Stay away from this place. Seated ourselves on a Saturday afternoon with only one other table of customers. Three waitresses felt it more important to stand around talking rather than waiting on us, Even after making eye contact multiple times. We waited for well over 20 minutes and no one ever came over to take our order. My wife and I have eaten here a few times in the past where service was below par. We try to support our local Collierville and Germantown eateries and were willing to give this place another chance but, once again we were very disappointed. DO NOT recommend. Service is awful. If you like cold greasy food you will love Dyers! This was my second visit to this location, hoping to have a better experience than the last one. Apparently serving cold food and waiting for over 40 minutes to get it, is their gold standard. (There were only 8 people in the place when we placed our order. ) When we arrived a couple was leaving and said to us "good luck". And we found out why. There was one waitress on duty, one cook, and one person at the drink bar. After about 40 minutes we received our cold food, half of which was not what we ordered. Nothing about this place is healthy, but that's not the point is it. As far as the quality, the beef is good, but you can get a better burger other places. This was my first first. I have to say this place is great. I had the burger and my wife had the hotdog with chili. Of course I did try the hotdog. It was so good. Dyer's is fine. It is a charming little establishment, and there is history in the name, but I think they charge a premium for those things while the food is just alright. It is definitely not a healthy establishment (and if you've seen Dyer's on Food Network you may see that they seem to make an effort to be decidedly and obnoxiously UNhealthy). The staff are friendly. The atmosphere is cute. The food is standard burger cafe fare. I haven't been to the other locations, but I doubt Dyer's could stay open at these prices if they weren't in Collierville's town square or tourist hotspots. read more

So glad they have a dyers out in collierville now! It has a different atmosphere than the one downtown. The one in collierville has a homey feeling whereas the one downtown is more of a diner type. Nice little burger joint. Once we got our burgers, the food was really good. We had to wait though because the delivery truck didn't show yet with potatoes for fries and they were out of straws. Management needs to reevaluate their inventory / ordering processes / vendors if they can't keep basics in the restaurant. Deep fried pickles were good. All items are a la cart which makes it at least 10 to 12 dollars easily per person. They need to train the wait staff to not count their tip in front of the patrons as I feel it is rude. You can't beat a dyers burger. That is a given. I would rate them 5 star on the food alone but I'm going to hold back due to service. It is a tad lacking even if it is with a smile. Great people but I think they just need one more set of hands. Then little things might not get missed and you would have time to ask if your guests need anything else occasionally. I can only base my experience from one order & meal. The Beale street BBQ burger was absolutely delicious so that's why I give it 4 stars primarily. I ordered onion rings based on other reviews but I like more flaky crispy rings and these weren't my style and they had lots of pepper in the batter. Visited on a Sunday night and the place was empty. The menus have been updated and actually have pictures now. The staff was very friendly but not very knowledgable of the menu. I would rate the food, but after placing my order the waitress returned to the table and told us they had a shortage of hot dogs. I could have one for my order which contained two hot dogs or they could make my kids meals. How do you list hot dogs and burgers as your main menu items and run out of hot dogs? Is Waffle House running out of waffles now? The other reviews are not that great and I would agree. They are to high on the price for the quality. I will stick to Huey's going forward. Had this place today with the wife and I. If it's cold outside like today, bring a heavy coat. It was in the lower 30's and may have been a degree higher then outside. The food was bland. The menu prices are no longer current, the burgers don't come with sides even though they act like they do, and the waitresses recommend pricey add ons and don't tell you they cost more. We walked in (a family of 7) and I asked the nearest waitress if we order at the window or take a seat. She looked at me with disgust and said "you sit" like I was the dumbest human on earth and then twirled around so fast that her ponytail hit me in the face! I'm not sure why I stayed after that but everyone was excited to taste this famous burger. The atmosphere was really weird with no music & complete silence while each table checks out the next. People were just staring at each other. I felt like there was a hidden camera somewhere! It took 45 min for burgers!!!! It should not take that long. The tension in that tiny room of a restaurant was palpable & awkward. When the burgers did come, they were good but not as great as I expected. It's very similar to Wendy's. We always love dyers. We go to every location we are near but I can say the customer service has declined tremendously in collierville. They were packed because of what the town square was doing for the night which we understood tremendously but business slowed down by the time we sat to eat. We ordered and it took us 24 minutes exact to get water... water.. the families that came in after us all got their food before us. We ordered two docs and fried pickles they all received their burgers fries and drinks before we did and we are only two people. We never got refills and I had to go up to waitress get my check when I asked for a pen she pulled one out slammed it on the counter and went back to the register. No thank you oh sorry for that etc no words at all. I really believe the owner needs to evaluate what's going on. I was super Excited to try this place out with my husband after our movie date. But my excitement ended when we walked in , don't get me wrong it's a very cute old school cafe but when we walked in we WERENT GREETED ! We were confused on should we seat ourselves or do we order at the front ?!? Nobody helped so we ended up just seating ourselves. It was until 6 minutes later we were handed menus and our waiter didn't introduce himself or us , so we went ahead with our order. I give them props on their milkshakes!!! I really enjoyed it , but not waiting 20 minutes for our burgers. Me and my husband were really getting upset on the wait and were hoping that it's maybe worth the wait. We finally received our food when our waiter apologized for the long wait, he then explained " we had to give your burgers too a to go order so we had to recook you're burgers". Ummm okay really well I guess put us last than, I just found that very rude and not professional , your basically telling me our meal wasn't important. Had dinner at this cozy little place and it was fantastic. Had the Doc's original burger and fresh cut fries. Amazing! They make their burgers fresh and cooked in natural juices just the way the founder, Doc, did since 1912. I've traveled millions of miles, tried burgers all over the country and this was like a memory of burgers I've had since I was a kid before there was a McDonalds. I love French fries. It is hard to perfect cooking fresh cut fries. They are many times soggy or over cooked. These were crispy and perfectly cooked. There wasn't a single soggy fry in the stack. My family and I have driven to Colliervile several times because it is my girls favorite but today will be our last. We ordered Cheese Fries with Bacon as usual but since my youngest will not eat bacon we asked to add cheese to the fries with her meal. The waitress informed us that we could not do that because you are only allowed to have cheese fries with bacon and not just cheese fries. Huh? When I told the waitress they had done it for us before she told us "well that's why we fired the rule breakers". Wow over cheese on some fries. She continued to tell us about these "rule breakers". I realized that these rule breakers are the two waitresses that my daughters loved and looked forward to seeing. Needless to say I do not frequent establishments with such horrible customer service and policies. We will find a new favorite spots. I am not sure how melting some cheese on a little girls fries is "against policy" and will get us fired. I see huge management issues here. If only we had got our food sooner I would have given three or maybe four stars, but an hour and 30 minutes to get two burgers and fries seems a little excessive! The waitress was very pleasant when we sat outside because the restaurant was packed inside, and took our orders quickly. She answered our questions in a way that told you she'd heard our questions numerous times before. Then we waited....and waited....and waited....I kid you not, it was well over 1.5 hours just to get our food, which by that time we were so hungry ("hangry") we wolfed it down in minutes. My wife got the traditional two patty burger and I got the bacon burger, and we got one order of the fries. You could tell the meat was special and the way the burgers were prepared was excellent, but did I tell you it took 1.5 hours to get our food! I will say that the waitress "discounted" our bill, but by the time we got our bill we were so ready to leave it really didn't matter - it was the right thing to do, and I appreciated the effort - but I certainly won't be going by to Dyer's anytime soon. Small and cute old fashioned atmosphere, but we left all saying, "meh, we'll cross that one off the list now." As others have said, it really is overpriced, and the burgers themselves are just ok. Walked in this place because I heard the burgers were good. There were two other tables eating already. I walked up to the counter to ask if the server comes to the table or do we just order at the counter. The young lady confused said: " whaaaaaat?". I asked again and she was able to mumble that they would come to the table. At this point two other parties walked in. Everyone was ignored for about 5 minutes. No hello, no we'll be right with you. All the employees were in the back. The "lost" waitress came out to grab plates off other table but didn't acknowledge anyone. After waiting for about 15 minutes a lady from the other party stood up and was telling the "lost" Young lady that they had tried to order twice and nobody had acknowledged them. Mind you this place is the size of a shoe box. You really would have to try you hardest to ignore someone, however the staff was doing it to perfection. Not sure why this place gets low ratings...I love it! Their fried green tomatoes are really tasty with the perfect amount of breading and spice in it. Their Hersey pie is also a favorite of mine. The servers are always friendly, though service can sometimes be a bit slow. read more
