was just treated!! I can't believe they actually think I somehow wronged them! Do NOT support these ungrateful, rude small business owners!!
