So, I haven't been to the farm or the farm store to comment. That sounds ominous, per the other reviews. Gave me pause. Nope, still gonna write this. Every summer this farm puts a truck trailer loaded with corn on the highway between Hillsboro and Cornelius. It's only there a couple of weeks, then GONE till next summer. People call this, "the good corn". I hear about it all the time.From clients, coworkers, gas station attendants... it's a curious weird Hillsboro thing. There are a lot of those, trust me. Ahem. For seven years I've driven right by it. I usually don't have cash or I am in a hurry. Plus, the crowd sometimes looks sketchy. Today though, I had my family in tow and a few bucks,we were having a somewhat boring errand day, so we stopped. Braved the sketchy crowd. $1 for 4 ears. We bought eight. Now, I know how to roast, grill, barbecue, cook in milk,cook in it's husk in the oven a la Tyler Florence, etc. etc. But sheesh, our a/c is out. I ain't doing none of that heat up our house crap. I shucked the suckers, microwaved them, wrapped in wet paper towels, eight minutes for four ears on a plate. Buttered it like my grampa, you slather the piece of bread with unsalted butter ( Tillamook today), and then wrap it around the corn. Works great. Salt, pepper, done. Seriously, the best corn I have ever eaten. Sweet, juicy, goodness. Hurry up, go get some. It's gone in a flash.All those sketchy people (like me) snap it all up! read more

I've been Peach picking many places over the past 30 years but this was by far the best!

We stumbled upon this farm last summer when looking for a place to pick cherries. We love this place! They have so many different things to pick. For example, yesterday there were blueberries, Marionberries, raspberries, blackberries, corn, apples, peaches, plums, figs...and more! You could literally spend a whole day here. There are shaded areas to have a picnic, and lots of animals for the kiddos to look at - chickens, geese, pigs, bunnies, kittens, and more. The farm is family owned and has been running for many years. I've always had very pleasant experiences with the staff there, and enjoy supporting local. Will definitely be back again soon! read more

Kinda creepy, backwoodsy, very little regard for animal welfare. Not an attractive property and it's been this way forever. For a place that's been in operation for decades, open for the public to wander around, it's shocking that they don't have a clue how appalling it is to have dead and dying animals out in the open. Shocked that more people aren't bothered. Makes me disgusted to think about what the public ISN'T seeing. Sure, the corn has a great reputation, but I wouldn't support this business based on the obvious animal cruelty. Even when I bought corn from the roadside truck between Hillsboro and Cornelius, the guy was trying to get rid of some kittens. I frequented Duyck's one summer several years back and was NOT impressed with any of my experiences, and actively tell people to avoid this place if they're looking for a good farm and farm store. They have good corn, I won't deny that. But for me it's not worth everything that goes with it. The owner- I'm assuming- was rude and didn't respect personal space, would get in your face and be borderline hostile. He brings up seriously hot-button politics when you're just trying to check out the farm or ask about the produce, and won't relent even if you make it clear that's not what you're here for. He commented on "how tight" a friend of mine's (a minor at the time) pants were, and got upset when she called him out for it. The pigs were in the hottest barn I've ever been in, with nasty floors and cages and water troughs that were growing gross green muck. They had two kittens in a kennel that looked on death's door, with water bowls that had a similar green and black muck growing in it. There were dead chicks in their heated chick area, and they looked like they'd been there a while. None of the animals looked happy or well cared for. read more

The extra star is for the excellent corn. We stopped here mid-day on a whim and ended up purchasing several ears of corn. The staff we encountered were rude, unhelpful, and unwelcoming. The facility is cluttered, dirty, and unorganized (including the actual store). Prices were not posted and staff seemed irritated at being "bothered." Although I not return due to the way we were treated by staff, I highly recommend the corn if a person doesn't mind the other issues. read more

Look wise, the place needs major improvement. It's just a big collection of rusted farm stuff. They could really use some major signs to direct you which way to go, in order for you to pick. They don't always explain it clearly where to find the patches. If you get past this, you will like this place. People are friendly. Their U pick produce are good & prices are reasonable. read more

No Covid safety, I feel violated by how close the owner came to talk to me and how loudly he was talking. Now I am scared that a regular trip to do something fairly safe for covid times could turn deadly for me and my family. He didnt want to wear a mask, fine, but then he kept coming less than 2 feet away and talking to me , acting like COVID doesn't even exist. I kept moving away and he kept coming closer at first. It seems like later he might have gotten the idea so he stayed back . the farm is not maintained at all but that doesnt bother me. STAY AWAY for your safety till covid passes read more

I've been going to this farm stand for years, being a family friend. These people put their endure lives work into tending to this farm and the people visiting the farm. It's unfortunate if no one is at the stand when you arrive but let me give you some advice, try again another day, these people have lives outside of tending to you 24/7. And if someone hurt your feelings about COVID-19, too bad, it's not your home, you don't have to be there. As for the animals, they are perfectly happy and healthy, I've been visiting this farm since I was a little kid and have seen nothing short of excellent care for them. Overall I've seen way too many negative reviews for this farm store, I have never heard of anyone being anything short of helpful for anyone who wants to buy produce, or even just visit. read more

Found this place after a disappointing experience with Columbia. Man was friendly and gave us help getting started. Had so much fun picking cherries and berries and looking at the small animals. The only complaint I have is the toilet which was a portapotty. Would have been nice after traveling to have a decent toilet. read more

Produce was fresh, but there wasn't a lot of it. I was expecting large bins to pick from (since I went in the middle of the season), but was met with a small lean-to with a fridge containing a few small containers of fruits and some veggies. Purchased 10lbs of tilton apriots which were of good quality and quite ripe (perfect for canning) and picked up a pint jar of honey. Overall the produce was good, yet the drive and lack of abundance would keep me from returning. read more

Accommodating to our crazy toddler who loves animals (they certainly have a lot!) We also love the variety of fruit and enjoy walking down the rows tasting different raspberries or cherries... (we tack on an extra tip for what we ate). We've been many times and will keep coming for the experience and reasonable prices. read more

We tried to go there today to pick raspberries. We arrived around 9:10 AM. Their website says they are open at 9AM. I called their phone number to ensure that they would indeed be open because, ya know, sometimes farmers can be busy. I got a recording saying they would be open. All the signs on the road said they were open so we drive into what we think is the parking lot (there's no indication really where to park). We get out of the car but can't locate anyone. There's a big house there but no one was around so we walk up what we think is the driveway and find a barn along the side of the house where they have their prices listed, a weighing pan and a cooler. There were a group of men hanging out on some picnic tables so we asked them if they were there for the u-pick. It turns out they were actually workers there to pick and still waiting for the employer to arrive! At this point we were kind of bewildered on what to do so we wandered back to the car, called their phone number to see if maybe they changed their recording and they were closed that day (no change). We saw where the raspberry rows were so we went to take a gander and I gotta say, their rows were not all that well kept compared to other farms in the area. The plants were not trained well and they spilled over into the walkway areas and the plants didn't look all that healthy themselves. After waiting 15 minutes we decided not to wait around. I didn't see any animals around so can't speak to how the animals were. I wasn't impressed by all the farm relics that were overgrown with weeds all around the property. Maybe some people like that kind of kitchy-ness to their berry picking experience but to me it just indicates a lack of effort to keep your farm clean. If you're looking for a better raspberry picking experience you can get more varieties for $0.50 cheaper/lb at Rowell Bros. without all the old, rusty machinery and dilapidated, depressing buildings. read more

First visit there was today! We just went bc my girls wanted to see animals, and we ended up picking some plums and peaches! We we're looking for strawberries but after a walk we decided not keep looking. Nice place to enjoy a few hours. But they should definitely have more signs on we're specific fruits are so ppl don't have to be wandering around for what they want. Animals look in good condition. read more

I am wondering if the people who are saying the animals were well treated went into the barns. Trish did you go into any barns? The animals outside looked fine but the ones inside the barns were close to death! There was green slime where there should be fresh water, the mom pigs were in gestation crates, the bunnies cages looked like they had never been cleaned (ever!) and there were dead bird legs in with birds in cages. I'll try and upload the pictures i took. If someone goes more recently please let us know how the conditions of the barns are. read more

My family started coming here for u-pick walnuts about two or three years ago, and we now make regular trips here for walnuts every fall. The prices are pretty fair, and the experience of picking your own food is, of course, pretty fun. My only issue with this farm is that one of the farm stand tenders (I say "tender" because I'm not sure if this person is an owner or just an employee) in particular has a pretty sour attitude, and was rather rude to my family on our last trip here. read more

My family went to the farm to pick raspberries this weekend. The workers were friendly and pointed us in the right direction for the best berries. The berries were plentiful and better tasting I've ever had! My husband loved the antique equipment displayed all over. My kids were delighted by all the critters: ducks/ducklings, horses, chickens/chicks, goats, bunnies, pigs/piglets, even a peacock! There was a nice large grassy area in the shade with picnic tables where we could enjoy the "fruits of our labor." We are already planning our next trip for blueberries and blackberries! read more

Great place to pick berries. I only got raspberries so I can't say anything about the other crops. The raspberries were amazing. I went near the end of the season and there was still tons. I easily picked 10 lbs in a hour and a half. The berries were huge. Almost strawberry sized. Staff was very friendly. The animals looked well cared for and happy. I don't know what others are talking about them being sick or uncared for. They provided buckets to pick berries with and cardboard trays to bring them home in. I just brought my own bowls to bring them home - one less thing to throw away later. I would highly reccomend this farm. I plan to return in the fall for nuts and pumpkins!! read more

Do not make a trip to this place. It is not like the website says it is!! I don't know where they got the pictures on the website, but it looks nothing like it. I called ahead of time to see if they had peaches and they said yes. I made the trip out and was there at 9am when they said they open and there was no one there. I waited and a girl showed up. We asked whether we could bring our dog into the rows with us and were totally willing to just buy some pre-picked produce if they refused. We were initially told it would be no problem as long as we kept the dog on a leash (which of course we would do!). Another person told us we must keep our dog on the leash or they would shoot it! She gave some ridiculous excuse that 'once the dog had a taste for blood (she assumed it would immediately kill a chicken) it would be for our own good'. I realize that shooting a dog on their property is probably totally within their right, but I will not return based on that attitude. This farm is not pet friendly! read more

Had to hike quite a bit to find picking peaches. Very small produce and not as ready for picking as they told me. I noticed rot spots on the ripened peaches on the trees. After hauling my heavy buckets back, (no carts) to have them weighed, I asked if my peaches would rot before ripening as well. I was told they wouldn't, but they did rot. All that work, travel and money for nothing. And yes, the animals are NOT cared for. The horses looked to have eye infections and were matted. The barn smelled so bad we couldn't go near it. There were cats that were almost kittens fighting non-stop to mate. Obviously they don't get their animals spayed or neutered. I wish I had never gone to the place. read more
