Legendz barbershop Owner TIM On May 1, 2025, I made a Venmo transaction for Braids by Sonia, but accidentally sent it to, Tim Dadaba the owner of Legends Barber Shop and my barber at one. I contacted Tim via text, May 1 who indicated receiving an email notification of the transaction (full text messages may be uploaded to Google and Yelp). Nonetheless, Tim agreed to refund the in error payment. On May 2, I contacted Venmo, conveyed the situation, and they provided a case number for Tim to use to reverse the $190 transaction. Although I provided Tim with the case number and instructions of the process, I didn't hear back from him for 3 weeks, by which time I had already disputed the charge with my bank and venmo canceled the claim due to the owner of Legendz failed to contact venmo to dispute the claim (email reply will be attached to Google and Yelp). When communicating with Tim via text, he's insisting that I contact Venmo again to reverse the charges, which I'm unable to do. Tim has sent voice and text messages expressing extreme frustration about the inconvenience and mentioning an issue with his significant other, but I'm unclear how that relates to him taking $190 from me. I've informed him that I've spoken to my bank to dispute the charge. As of today, July 17, 2025 my banking institution finds "no error" thereby reversing the disputed amount of $190.00. The unnecessary waste of my time has led to mental frustration and confusion, resulting in a series of issues including gas, debit card replacement, a new credit card, a Better Business Bureau complaint, public notification through various media outlets, and a small claims court case for $190, plus any additional fees (court & notary) etc. Side note: My transactions with venmo clearly show no transactions between, Tim and myself since August 16, 2023. However, the business I intended to pay reflects $190 transaction on multiple occasions in the past year and a half. My initial interaction with Tim required me to make a deposit for first time consumers per his policy, after the initial visit he reversed the deposit on venmo thereby crediting my account. What sets this transaction apart? The owner of Legendz Barber shop has stolen a $190 invalid payment then later created a scenario to justify stealing my money and needless to say Tim and myself never had an altercation when I was a client. read more

Twist is such an amazing loctician. Over the past 4 years, she has kept my locs happy, healthy and neat. She does a great job with styles, the retwist always last. Her hair special blend of products/oil has done wonders with hair growth. Before going to her, my locs were dry, brittle, thin and falling out . After starting fresh with her, the last 4 years, my hair has thickened, thin or balding spots have grown back and my hair is Thriving. My son saw Zayy Zayy. He was awesome! Took his time to create the cut that my son loved. He will now be a regular client. The barbershop had a great relaxed vibe. I don't usually leave reviews but in all honesty it was by far one of the worst barber shops i've ever been to in my life. The shop looked cool inside so I think that's what I paid $45 for. I booked with Zay and I asked for a taper a line up and the person barely touched my line up with the razor to clean it up. He butchered my hairline and the cut lasted 3 days. The fade was horrible and he covered my line up with enhancements. honestly, you can tell he didn't know what he was doing and he don't have a barber license. By far the worst barber I've ever let cut my hair. If I could give half a star I would. read more

Stopped by because my barbershop was closed. It is a nice business, the people are very friendly, but I was charged $50 for a fade and i immediately had to go to another shop to get my head fixed. I am 100% certain that the kid cutting my hair had no formal training. Anyway, great place to hang out maybe, I wouldn't recommend getting a haircut. read more

Aug. 4th 2018: My third time here and they really take care of the customers. You have a choice to either schedule an appointment or take a chance as a walk-in, either way you will be in and out quicker than most shops and with a great fresh cut, completely satisfied! They have walk-in barbers available if you're on the go but give yourself about a 35-45 minute grace period. We will continue to come here! We appreciate you all at Legendz! 1 Month ago: My second time taking the family here and we all love this place! If you're paying $20 somewhere else, I bet it can't beat the customer service nor the artistry! My one stop shop for ALL STYLES of haircuts! Not from San Diego area, I needed a place for a cut. This place came highly recommended from a family friend. Legendz did not disappoint. I got cut by Larry; friendly, welcoming, great conversation, an all around professional barber, great music and a friendly environment. Price was 30 for the cut. In riverside I pay the same so it's consistent. I was a walk in but there was an available chair, i recommend making an appointment because i can see it getting busy. I asked for a medium fade and to leave my beard because I'm going to shave it myself another time yet the barber did not give me a fade at all and shaved off my beard and I said leave my mustache or my wife is going to be mad and he gave me a pencil mustache let alone making it probably the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life I was a walk-in and they made me wait a very long time when there was a barber open. Wish i could give them half a star or less. They did me wrong by pushing me to the worst barber in there. He had no clue how to cut hair. Asked for a simple fade and a trim on top and he butchered the fade. I had to fix it myself at home and the audacity to charge me $40. It would've been an easier and more delightful experience to be mugged in a side alley than daylight robbery here. Never going back there again even if this was the last barbershop in the world!! I really don't know how this place is rated so highly. HORRIBLE SERVICE. First of all, the kid I booked my appointment with "Gee" completely ghosted the appointment. Scheduled with him for 6:15 pm 04/05/2023 and completely ghosted. I walked in and the guys said he left do you wanna call him?? Lol. I drove out to this place so I picked up a spot with "AB". Didn't notice these guys so close to where I live before so I popped into Legendz Barbershop in La Mesa and was greeted by Isaac. Spoke to him for a little bit and told him my former stylist retired after 20 years and I was looking to build a new relationship. Soon after her retirement, Covid hit so my wife cut my hair for a while, then I bounced around a few places but I just didn't like my look. Made an appointment with Isaac later that day and he didn't disappoint. Great attention to detail and great "chair side manner," and the price was fair. I think I found my new stylist! I never leave bad reviews but I have to for this. I Had a apt for 11 am for my son . I walked in at 10:55 am &we waited inside the shop until 11:30. the barber Keith was a no show . No text, no call, nothing .We tried to call and text, no respond. Had another apt scheduled right after @ 12 same thing. Just got a text saying the 11 am apt was cancelled but nothing for the 12 pm apt so the money has yet been refunded. The apt was confirmed the day before. It is completely unprofessional and shows no customer service . I would recommend going elsewhere for a cut. At least a text or call to inform your customer you are running late or can't make it. I come from a family of cosmetologists of 50+ years so yes I understand how it is and it is really disappointing. Take your money elsewhere. Came by the shop to have my hair cut because my car was across the street getting worked on. The shop has a nice feel to it. Everyone is very friendly and I felt like I was hanging at a friend's house while waiting for my turn. Lo cut my hair. She was very nice and professional. I also like the fact I was supporting a young entrepreneur. I believe Tim is the owner and he was at the shop as well. I live a good distance away in Mira Mesa but I think I'll be back to have my hair cut here again. It was nice to come to a barber shop that was more than a clipper buzz place. They are artists. Every time I've entered the shop the staff has always greeted me which in turn has allowed me to feel like a priority. As a customer I appreciate the good customer service. Moving onto my barber. He's always on time, he always pay close attention to detail, and he is very attentive when it comes to giving me the haircut that I request whether it be through a picture or an idea that I may of come up with. Was a walk in. No one greeted me or let me know the wait would be significant. I waited 2 hours to get a cut. Multiple times throughout they tell me I'm next up but keep seating other people walking in after me. They spend an hour cutting peoples hair for basic fade or trim. I've never paid so much for a mediocre cut on top of wasting most of my day off for a cut. Tell me when I walk in it's going to be a two hour wait so I do t waste my time. Not going back.
