No service rendered, no flexibility offered, no attempt to do the right thing. That tells me everything I need to know. This is a business that values squeezing $80 out of a customer over showing even minimal decency. Short-sighted, tone-deaf, and not the kind of people I'll ever do business with again. Enjoy the $80. Karma has a way of keeping score. Follow-Up: I received a response from the owner attempting to justify what happened, but it completely missed the facts. This wasn't a case of someone trying to misuse credentials in a typical sense--it was a one-on-one appointment that was already booked, paid for with credits, and ultimately went unused. My wife showed up, explained the situation clearly, and was still turned away. No service was provided, yet the credits were kept. Comparing this to standard "no sharing accounts" policies is a weak and inaccurate analogy. This situation called for basic judgment and a small amount of flexibility--neither of which was shown. The owner's response only reinforces my original impression: this business is more focused on rigid policies and protecting a minor dollar amount than on treating people reasonably, even under exceptional circumstances. I've been a loyal customer for almost two years now. I normally don't have issues with appointments - but when I do there is no accountability. I booked an appt online since Instagram advertisements pop up for the webpage and you can schedule online. I booked an appointment Thursday online to be seen on Tuesday - that's 5 days - and I show up for my appointment and they said someone is booked for the time I booked. I showed the lady my email confirmation of said appt and she tried to tell me that the girl who also booked had been booked for almost a week. The lady told me I should call in my appointments because it's better. Why is online booking be advertised if no one is checking the appointments? Why did no one notify me that it was already booked? Why was the time slot available if it really wasn't? I love this nail salon, I love booking with the girl I normally do but when there is no communication of appointment issues then it bothers me. I would be less upset if someone would have checked and seen that I booked and there was a conflict then to show up at my time and tell me I can't be seen. I book with the lady I do for a reason, not saying the other ladies aren't good, but the lady who I go to knows me and the issues I have with my nails. They always do such a good job and my nails always get the best compliments. I just think communication with appointment services can be better. In the mean time I have found a different nail place to go for a bit. The one star is for lack of communication and accountability for appointments and the system. This was far my greatest salon experience ever! The salon is decorated so beautifully, and well stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks. The customer service is attentive, generous, and gracious. I was 10 minutes late to my appointment (made same day) and while I did have to wait a bit, this was on account of the salon being particularly busy this afternoon, and staff was very apologetic and provided updates on timing while I waited (about 30 minutes, which I didn't mind as I was late myself and was squeezed in for a same-day appointment anyway). I booked a deluxe gel pedicure and expressed concerns about needing nail repair on one big toe (before/after photos attached). My nail tech, Nhi, discovered damage to the other big toe nail and explained pricing for repairs (acrylic) prior to the service. She checked in with me frequently to ensure I was satisfied with length, shape, color, etc and helped me choose my final color to match my existing manicure. It was my first time getting any extensions on my toes so the attention was very much appreciated. The service came with a lengthy scrub, massage with clay mask, and an oil massage. Something I've never experienced in any other nail salon but I absolutely loved was that they applied SPF prior to my gel nail application to protect my skin from the UV! Also loved that they had brand new tools (packed sterile) and disposed of personal pumice stones/buffers after use. I still go here and lucky to have it right by home. They've expanded and I'm so happy, I hope to visit their CV location one time because they offer even more services down there! Since the techs I used to go to left since the business expanded, I've tried to get my gel mani/pedi from multiple techs. Everyone is always so friendly and most have been amazing, I would forget their names so I forget who to ask for making my appointments. I always do French tip and since it's the holidays, I wanted to add a bow design on one of my nails for each mani/pedi. Ken did my pedicure and and he was so gentle with caring for my toes. He asked how I wanted the thickness of the tips to be and the simple design I wanted was so cute! Sally did my manicure and made sure I liked the length, tip, and design. Somewhat disappointed. I gave a picture of the nail shape I wanted which was rounded but square at the ends. I ended up with this. They are very crooked and the polish is uneven. They also did my pedi and full set separately, and every other customer had double service. So I was there for over two hours. By the time my nails were being done, I was just ready to be out of there. The place is nice and clean. But the quality of work wasn't my pace. I really wanted to like this place since it's so close to home. Note: this was an appointment where I called ahead and requested both services. The person who did my pedicure even almost forgot I was getting my hands done because they started writing out a receipt and then someone reminded them. Also, a professional nail salon should be able to at least create uniform shape and polish properly. If it was just the wrong shape but still uniform, the rating would have been higher. read more

The shape and French decoration are spot on! 10/10, I used to go to Hillcrest and also Chula Vista and this is was way better than both! this location offered wine just like in Hillcrest so that an added bonus and also take credit card which is a huge plus bc the CV ones are all cash. Nancy did my pedicure and just ate it up! I got the extra callus remover and your girl went to town and scrubbed a lot longer and made sure she got all of your foot, not just the bottoms. she paid attention to not cut me while trimming my toes so that's a huge plus for me bc others are usually really rough and just cut in the skin. I've been coming here for a couple years and always receive great service. They provide snacks and drinks. For me the most important thing is hygiene and I can say this place is clean. The front receptionist even though juggling a couple things at once is a great multi tasker. The ambience is calm and inviting. Every nail tech I've had so far has been very kind and they try to match your mood, if you want to talk they talk and if you prefer to stay quiet you can. I had Christine T. today and she was great. Anna took off my old acrylic nails and did dip gel on my natural nails. She did a fantastic job! She was able to keep a lot of my natural length and even fixed up the corners so they looked beautiful. The salon is very relaxing and clean. I will definitely be back! Updating to say that the nails didn't last long unfortunately. They chipped within about 4 days. Everyone was super nice when I went back in to get them fixed and they didn't charge me anything. Unfortunately, they once again only lasted about a day and a half. So I would not recommend getting dip gel here. However, their service and ambiance is top notch and I think if I got pretty much any other service than the dip gel I would have been very happy with it read more

I had to hop on here to shout out the most amazing foot rub during my pedi with Elaine. 99% of the time I get pedi's the technicians usually always focus on the legs/calves which for some might be great but for me I would much rather have a foot focused rub. I work very long hours on my feet and a nice foot rub is always nice. Elaine did a wonderful job paining my nails but that foot rub whew I will be requesting her from here on out. My pedicures are my treat to myself my time away from my hectic life to relax and pamper myself. I am so happy to have found this wonderful lady that gives such amazing foot rubs. I have been coming here off and on for about 2 years now and I feel like the quality of service has declined since I first starting going. The pedicures can be great here, but it depends on who completes your service. I recently got a Gel X set done on 8/11 and the nails have already started to come off on 8/19, and this is the third time that this happened this year. I do not recommend manicure or full set services since they don't last. Just be mindful of who completes your services. A friend recommended this place and I was not disappointed. First time going in for any kind of nails that were the least damaging and they recommended gel-x. I got my first set and I absolutely loved the work. I showed the lady a pictures and she replicated the designs beautifully. I also got a French tip pedicure and I loved it. They offer complimentary drinks like mimosas and tea, snacks and water. The massage chairs are always nice. End result I definitely think the art was worth the price I paid. Tammy did such a great job with my gel pedicure! It was only $48 before tip which is cheaper than the last place I was going to. She was able to remove all my dead skin doing callus treatment and cuticle care. During the massage, she used a lime and cracked my toes (I've never had this before but I enjoyed it lol). While polishing, she put sunscreen on my feet to protect from the UV light. The salon is clean and very spacious. It's also in an area (Lemon Grove) with lots of stores and places to eat if you're running errands after your service. I will definitely be coming back for more services. I had such a wonderful experience with Yvonne at Peacock Nails! She did an amazing job with my pedicure, as always, and the massage she gave at the end was truly beyond exceptional. Throughout the appointment, she complimented my color choice, which made me feel confident and pampered. She was friendly and welcoming without being overwhelming--just the right balance to make the visit enjoyable and relaxing. The quality of work at Peacock Nails is consistently top-tier, and I love that every technician I've been paired with has been exceptional. I had an amazing experience at Peacock Nail Salon, and I can't recommend it enough! Anna did my pedicure, and she was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. I opted for the pumpkin pedi, and it was the perfect seasonal treat. The whole process was so relaxing, and Anna made sure I was comfortable the entire time. She paid attention to every detail and really took her time to make sure my feet looked and felt great. The salon itself was clean, welcoming, and had a peaceful atmosphere. Came into Peacock nails to take a chance on a new place and I was absolutely delighted after so many disappointments at other locations ! Anna was absolutely fantastic, thorough and expedient with the service but attentive on the massage portion. Her kind demeanor and gentle manner made me feel well taken care of and absolutely relaxed! She is now stuck with me as her client because I have not one complaint! I've been coming here for a few months now and decided to try stiletto nails for the first time. Lola was absolutely AMAZING. She made me feel so comfortable from the start. She continuously checked in with me to make sure I wasn't hurt and that everything looked exactly how I wanted it. I'm usually nervous when it comes to putting a new set on because my natural nails are thin but she didn't hurt me at all! She shaped my nails to perfection which I know is no easy task! She is also very personable, kind and so fun to talk with. I will definitely be requesting Lola next time I come in! read more

Typically, my mani and pedi are done simultaneously by two different ladies. However, I noticed that only one lady was working on me while 4 others just paced around and chatted with each other. At first I thought they might have other clients with appointments coming in soon, but nearly an hour passed and they were still not attending other customers. What could have been a 40 minute visit took twice as long. $65 also felt excessive for regular polish, I've gotten gel polish for that amount at other salons. Customer service was also meh - she seemed annoyed when I asked to swap out the color after testing it on one nail and didn't recommend any additional services like at other salons. What was even more frustrating was that by the evening three of my nails were already chipped! Will not be returning, don't recommend!

Well, I work with my hands and whatever I pay for a manicure...it needs to last. I was ecstatic to connect with Sing. Her level of detail was/is unparalleled. At the time I was only tending to my nails very sporadically. When I called to schedule an appointment I learned that she had opened her own place in Spring Valley. It's a farther drive for me but 100% worth it. Since finding Sing I will not go to any other studio regardless of price or convenience of location. I always get French tip on my toes and the line work is perfect, and they NEVER chip. Also, it's very relaxing inside cause you're usually the only patron there or there's maybe one other person so it's calm while you're there. To top it all off, Jenny is always so kind and makes you feel welcomed. Lastly, they are very sanitary and give you the files they used on your toes to ensure they aren't reusing them. They normally have refreshments elevating the experience. Everyone is so friendly and knows each other to a personal level. They have a variety of colors and styles to choose from, and they always do well with designs! I have a hard time going to certain people since I have crooked nail beds so my nails tends to end up crooked.
