We had our transmission rebuilt at this shop. We based our decision on its good reviews…read more Their communication is sparse. We had to call every few days to get an update or we would hear nothing. We finally got the car back after about 2 1/2 weeks. It seemed to run fine. After a few months, however, we were still having transmission issues and were provided diagnostic codes when we took it to a near by auto part store. Fine. It's under warranty. We take the car back to the shop. Our vehicle sat at the shop for legitimately 1.5 weeks with little to no calls or updates. We finally retrieved our car without our warranty repairs as we were given excuses about how short staffed they were and how someone had jury duty, blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile, we're renting cars, taking Lyfts, Ubers, etc... all while the car is just sitting there. Simply said, this shop does not honor their warranty or at least not with any urgency at all. If you have 100 years to wait.. then maybe your experience could be different.

I shopped everywhere for transmission service, only wanting the best since our 2012 Lexus LS 460 that was used to the pampering it received from the Lexus dealership service departments. So when we decided that a transmission replacement was the way to go I found High-Tech transmissions using Yelp. With many reviews north of 95% positive I did not let the distance from our home to the shop get in the way, and I'm glad that I didn't. After pickup I purposely waited a few weeks before tendering a review so that if I needed to return the vehicle for any reason I could judge their temperament completely (many service providers are angels until they get paid, and when something goes wrong afterwards they evolve into demons, not these guys). Wayne & his team were true and genuine good people. I returned the car a week after pickup because I heard unfamiliar noises coming from the rear tires that I thought was related to the transmission upgrade. Although it was a nothing burger Wayne was cool, calm and easy going about it. Now our car is a lean mean driving machine that handles like new. We are so happy having found High-Tech Transmissions. So, if you need transmission work and you want a complete service experience it would be a mistake to take chances, get your car to High-Tech Transmissions, you won't regret it. These guys are the real deal. THANKS WAYNE!!!

My 2003 Z71 Silverado has the infamously problematic 4L60-E transmission, that has banged, jerked,…read moreand clunked while shifting since the day I drove it off the lot, new. Well, because I have always driven it gently, it made it to 17 years old & 115K miles before losing 3rd & 4th gear (the 3 / 4 clutch pack). Since driving around in 2nd gear wasn't a solid option, I did an online search for Transmission shops in Duluth GA, and was pleased to see the high reviews for AAMCO Duluth, and decided to give them a call. I made first contact with Ron, who is honest, straightforward, and set me up for an appointment, and he was also the point man throughout my repair, keeping me up-to-date on progress, estimates, expected completion, and it was a very positive experience from start to finish. They gave me repair options, told me how many days to expect the repair to take, and actually wrapped up a bit sooner. The shop location is excellent, and the customer care was quick, friendly, and professional. The place is clean and they take pride in what they do - it shows. Generally, I'm not one to make a fuss one way or the other, but AAMCO Duluth deserves two thumbs up, and the team there deserves a real pat on the back. I've waited a couple of months before posting this review, and can now say with confidence that the job was top notch - smooth - leak free - clean. I highly recommend this shop.

Professional Treatment - from everyone in the office from the moment I stepped inside the door. I was cheerfully greeted. They worked me in for diagnostics quickly. And even gave me a reminder call the day before. 2. The diagnostics - took only 1/2 day and they checked many things to be sure the problem was truly only the transmission. Ron was frequently in touch with me updating me on their findings and my options. He took time and thoroughly explained how and why my transmission was acting up. 3. Transmission options - Ron went over my various options of rebuilt transmissions and the warranties each offered. When I asked for his opinion, he gave it, but he never pressured me to choose one way or the other. He left it to me to decide. 4. Scheduled for work - I was scheduled quickly at my convenience for the work to be done. Ron told me to plan on a week, but it might take less than that. The work was done in 3 days. They had checked and replaced a small (and inexpensive) part on the brakes that needed replacing (which I had already known about). 5. Pricing - I thought was very reasonable and fair. I looked up the transmission prices and I was charged exactly that for the transmission. The cost for the work is standard. I felt I got very fair pricing. All in all, I felt I got the best quality care possible and I highly recommend this team of experts!

We were methodical about it... until we met the crew at Solo Motorsports. For the last 3 years now, we've had all of our service issues handled there and have never had a single complaint. They are a small shop, with high personal detail given to each customer. Each time either I or my wife walk in or even call... they know who we are. They've made practical suggestions to keep our vehicle running longer and then made fun suggestions to see if we wanted to turn our quiet unassuming family SUV into a yuppie rocket wagon from hell!! We have always said that this is one of those vehicles that we will own until it dies. With help from Solo Motorsports... we plan on enjoying it and keeping it running for as long as possible. I'm not sure I'd ever take it to an Audi Service Center again. We're spoiled now.

They assured me that it would be an OEM part. The HPFP failed two and half years later and when the part was removed it was far from OEM, it was a cheap Vemo HPFP. I see this no different than stealing by promising and charging for OEM but using cheaper parts. I guess they assumed I would get rid of the car prior to finding out.
