We've been having nothing but headache with Roof Masters. We had hail damage to our roof back in April, hired Paul, and installment happened in early July. Ever since then it's been a nightmare--little to no communication, constant lies and promises about following up, and a myriad of excuses to go with all. Silence for weeks upon weeks. All we wanted was transparency, and for a supplemental claim to be submitted for the gutters they removed (removed without being asked). Paul was awesome to work with. We had a plumber push a vent seal up while replacing a water heater and then say they wouldn't re-seal it for us, and to call a roofer. Paul was willing to come out the very next day, his price was reasonable, and he showed up when he said he would. While he was sealing that vent he found several others on our roof that needed extra sealant, and took care of those as well. Called Roof Masters to set up an appointment for an estimate to fix weather damaged roof shingles. The lady on the phone took down my information and said she'd have someone call me to make an appointment. To my surprise I recieved a call back from Paul, the owner, only a short time later. Something to watch out for this business ..... I talked to Paul last Thursday regarding to a leaky "death valley" roof corner condition. He gave me a quote and even it was higher than other bids, he sounded professional in explaining all the details. I had told him I would go with him after he would be on-site the following day to do a visual evaluation and a written estimates so that my property manager could work with him to make arrangement. He had my direct text number, and property manager contacts. No response on Friday, and on the following Monday morning, I texted him to ask for estimates and status. On Tuesday, he replied and said he was on the way. I reminded him to send me the estimates first and needed authorization from property manager and me. Since then, I haven't heard from him, and on Thursday, I heard from my property manager that they were not hearing from him and were waiting for his estimates. On Friday, I texted Paul as I needed to move on to another vendor. He then texted me saying that he finished the job a couple of days ago, without any authorization from property manager or from me!!! He claimed he had my "verbal" authorization from last Thursday! No pictures, no estimates, no communication, and nothing in between!!! I talked to him on the phone, and of course, all the "sweet talks" now on taking care of my property first, putting off other projects for me, not care about all the technicality of work order or authorization, etc. Property manager did send me his estimates today and it was dated 2 days ago, meaning that he finished his job even before getting me the estimates! I had preserved all the texts as the fact proofs of all of the above. I understand this time (covid-19) everyone is hunger for business and making ends meet, but this is by no means "professional" but sneaky or sly. I told him rest assured I would honor his payment in this particular time just to help out small business, but I have to make this known to the community so that you would be watchful and mindful for this business. His estimate came in $500 under the other one. I went with him and I'm glad I did. The men that did the work have been with the company for years. They knew what they were doing. They found an additional problem and addressed it. They were careful, methodical, and engaging to talk to. These guys obviously enjoy their work.
