Tried Dynasty Cuisine today on Southmore in Pasadena near Richey St.. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp and Pork Egg Rolls. The egg rolls were good. The Spicy Shrimp was excellent. It was loaded with nice sized shrimp. The shrimp had a good kick to them but not too spicy, just right. Along with the shrimp were lots of onions, jalapeños and a few broccoli florets. The restaurant is very clean and the staff was nice. On top of finding a good spot to eat I received some good news in my fortune. "A long standing problem will find its resolution". So, I got that going for me. If you want Chinese/Asian food at a reasonable price you need to try this spot out. read more

I am ashamed to say that I have judged this establishment many years prior without actually going in and giving it a try. Today, I realized I was judgemental and decided to give it a try and I am so glad that I did. I was greeted and seated promptly as they had just recently opened. The server was delightful and courteous, he stood stern and repeated my order and bowed before retreating back to the kitchen. This was an unexpected first class service coming from an establishment that I never gave a chance. I am sorry Dynasty Cuisine, because the moo goo gai pan I received was deliciously fresh and vibrant, as was the steamed chicken with shrimp and mixed vegetables. The pork fried rice came with bean sprouts and green onions minus peas and carrots. A side of some perfectly fried biscuits capped off our lunch and left both of us pleasantly surprised. Overall food taste ok, and for the price you get a lot of it. I've only ordered online and eat my food at home. I suspect they microwave all of their food because all the food items are always extremely hot! And get hotter towards the center. That being said, they still have better tasting fried rice and general t'so chicken than a lot of mom and pop spot's. Another plus is their staff is always extremely nice. I think this place has one of the best fried rices in town. It's made yo order also not just sitting around in a Ben. When I order they do exactly what I ask for. Don't put this or extra that. It's a lot of food too. I can't eat this all at once and it becomes 3 meals. The people don't talk much and the drive through is odd but it works. Great place. read more

Ordered tonight, got home and the order was incorrect (we were given shrimp instead of chicken, VERY allergic to shrimp). According to the online order, the coconut chicken COMES with broccoli. The shrimp order included broccoli. I called and was told to return for the correct entree. I drove 15 minutes back to the restaurant and received my coconut chicken. I asked the young man if the order had broccoli and he said I didn't ask for it; I mistakenly thought he meant i had not asked to add ADDITIONAL broccoli and commented to him that the picture doesn't show broccoli so it is confusing. I took my order and went home. Got home and I have NO BROCCOLI, even though their online description clearly states it does... I am not sure if they know what they are selling but when an order is incorrect and the customer is inconvenienced, you would expect the restaurant to make sure the order is correct!! And to add insult to injury, we were charged for shrimp (which costs a bit more than chicken) and not offered the difference!! Cons: the lady on the phone was a little rude and just generally sounded like she didn't want to take my order at all. They charged me for delivery even though I'm not that far away. Pros: The food was pretty great. The pork fried rice looked and tasted great. The egg drop soup didn't look so appetizing, but it was really hot and tasted just right; not too salty. The delivery went to the wrong house accidentally, but once he found my house it was definitely worth the little extra wait. Another failed attempt at eating a decent lunch around my job. I had visited this place a long time ago and stopped going because the food pretty much sucked. They changed the name and put a sign out advertising healthy/fresh food. So, I gave them a try. If by healthy you mean with no flavor, then yes it is healthy. I guess I should start ooff with a confession I've been a resident of Pasadena for over 16 years and never stopped at Dynasty Cuisine which I admit is shocking for me considering what an Asian Food fanatic I am and a Foodie! I popped in one day a few months back and found myself completely surprised at how fresh and delicious the food was. The young man who almost always takes my orders is very friendly and always ready to please customers. The menu is massive so their are plenty of options. If you choose to stay and eat be warned that the place is a little dated. You may notice the dining room always seems to have little to no customers in it and I honestly believe that a simple makeover might spark people's interest to eat at the Restaurant it self. New carpet, new tables and booths and some better lighting along with some mood music would work wonders for Dynasty Cuisine. It took me 20 minutes to finish and I was checking out my order and it was being complicated while registering my debt card. I decided to call up there and just simply ask for what I was ordering. It was 9:15 by this time. (They stop taking orders at 9:30) They answer and say "we closing" after I try to explain the situation. I've also received orders as late as 11:00pm, so that's stupid. My family and I went there 3 times, the food seemed ok but the third time we all got sick and it was disgusting. We will not eat off their buffet again as one or more of the dishes apparantly made us very sick. This restaurant has been a lot of different names and under different management, so I was reluctant to give it another try, but I'm glad I did! Dynasty Cuisine does not have a buffet (Thank goodness). Each dish is prepared fresh and tasty. I love the spicy dishes.
