I love peaches even more after going to Grossen Peaches. My family and I enjoyed hand picking delicious and juicy peaches. My son liked roaming around the farm. We ended up getting ten pounds of Canadian Harmony and Starfire peaches. I can't forget the lovely aroma of the freshly picked peaches. It was 5 star friendly service from the entrance to checkout. They answered all our questions as first timers. They provided boxes with wagons available. They told us the row numbers of the available peaches. There is also a board after the entrance that listed the row numbers and peach varieties. Check their website first before going to confirm if they are open because hours may vary. It appears to be updated daily. When I checked in the morning, it showed the hours for that day were 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. It helped us plan our day as we decided to arrive sooner than later as the parking lot filled up. We are now going to include peach picking as part of our annual summer activities. read more

We didn't want to miss the season again so we came on a bright Tuesday morning around 9am. It's just past Helvatia Tavern (a must-visit if you come to pick around lunch time) and in the same turn off as Roloff Farm. Parking can get filled up quickly but everyone was so friendly and helpful with tips about picking and the locations of the different varieties. The young man in the golf cart made sure me and my toddler were on the right path and also checked on and chatted with other people too. When we went there were Red Star, Vivid, and Starfire so we went around and picked a few of each. Check out was easy peasy with their scale and they also had local products and picked peaches ready for purchase. The young ladies at check-in were so nice and helped take pictures of us by their "Just Peachy" sign and put my wagon back for me (since I had my toddler with me and am also very pregnant lol). The service is amazing here, turned out to be a fun family activity, and of course the peaches were juicy and sweet. The season is short so please go and get your peaches and support this local business! read more

Great orchard--easy to get to, especially if you live on the west side! They provide boxes, and have carts available to pull your haul. $2/lb, they accept credit cards. The peaches are beautiful and delicious. And the trees are short, no ladders They're really good about updating their website daily regarding whether they're open and what varieties are available. I'm almost don't want to post this because this is such a hidden gem of a place!! The people are friendly, it's such a nice farm with spread out areas to pick, not too big not too small, and it is a fantastic spot. Call ahead and listen to the voicemail message that they always update, they're not usually open on Saturday's but today they were and it was great :) The peaches are so juicy and delicious with a number of varieties!! We went on the first day of U pick opening. The red haven peaches are our favorite. We didn't get there till 1:30 pm and the trees were bare. We were lucky a lady showed us 2 trees that still had plenty of red haven peaches left. Peach season is short so go early and grab as much you as can. We are planning another trip this Friday but sounds like there aren't many peaches left by this weekend. read more

This peach farm has been my favorite for years. A few years back they didn't open to the public, and i was (just a little) heart broken. However, I always check it out around August, and am glad they started to open to the public again. They have different types of peaches. All are healthy looking and delicious. The farm is quite large, so sometimes the owner will give you a ride (in his speedy golf cart) if it's not busy. I was able to pick 1.5 boxes of peaches within 20 minutes in a Saturday morning, which I am thankful to avoid hauling peaches under the hot summer sun. Also, you can sign up for their newsletter to keep up with their schedule and fruit availability. I find it really helpful, and am always looking forward to see the "peach alert" in my inbox. The best part is, the newsletter will let you know the pricing so there will be no guessing game. Overall, I'd highly recommend Grossen Peaches farm. This place was a sanctuary during the steamy summer of 2021, and I see myself coming back every year. First off, they had a mask requirement despite every yokel within 50 miles yelling "Ya don't need masks outside!" All of the tough guys with lift-kit trucks turn into dainty little doilies when you put a piece of cloth on their face for a few minutes. They'd last 10 seconds in medicine. Secondly, they've figured out how to reel in the locals: Keep the per-pound prices at WinCo rates or lower while charging a premium for Helvetia Cider. It's hard to think of the cash crop as a loss leader, but I grew up around the Hudson River Valley apple farms long enough to know that the u-pick crops bring in the people, but the jugs of cider and bottles of wine keep the lights on. We left with about 25 pounds of peaches and a four-pack of cider (get that bulk discount). Those peaches may freeze and go into pie and yogurt for moths, I don't plan on having any of that cider left when I fly back to Boston for the last time on Saturday. I wouldn't go so far as to say Grossen is THE reason I'm moving out this way, but it's made a strong argument. read more

What a wonderful farm and experience! My first time here on July 25, and my family enjoyed harvesting peaches. Even the check in/check out experience was well done. These are the best peaches I have had in a long, long time. Cute and delicious U-Pick peach farm in Hillsboro! They are open Monday to Saturday, 9 AM-5 PM at $1.75 per pound. We picked about 36 peaches and it came out to $38ish. They have boxes for free and wagons for you to borrow, but if you bring your own boxes make sure to get them weighed beforehand. read more

Beautiful property. Grossen Peaches is a u-pick farm in Helvetia. I used to live just around the corner from this place. It is also notably next door to the Roloff Farm. However, I was recently here for a wedding. The venue is excellent. The ceremony was placed near a small man made lake with gazing views of the property. As for the reception, we were whisked away towards the barn headed up hill where multiple tables were placed. It certainly had a country feel. The weather could not have been more perfect. The farm dog "Buddy" was wandering and was certainly friendly. Food was set up in the barn itself. A stand-up bar, dance floor, and assorted tables were set up everywhere. The view was grand and made for a wonderful evening. read more

What a great little place. Signs were posted for the U-pick making it easy to find. Parking was in the grass next to the peach trees. They had a stand outside with already picked peaches and people to show you where to pick (and give you tips on how, if you haven't before). The best peaches around! Nothing like what you would get at the store. The season here is very short, so watch for it and go!! U-pick season can change a little every year with the weather and with the season being so short - the best way to know when Grosssen has opened their U-pick season is to like their facebook page. They post when the peaches are ready for picking and about when they will be done so you can plan your trip out there. read more

Just damn good peaches. We went late in the season and still managed to find some amazing veteran peaches. The staff is friendly. It's a pretty typical little farm. We didn't find out about this place until a week before they closed for the season. Took a visit there and oh my, there were plentiful amount of peaches everywhere you go. Don't have to walk far, it's literally right next to the parking lot. It took us only 10 minutes to fill up two boxes full of peaches. They were so sweet and juicy. Grossen Peaches is a u-pick peach farm just outside of Hillsboro. What I like about it the most is ease of the entire experience from the travel to get there, to the travel back with my load of peaches. Other awesome things include: 1. A great variety of peaches available. 2. Very accurate and easy to determine which peaches you can pick when on their website. 3. The website is loaded with information on each of the peach kinds available and how to pick for the novice picker. Remember to bring cash or your checkbook. If you forget, it is okay too. Helvetia Tavern is just down the road and has an ATM. The trip may also give you a little deja-vu if you were a fan of "Little People, Big World" because it does drive you just a little farther down the road from the Roloff Farm. This was my first time visiting the Grossen Peach Farm and I have to say I was quite impressed. The staff was knowledgable and helpful and showed us the correct picking technique as I had never picked before. And the peaches were to die for! The farm itself was beautiful. I had heard rumors that some couples had chosen the Grossen Farm to host their wedding and I can see why. The farm overlooks several acres of orchard and a grass pasture complete with a pond and a short golf hole. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be visiting again in the near future and I highly reccomend it. read more
