This restaurant is located in a small strip mall and has adequate parking available in the lot that it shares with the other business in the mall. They are a few tables outside in front of the restaurant to eat. There is also a small dining area with a television. The dinner room is on the older side and could have used a good cleaning. Apparently, if you plan on dining in, you grab a table and you will be served, but that was not very clear so I placed my order at the counter. The staff there was ok. They did their job. The restaurant has an efficient menu that includes ribs, chicken, sausage, pulled pork and brisket. And of course they have your favorite sides including salads, mac & cheese, backed beans, string beans, deviled eggs, potato salad, and french fries, sweet potato fries and cole slaw. There are even a few desserts to choose from. This place offers catering if you are looking. I ordered the pulled pork dinner with potato salad and baked beans. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was ok or average. I was not a major fan of any of it. The potato salad was pretty bland. The brisket seemed a bit under cooked and was seasoned after the fact. It was covered with some seasoning salt after it was cooked. When that is done, it has been my experience that it is to hide something. Anyway, the service/staff was ok, the food was ok, and the ambiance was ok. When you come in you are greeted with a warm smile and seated at the table inside. They also have tables outside for when it is warmer. They have menus but also a chalkboard wall has the menu on it as well. I presume it's for people ordering Togo but I like seeing it instead of regular menu. Ordered bbq pork nachos, pulled pork sandwich, and 1/3 rack of ribs. The option of different size rack is nice since you may not always eat it all. Everything was so good as always. First off it's somewhat of a quaint place. I was expecting something bigger more commercial but it definitely has a down home vibe! I gave 5 stars because the customer service is top tier! Fabulous bbq alert! Possibly a new favorite for me and the family, especially in terms of just the meat. We wanted to get a bbq fix before we left Memphis. On our last few visits, our usual spot really let us down in terms of quality. So I decided we'd try somewhere new. One & Only was open on Sunday, had great reviews, and wasn't too far, so off we went! We found it in the same area as Milk, which is a nearby dessert bar I'd visited the day before. As such, parking is a little limited, but we found a spot easily enough. The inside of the restaurant is pretty cramped -- mostly to go orders -- but there are a few small two and four-tops so we settled in. Service was lovely! All the staff was very friendly and sweet. Our food came out quickly enough too. My parents split a pulled pork sandwich and loaded potato salad. Hubs got the ribs (dry rub, but added a dab of sauce at the table) with baked beans and fries. I got the pulled pork dinner with fries and mac and cheese. The dinners come with a piece of garlic toast, too. The sweet tea I had to drink was yummy! On to the food -- Barbeque, across the board, was excellent. Best I've had in a long time! Hubs gave his ribs a 4.5/5 and said they were some of the best he'd had. My parents and I were both wowed and overjoyed at the flavor and texture of the pork. It was tender but not mushy/falling apart, and was remarkably tasty for how lean it was. This is maybe my perfect bbq pork -- I don't like a lot of gristle / fat, but it can be hard to get a lot of flavor without it. One & Only delivered. I liked all three of their bbq sauces but the spicy was my favorite -- great balance of sweet with a little twinge of heat. The sides are the only reason this isn't quite a 5 star for me. The fries, while hot and crispy, needed salt or seasoning. And the macaroni and cheese was super ordinary. WHEN I come again, I'll get something else on the side. Like....the twice baked potato salad! Not usually a potato salad fan but holy cow this one was amazing. My parents definitely out bought me there. Hubs agreed with me about the fries but said the baked beans were pretty good! There's pork in them, so be aware. Oh, and the garlic toast was delicious! Super buttery and garlicky. They have a dessert cooler with pies and banana pudding which was sorely tempting but we were too stuffed to go there. Overall, a 4.5 out of 5 for me. When to Kirby location , at 7:45pm, place order for 1/3 ribs with mustard potato salad. 2 customer came behind me and ordered also. The first customer ordered 1/3 ribs with a side and she got order. The 2nd customer, called her order at the Germantown store, because, Brittany check and told her, her was not called in the Kirby store. The customer order the cheese & sausage platter with extra pickles. Brittany, told her it will be a 15 minute wait, because, they are get orders ready as they come in. Daaaaaaamn! The best ribs I've ever had hands down. Now, maybe some places have tied but none have bested these works of art. If a Nobel prize could've been given for food. The dry tub was absolutely splendid they had bark that was nice and thick, but seasoned to perfection with the perfect hint of smoke. They were tender, but not messy-fall-off-the-bone and land-on-your-shirt that you sometimes see with overcook. The wet ones were NOT smothered to the point where all you tasted was sauce but perfectly coated just enough for the flavor of the smoked meat obviously poking through. We got in just after the dinner rush, but couldn't be made to feel any more welcome than the staff made us feel. They told us to grab a seeet wherever we wanted, and came right over and explained the menu and made some recommendations to us. My wife, being from eastern North Carolina, she is somewhat of a BBQ aficionado. She was intrigued at what western Tennessee you would hold for us, and what they billed as BBQ. When we mentioned we were passing through headed to Texas for an event, they were quick to congratulate us and gave a sizable sample of brisket to try and compare to what Texas has. The ribs were delicious. The BBQ was delicious. The brisket, just like they described, was more like Baltimore pit beef... and delicious. The beans were delicious. The Mac and cheese was that good family reunion style, that your mom made on special occasions. So good. The sauces were all unique and delicious. The ribs were ultra meaty and the bbq sauce was fantastic. We do have better bbq in socal, but this place was decent. The best beef ribs I've ever had are at my house and they at Lucilles in Socal. The indoor seating area is very limited, so this restaurant does a lot of takeout business. Apparently, this is the original location of what has grown into four or five joints across metro Memphis. We decided to eat inside of the restaurant. The serving sizes were massive. My wife greatly enjoyed the pulled pork barbecue nachos, but the paper liner became soggy and torn midway through her meal. The restaurant might consider instead serving this item on a plate. I had the two meat combo meal. The pulled pork was delicious. The so-called beef brisket was just okay. The beef that they used was of the same consistency of the processed meat ordinarily used to make Philly cheesesteaks. I enjoyed the generous side portions of coleslaw and mustard potato salad. I would order the pulled pork again, but definitely not the beef brisket. I may return if I'm in the neighborhood, but there are other barbecue spots in the area that I've not yet sampled. read more

During our 2022 cross-country road trip, one of our stops was Memphis, Tennessee. During our short time in this city, we had several amazing experiences, including a moving visit to the National Civil Rights Museum, built at the Lorraine motel where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, and an informative and fun visit to Sun Studios where Elvis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and countless other artists recorded. That we were able to accomplish all of this in a single day is a testament to Mrs. Picante's strict planning and scheduling, as well as my exceptional albeit illegal driving ability. And after that long day, once we had settled into our hotel for the night, and got our 26 foot camper attached to the truck parked snuggly in the back parking lot... The whole family announced they were hungry! if you trailer anything, then you know that once you are parked, especially in a small hotel parking lot, you really don't wanna move again. Murphy's Law dictates that when you return, there will be absolutely no space, and you'll be stuck trying to figure out what to do. thanks to yelp, we were able to find one and only barbecue just a short 0.4 miles away from our hotel. After finding all the kids shoes that had been thrown around the hotel room, we set foot across an industrial park lot, cutting the corner a little bit and shortening the walk. We J walked across a busy street, and ran into the small restaurant with a giant sign. It seems they recently lifted a lot of their Covid restrictions, because despite signage indicating all sorts of rules and restrictions, we enjoyed a relatively normal sit down in the "order at the counter, enjoy at a table of your choosing" style restaurant. As for the food, how can you go wrong with slow cooked meats slathered in barbecue sauce? Everybody ordered something a little different, and most plates (and by plates I mean Styrofoam clamshell to go containers) came with a side and a big slice of Texas toast. we ordered way too much food, but then again, when you are staying in a hotel, there's always that meal that you want to have around 10:45 PM that comes after dinner and before breakfast. You know what I'm talking about. And that's when that extra ordering really came in handy. The kids behind the counter were really nice, and sold my wife on a couple of desserts. Everything was really good, and for a strip mall style borderline fast food barbecue spot, the stuff was really awesome. Man oh man, I miss our road trip, and want to go back so badly. A lot of websites said the BBQ in Memphis was like no other city so we made sure to try it before we left. A local recommend this place to us and we decided to give it a go. We showed up later in the evening and were able to get a seat outside. We ended up trying out a bunch of appetizers including Onion Rings, Fried Pickles, and BBQ quesadilla. All of the appetizers were delicious and well portioned. For my main course, I decided to try the pulled pork with fries and twice baked potato salad. The meal came out after about 10 minutes and I was amazed by how large the portions were. The pork was delicious and was even better with the sauces they had on the table. The fries were bountiful and cooked well but the best dish was the potato salad which caught me by surprise. I'm usually not huge on potato salad but this was so delicious. All in all, I not only had an amazing meal here but also a wonderful experience. The entire staff was incredibly kind and even held on to my credit card after I left it there. Great service and great food! Just passing through on our way home to Alaska and happened upon this place. Loved it.

This place is worth all five of its stars! We walked into the cafe, and the waitress greeted us nearly instantly! She was the epitome of excellent customer service! The fried pickles were good AND plenty - so much that we couldn't finish half of them. They were crispy, hot, and just the right amount of greasy juicy goodness. The brisket was so tasty. The peppered tanginess of the meat was near perfection. The toast was just perfect with saturated awesomeness of bitterness that was spread quite evenly. For the sides, I had Cole slaw and "twice baked" potato salad. The coleslaw was quintessential southern quality - absolutely scrumptious. And the potato salad was like a loaded baked potato in salad form. SO GOOD. The service was fairly good on hospitality and speed. And again, the waitress was absolutely friendly.
