Went here Saturday because it had at least 4 stars and it was open late-ish for 3 pedicures. Unfortunately it was the most underwhelming pedicure I've had in a long time. All the relaxing parts of a pedicure were essentially absent and, sadly the polish job was pretty sub-par (see picture for reference). It seems as though I booked basic pedinures and should have gone for the deluxe. My mom recently moved into the area and we wanted to get our nails done for a wedding. We called the day of and we're able to make an appointment for later that day. We both got mani-pedis and gel on our fingers. Everyone was very nice, professional and made us feel welcome. We both are very happy with our nails, but I think Linda was the best with my gel manicure. If we need to get or nails done again we will definitely be returning. I've lived in NOVATO for 5+ years now and somehow have only just now found this place! All of the ladies working there were incredibly kind, they were also able to accommodate my very last minute (essentially walk-in) appt for both a full set and pedicure even though it was pushing closing time. I didn't make an appointment so I was a walk-in customer. They greeted and welcomed me kindly. I got fit in immediately for a basic pedicure (30 min.) I have been getting my eyebrows done by Linda for almost 2 years. I am very particular about my eyebrows and how they are shaped. Linda is just as detailed oriented, she perfects my eyebrows every time! She listens to what shape I want and truly cares about her work. Over the past few years we have grown to know each other and I must say, she is such a kind, intelligent woman. I went there for a basic manicure and pedicure with my wife, a day or two later both of our cuticles were pealing and the cuticle areas were red on all of our fingers. Not only that, we paid $50 dollars each for this. Very bad service and unprofessional staff. The one staff member sounded so congested as if she could barely talk without coughing up. I read the other review below on my phone... after I had gotten a pedicure done and was waiting for my manicure! I was so shocked and began to observe the actions there. First off, while my mother and I were starting, a few regulars I guess came in and we were all shuffled around and it seemed they put me and my mother on hold while they tended to the regulars. I was waiting nearly 15 mins to get my manicure done... and I hate sitting around in salons for nothing wasting my time; I want to get in and get it done to get out! If they just hurried up and did my manicure right away I would've gotten out 30 mins earlier; my mother was done and waiting for me. Also, after reading the review, I noticed that they did not scrub down the massage chair's footbaths after each person (I see this all the time at other salons), they would just drain and refill. And when she sat down to do my manicure (finally), she just had her tools in a basket she brought with her; don't they usually pull what they need out of the BARBICIDE at the SIDE of the table!??!?!?! Also the little soap tray they leave your hand in while doing the other felt gritty; and afterward there were tiny black grains around my nails, like sand. I hate saying this but I wish we could do half stars, because at least the woman who did my nails was cheerful and cute. And also, there was a dog running around. Let me preface with saying I'm very particular in where I get my nails done. Linda and her team (Kim & Tina) have been doing my nails for a few years now. The shop is very clean and efficient. They always accommodate my last minute request and do an amazing job. My nails never chip or peel (I get a gel manicure, regular polish for pedicures), and I've never been cut/injured by them. An absolute disaster! This may be long, but READ!!! I am on business and my hotel is close to the salon and my nails weren't going to be able to wait until I am back home to get the acrylic filled. So I decided to go. BAD, BAD, BAD decision. I went in and told the older woman that I wanted a water manicure because my cuticles like to stick to my nail beds and I wanted them pushed back so that my fill would last as long as possible. And that since I had glitter acrylic on the tips all I wanted was the fill and that was IT. And i'm a cosmetologist....I know what I wanted...and why....'nuff said, right? Apparently not. I also told her I wanted the pink powder....oh gawd... She took 5-7 minutes looking around for something mumbling and I had no idea what she was doing....then she comes up to me and opens a pink acrylic powder and says "is that pink?" Oh crap...I should have walked out then but I figured perhaps by way of language barrier she just wanted to make sure that was the shade of pink I wanted? After all there are other shades of pink and I know this... Guess I gave her too much credit because.... Again, I wanted a manicure first....And what does she start doing?! FILING DOWN MY NAILS THAT I TOLD HER NOT TO TOUCH! she then starts cutting out the parts of the acrylic that lifted and filing it with a nail file and dremmel...okay I figured maybe she just wanted all that done prior to the manicure....again....wrong...she automatically then starts filling in the acrylic....I asked if I could wash my hands first..she says no.....oh man oh man... I asked about the manicure and she assured me she knew what she was doing....ackkkk....maybe she had different procedures than EVERYONE else I know or have ever been to? She didn't even use enough acrylic....didn't cover everything....not going over the entire nail and applying over old filed powder from the filing and dremmel...didn't go all the way up to my cuticle.... While filling she went from one nail back to the previous back and forth over and over....oh lordy.....serious? Once she was done I asked again if I could finally wash my hands and she again said no and that she was going to put the UV top coat on....WHHHHAAAAAAT? I have dirty powder stuff everywhere......even worse because I could see she used previously used files and such which is NOT Legal Because they couldn't possibly have been disinfected properly.....and I was stunned..... After the UV Gel topcoat dried she then put cuticle oil on my nails and said my cuticles were fine and I just needed to make sure I put lotion and cuticle oil on every now and then and that I didn't need to spend another 10 bucks for something she thought I didn't need....and I explained to her that at this point she had already put acrylic over the parts of my cuticle I wanted pushed back and nipped off so it was a moot point.... and then she stared at me for a moment.....and then said "okay...$20...thank you" So now I have nails that look like they are still grown out just not lifting and i'm out $20 bucks... It's so easy to write a review when you are dissatisfied but we often forget to tell people when they do a wonderful job. I found Linda (Lash extensions) on google early June. She got me in right away and did a wonderful job at a much more reasonable price than many other places in Novato (and they aren't as good). Linda is quick, charming, kind and her lashes are wonderful. Today was my 3rd visit -each time they last at least one month -this time I got busy and it was almost 5 weeks. They still looked good but it was time. I'm glad I found her. I seriously recommend you come try her out. Linda does a great spray on french Mani and Kim is one of my favorite people in the world. They are so sweet every time I come in. I've been coming to this salon for years. They are really friendly and amazing ppl. The owner does a really good job on my nails which makes me unable to go anywhere else. Sometimes they get really busy and I would have to end up waiting, but I still don't mind it. I've been to other salon which I've waited for about an hour before. I just cannot stand the dog that runs around the place. It's just gross. Plus they always have a tv on in the back part of the room that you are stuck listening to. It is not relaxing at all. The mani and pedi I have gotten in the past is bad quality. My nails are always scuffed and nicked. They re-use the toe separators from client to client and I have never ever seen them clean tools let alone foot baths for the next new client that walks in. Ugh, save your $20 and go elsewhere. I even went the day before my wedding to get my nails done here. And they fudged the job and then complained that they had to do a french manicure. I guess the girl I had didnt like doing them and kept asking me if I really wanted it. My sister's nail job was awful. They did her mani in less than 10 mins and it looked like crap.
