Two others were working, I said I had made an appointment and she told me she was on her way I waited til 11:06 to cancel and then asked if one of them could get me in next, yes was the response by whomever finishes first, yet the lady who finished first took someone else Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Try acknowledging your customers, we are taking time out of our day to pay you for a service yet y'all can't even say hello. I can't even give this place a rating for how many times they dicked me around. A lot of my time was wasted three times by them. They leave for lunch from 12-1 and I came 40m earlier just so I can ensure my spot after the first time dicking me around. They opened at 1:30p and still took someone before me for the hassle. These guys are great! Being a guy, I'm just used to getting another guy to cut my hair. (Skin fade w line up). Additionally, I am in the military, so I get my haircut every week. When I first came here and I saw all women cutting I was a bit skeptical. None the less, I have now been like 5 times and have had my hair cut by every one of their barbers including the owners/sisters. The service is always outstanding, their staff is always courteous, the hair cut price is VERY REASONABLE(I think I pay $13-$14 for a cut), and most important the haircut itself has been SPOT ON EVERY TIME! Needed a haircut close to work and needed in quickly. Couldn't afford to wait an hour or so at my usual place. Called and they said they had time for a walk in. When I got there not gonna lie was a bit nervous since it was a new place. Described what I needed to the girl and she knocked it out of the park. I have been going to this barber for about a year. They usually do a pretty decent fade. By they I mean the owners- Mayra and Sandra. The others are new so I haven't went to them yet.. And now never will. Their mediocre haircuts are no longer worth their awful customer service or appreciation.. Today was the last straw. If you want your hair to grow get your hair cut with Sandra,I got a bad hair cut a couple of years ago and it stopped growing. right after Sandra cut my hair it grew right back she's also one of the few stylist that has been able to style my super thick hair. Veryyyyyyyy disappointed. I came here around noon and there was only one lady cutting hair. When I spoke this this female barber, she told me she was the only one cutting hair today. Being the only customer at the shop, I had her undivided attention. Then, a mother with twin kids came shortly after. After a couple of minutes another customer shows up. At this point there are now three customers behind me and I see the worried look on my barbers face. She went from cutting my hair slowly to a more quicker pace. That's when I knew, the quality of the cut would probably be affected. Sure enough, I get a half-as*#d cut. I timed how long my hair cut was and it was exactly 10 minutes on the dot. I can't really be mad at her, there should of been more staff there. I really hate myself for giving her a shot. My regular barber wasn't there and I should of just came back another day. I started going to this place a year ago. Place is open everyday day of the week so it's super convenient. Like the fact it's all walk in appointments. Stopped going to my last barber because they got too caught up with always setting appointments. I work 50 hours. Week and have 2 little girls so don't have time to set appts. The main barber's name is Sandra. She has a very steady hand and can do great fades and lines up. Her sister is good too. Ok, I thought long and hard about whether to post my thoughts on this page and decided it in better taste to place it here than to cause a scene at the shop, so here we go. I've been going to Dynasty Cuts now for close to a year and have gotten about 16 hair cuts from either Myra or Griselda, whoever was less busy or whoever was there at the time I showed up. I began going to DC at the urging of my nephew Alex who has been going for a long time according to him. He always suggests I go to Sandra, but I have not been so fortunate thus far. Anyway, to my point.... Since I have been going there, or at least shortly thereafter, I received the punch card which I have been getting punched by either Myra or Griselda, the only two who have ever cut my hair and the only two other employees to my knowledge. The card entitles you to a free hair cut once you have paid for 6. So I have redeemed a card before and have filled another and that brings us current, to today. A couple weeks ago now I went in around 10:30am hoping to beat the rush and as I had a little free time between work appointments. I greeted the girls and right away I noticed two unfamiliar faces. Two new girls. Myra and Griselda were busy cutting hair and I had barely sat down when the new girl, Eva, asked me if I was ready. I said to her, I know that you are new here, but since I am a pretty easy customer and probably not as particular as some of the kids who come through here, that I'll go ahead and let you cut my hair. My not having to wait was definitely a plus and I am happy to see Sandra has hired help, they definitely needed it. It gets very busy here some days. After the haircut which was very good by the way, I told Eva that I was going to redeem my punch card. She looked a little bewildered, which is understandable, as maybe she hadn't seen one yet, she is new. Here is where it gets awkward. This is part 1. Eva asks Sandra, who has now come in from the back and begun cutting hair, about the card. Sandra comes to look at it. It has been punched 6 times by either Myra or Griselda, her only two employees at the time of the haircuts and ready for redemption. Sandra told me that I could NOT redeem the card, except with the person who cut my hair and punched the card. Now keep in mind the card does not have any redemption instructions or restrictions on it, nor are any posted at the shop to my knowledge, so I now presuming she would have me wait for either Myra or Griselda, however long that may have taken to redeem that card today even though I had no knowledge that there were any restrictions on its redemption. Ok now to part 2. I told Eva I had not come prepared to pay for a haircut with cash and only had money for a tip. She pointed out the ATM machine to me and I agreed to get cash from there. I paid Eva and gave her a tip and turned to Sandra again. and asked her if I may get a new punch card for Eva. Since I had now withdrawn cash, incurred the $2.50 ATM fee and paid cash for this haircut, I wanted it included on a card so that I could get credit for it. Sandra told me that I could NOT get a new card until I had redeemed the old card. Then she told me that there are no more cards at this time. So there it is. By that time, I was a little upset about this. I had been refused redemption of my card based on restrictions that are not listed anywhere and had not been told to me, then I was refused a new card for the new hair stylist until I redeemed my old card with the old hair stylists. Firstly I appreciate that Sandra has hired help, the main reason I move from one barber to another is because the wait becomes way too long. I have been at 4 other shops in Lemon Grove over the past 15 years and have landed at DCuts. I am trying very hard to maintain a consistent relationship with this shop as I have been very happy with it and I try to make every effort to support local businesses as I live in Lemon Grove myself. The punch card certainly is a bonus and helps and I appreciate it. I try to keep my visit days and times random to avoid waiting as much as possible. Anyway, today I was very dismayed by Sandra's handling of this situation and someone could make a case that maybe the restrictions on the use of the card were created just today, just for me, as this unusual scenario occurred. Anyway, now that this is off my chest, I am uncertain whether or not I want to return to get another haircut or to attempt to redeem my punch card or whether I will even be welcome after this. So the first time I went in there I got a regular cut the price was 15 a few weeks later I go in and ask for the same type of cut n she tries charging me 20 I ask her why n she says because I asked for more stuff when I really just got a simple cut, I asked for my money back but she only gave me 1$ back from 20 I stayed there till she gave me my money back because I wasn't gonna let her finess me, money is money n this b is a gold digger, only wants money n does not care bout the customer. I never wrote a review on yelp but today I felt like I really needed to. My boyfriend and I came in today to get his hair cut. We came in and the woman was completely unfriendly and didn't greet us, she was completely closed off. My boyfriend tells her how he wants it cut and she didn't listen to his request at all. His hair looked insanely terrible and the sides were cut way too short to the skin and his hair on top was sticking all over the place. I don't understand how she felt confident about having him leaving like that. And she never once checked with him to see if she was doing what he requested. This woman is supposed to be the best here but i guess this place has very low standards on employees. He came here before and they cut his hair uneven but he wanted to give it another chance. This is a fucked up place! Went there at 4:30 on a Sunday & was turned away, Sandra always cuts my hair, every time I go there I tip her good, I believe that every barber should be tipped good & not just a dollar! I'm talking at least five dollars and up, well I'm that tipper and she always took care of me and I returned the favor by tipping her well. She tells me no cuz she's hungry and I even offered extra $ like 40 bucks for a fucken hair cut & still no. At 4:30 pm Sunday when they close at 5pm. That's bullshit! You don't turn away a good paying customer especially when he appreciates your work & always comes to you! That's not the way to do business, you keep that attitude then business will go to shit eventually, other people I see there tip a dollar or won't tip at all & it's pretty fucked up I get turned away.
