Based on recommendations from our neighborhood Facebook group, we called Top Dog Roofing to inspect our roof after the big ice storm in Austin. They found long term hail damages and helped us work with our homeowner insurance to get our whole roof replaced. Top Dog only charged us the amount set by insurance, which is way less than what other companies quoted us. My agent from Top Dog was Vance Blair. A little over a week ago I reached out to Top Dog Roofing via their website to inquire about a roof inspection and the installation of rain gutters. I received a phone call back and was scheduled an appointment. Jessie Jackson (the roof inspector) who came to my house performed a roof inspection with a video and when he was done showed me the video inspection and notes taken during the inspection. Although I did not require a new roof nor roof repairs, I did get a quote for rain gutters. I had the rain gutters placed in within a week from when I completed the paperwork and placed the work order in. Had our roof replaced by Top Dog Roofing last year (2020) during the pandemic. They had the job completed same day. My job lead James Beaver led us through the process from start to finish. The result was incredible. They installed attic roof vents, checked the stacks and patched any holes in the plywood that were found. We went with an architectural style roof shingle and the quality is great. The entire financing process takes place via iPads and photos/scans of documents are provided digitally. I was even provided drone images of our roof to review. They helped coordinate with the insurance process as well. I write the review now because.. we have now survived two crazy storms (winter storm 2021 in February and a crazy 70mph wind storm over Memorial day weekend where our neighbor's tree clipped our house) Both times the roof held up perfectly and protected our house. Used Top Dog Roofing for the second time after a massive hail storm at the end of 2023. Being a previous customer, James Beaver reached out and promptly took a look at my roof the following day and helped prioritize fixes and patching before we could work out details of the next roof replacement. I picked this group because they are a local business and during Covid wanted to go local as much as possible. They arrived quickly and assessed my roof. They told me to tell them when my adjuster was coming so they could advocate for me. My estimate was right in line with my insurance payment. We put a new roof on to help market our house. Eric Riojas came out to give us an estimate, and did his presentation about materials, warranty, and installation process. The project supervisor Peter came out to get the job started, and a crew leader was on site at all times. The manager Jason even came out to the house to be sure the roof got done on time. If looking for a reliable and trustworthy roofing company, I suggest Top Dog all the way! We quoted with multiple roofing companies after the 2021 hail storm. They made the process easy and kept us informed every step of the way. We have skylights and experienced some leaking from a strong storm. We contacted Top Dog and they didn't hesitate to come out to look at the issue. While there was an issue with the flashing, they first came out and diagnosed the issue. Taking full responsibility, with no resistance, they first made some temporary fix so to stop the leak. They then came out and fixed it. Completely fine. When though their website to schedule appointment to get an estimate for my roof replacement. After 3 days, I called them directly. They stated they tried to call me and left voice mail and sent me an emailed. I did not have any voice mails on my phone and emails. I even checked my spam folder to confirm no emails. They were patient and flexible with the schedule of the roof installation since we needed to coordinate with the removal of our solar panels. While we were working with the solar company to schedule the solar panel removal Brian got on the roof and installed a temporary tarp to avoid additional damage. I had been impressed with the demeanor and professionalism of one of Top Dog's representatives who was working on a nearby home ages ago and kept the business card I was given. When it came time to have some work done our 15-year-old home, I called Top Dog Roofing. Doug and Chris came out, looked at the roof, and gave me the exact same recommendations an independent inspector had listed on his report. They answered all my questions, gave a great bid on the job, and stayed in regular communication throughout the process. The workers came out soon after, and no evidence of their work (stray nails, shingle bits, etc.) was left in my yard when they were done. When Doug and Chris came to look at the completed work, they were not pleased with the color match of the new shingles. They had it changed immediately and came back again to make sure the work was done to their standards. We recently had our roof replaced by Top Dog Roofing, and are very happy with the results. Our roof had suffered some hail damage, and it became necessary to replace it, along with the roofs of two out-buildings and a gazebo! We had met a couple of reps of Top Dog Roofing at the Austin Home and Garden Show a few years ago. We were impressed with their professionalism and for the fact that they donate a percentage of each job to Austin Pets Alive. We knew we wanted to use them and contacted them for an estimate. Martin arranged for an inspection to assess the damage, and then returned to meet with the insurance adjuster to answer any questions. Like so many people on Yelp, I am confessing that I should have written this review a long time ago. My roof was completed last summer and Top Dog did a fabulous job! I first called them because a person I had out for tree trimming mentioned that squirrels were getting in due to a missing tile. They came out and did an inspection and found that there had been hail damage the previous fall. James Beaver did a great job keeping me in the loop and Michelle Emerson is a wizard when it comes to dealing with insurance! My, she put in a lot of work to get the job approved and an appropriate amount allocated for the repair. At the end James and two supervisors came out and walked the roof and made sure everything looked good. I have had leaking around the chimney area in the past so I wanted to be absolutely sure that there would not be an issue there. The roof looks great and it came through the ice storm with flying colors. I think the fire and ice shield really did it's job! read more

He is very knowledgeable, articulate, thorough, and detailed in his explanations and answered every question without hesitation with correct information. I found Top Dog Roofing on Yelp after noticing that water was dripping from the ceiling of the master bathroom. Jessie did an initial inspection and suggested that the problem may be the skylight in the bathroom or a leak near the chimney. After another more thorough check the next day, he said that his initial assessment had been wrong and the problem was a leaky AC duct. So there was no work for him and the inspection was free. These guys stayed on the phone with me for nearly an hour to explain many things about roofing and their products that I was unaware of. While I did not eventually choose these guys when deciding to get a roof, I was very impressed with how courteous they were, knowledgeable and friendly. Sometimes those things are more important than the roof itself. I would also recommend going with them first, particularly if your homeowner's is footing some of the bill because their crew is fully employed and is not contracted, so +1 to that. In my case my roof was going to be out of pocket, but the slightly higher price is worth it I think to make sure good Texans get good jobs. =) read more

We had been having leaking problems in one area, when my husband showed the area to the roofer, he knew what the problem was on the roof and fixed it at no cost!!! I'm a little late posting my review of Top Dog, but I need to tell you I could not be more pleased with how easy this whole process was. I contacted Jason in late December (we already had our Christmas lights hung). He came out same day to walk my roof (took lots of pictures) and give me a quote. A few days later, Jason met our insurance adjuster at the house to assess the damage together. Within a few days we had the paperwork written up, the materials picked out to use, and the date to start the job. They were nice enough to wait until after the holiday to come back and do the job after family was gone and lights were down, which I thought was nice. No pressure to lock us in and get the job on the books before the end of the year. Materials were delivered one day, the job was done the next day. The installation crew was very efficient and clean up was kind of unreal. I was worried about finding nails and debris in the yard because I have kids and pets but they did a fabulous job leaving virtually no trace of their work. Since our roof was 17 years old, it's nice to have new energy efficient materials I didn't realize existed protecting our house! Our roof looks great and we would highly recommend contacting Jason at Top Dog for your project. read more
