Either they leak or all lopsided or some other problem When I brought it up to the attention of the front desk person, she antagonized and told she will report it to her boss that I complained! This is a review as a guest of a member. I stopped in twice to EOS during the holiday because my gym is closed. Went on a Tuesday afternoon and a Saturday morning during the holiday week. Mornings seem to be the way to go. I appreciate the variety of equipment though I notice that whatever isn't bolted down may be moved and may never be returned to it's original location. Do members just move them to a spot and abandon when the workout is done? Does it ever get reorganized? On that Saturday on the indoor "Yard", there was pile of kettle bells, maybe 10, varying in weight on the floor. No one using them. Random plates and plyo box sitting there too. Aside from gym rats, I can see why someone would be at the gym for longer than necessary, hunting down needed items for their workout. There are only two TRX straps setup in the entire gym; one in the "Cave" and the other in the "Yard". In the Cave, folks post up underneath the TRX strap only doing floor exercises. I tried to unclip it to move to another rack but the carabiner is locked (or maybe it's my error.) Most of my workout can be done in the Cave with the exception of having to walk back and forth to the other TRX strap. Noticed not a majority of folks wipe equipment after use. From another part of the gym, my husband messaged me that there was dandruff all over the headrest. Ick. I don't use any of the other amenities - fitness classes, lockers/locker room. Big box gyms are just not for me. I may continue to use EOS from time to time or until my husband decides to cancel his membership. read more

This is one of my go-to gyms whenever I get off work early and have time to squeeze in a workout. The gym is clean, the equipment is in good condition, and there's plenty of variety for whatever you're training that day. Staff has always been friendly, and I've never had any issues here. I've been to at least 10 different EOS between Cali, AZ, NV, and FL. Although this isn't my favorite, it's worth my monthly fee and has sufficient machines to do a great workout. Not certain why this place has such ill reviews. For a $10 to $30 a month gym, I expect imperfections. This isn't a Lifetime Fitness. I recommend. read more

I've been feeling stiff and achy lately and I was thinking I really need to get back to a yoga practice. Well, that thought was reciprocated when a friend asked me to come with her as her guest to take a yoga class.. sign me up! I met her at the gym, the parking lot was insanity. There were kids everywhere, cars were circling over and over again and masses were entering and exiting the gym. I got lucky and found a spot right away. It was a cold gray day. When entered the gym, it was warm, but not too hot. There was a very strong perfume smell in the entrance area which I didn't love, but I'd rather smell that than sweat. Sign up was quick and easy and the staff was welcoming and friendly. As I walked to the changing room I noticed how crazy packed it was, shocking really. All areas seemed clean when walking by and the changing room was no exception. The yoga room was huge and pretty full but everyone fit. I grabbed a mat and props and found a spot near the front. The teacher was pretty clear explaining the poses as well as sharing some anecdotes which made her very approachable. We focused on back, legs and hips. My poor body was hating me but it felt good to be back on the mat! I would come again but not sure I'd join, it's just far too crowded. EoS-Oceanside: Another great EoS location in SD county that we were able to check out. We really like this location!! Machines were functioning properly, clean and not rusted... I especially liked that the Triceps Press machine had a different grip that allowed me to increase the weight I'm able to lift. Parking is ample but could get busy at peak hours. Staff are very friendly. Would definitely return when we're in the area. read more

Was traveling for the weekend and EOS Oceanside was the local gym close enough for me. Plenty of machines open throughout the gym in the morning, around 7-8am. I used the treadmill and recovery rooms for this visit. Recovery massage room was clean and easy to use. The hyperice recovery room was organized and clean. Very spacious and easy to use. Overall a great stop to get some cardio and recovery in for the day! read more

BUYER BEWARE: Personal Training "Freeze" No Charges I like the gym and the trainers -- this review is specifically about the personal training billing system. At EOS, a "freeze" does NOT mean you won't be charged again, and that is not made clear enough. What I was not clearly told: A freeze can automatically expire Billing can restart without written notice Your card can be charged again unless you proactively stop it There was no email, no text, no clear date saying "billing resumes on X day." This is a serious problem because people usually freeze training due to injury, illness, or life stress -- exactly when you're least able to monitor fine print or billing cycles. If a member says "I need this to stop and I can't be charged anymore," and the system translates that into "we'll pause it and restart billing later unless you catch it," that's not informed consent. That's relying on confusion. The trainers themselves are not the issue. The billing system is misleading. If you don't want to be charged again: Get everything in writing Ask specifically for cancellation, not a freeze Watch your card closely I'm staying a member because I like the gym -- but I will never use personal training again under this system. Sorry. I don't like negative reviews but, wow. I was wanting to check out the gym so I came in to take a tour back in June. Lots of questions for me, pretty good tour, but then it didn't end great. First, I was bummed the "deal" that caught my attention online for the start up fee was actually missing the yearly fee that you pay upfront. I went back online and saw the tiny font at the bottom that explained that part lol. That was the first no no... I was not ready to commit at all. It was my first stop and truly was just thinking about joining the gym. Was it Kyle? I can't recall his name. He asked me if I wanted to join today and I said no. I said I wanted to chat with my husband to process and check out other gyms...and he said well why don't you call him now? I was taken back. In my past years of gym lookin', it was never a pushy experience. I told him id rather not and rather do it alone so he suggested that I go outside to call him. I said no thanks. He then started asking questions to somehow make me think I needed to join today...I got up and let him know I knew they worked on commission and would be back and use his name if I decided to join. I could tell he wasn't happy I left. I don't care how amazing a gym is...I felt SO uncomfortable with how pushy he was and I felt very much like his paycheck vs a valued costumer. I get it, times are tough, and his job most likely relies on sign ups, but EOS, hire better, train better, or change your commission because that was no fun for me. I wouldn't have minded too much from that experience above, BUT I then got weekly and then monthly calls, text messages and voice messages. I let him know I decided on something else but the phone calls and texts kept coming. I finally "opted out" of the texts (these ones were auto sent) and I still just got a call today and it's been 3 months. I visited 2 other gyms afterwards and there was NO pressure, only smiles and helpful workers. PS: Please stop calling :) read more

Don't Sign Up for the 1$ to start up and Cancel any time Scam. I recently signed up but quickly noticed that it just wouldn't work since the location is more out of my way then I thought did not check in once. I had called multiple times to cancel and talk to a manager and until my 4th call after 3 days I got a hold of someone to cancel and said I had to Pay 90$ in fees to cancel. Usually places do care about the customer and said I couldn't waive fees unless I had evidence of military leave or orders which seemed odd and personal and completely unnecessary for a gym to know. Either way I asked the GM for the district OM email and sent an email never heard back if I could go all the way to the top I would but this review is not sm about the staff who work there who I completely understand it's just there job this is to get the attention of district managers who don't care about there customers. I will pay the 90$ to cancel and hope they don't charge me anymore going forward because I will never be coming here not even again because I have never even checked in. read more

So many guys using cameras and video cameras to film themselves in the locker room. Ive never seen anything like this. They stand there in front of the mirrors in groups filming each other. When was a locker room not a safe place to shower and change! This gym has some good things, but the staff is too scared to govern the members that act a complete fool. No more cameras in the bathroom!! That is so against privacy and decency laws. Have a backbone and do somethjng about it. read more

They have great staff that are friendly I have a family membership with my sister and still gives us access to guest passes and all the classes. The app is easy to use as well. CROWDED!!! It was already kind of hard to come to the gym and work out with having to wait for something but since this year started it's just been demotivated No matter what time you come, no matter what you want to do, it's always crowded, especially on weekday afternoons. Good luck if that's when you wanted to come, because for leg exercises you sometimes have to wait in line behind 6-8 people, the same goes for using the back pulleys and any bench or machine for chest exercises, etc. It's not a bad gym; in fact, I think it has good facilities, but it's excessively crowded. I know the point of this business is to have members, but this is a bit much. I guess it's also the time of year, but seriously, even finding a parking spot is very difficult, and people constantly drive somewhat aggressively just to get one before you. My personal recommendation, find somewhere else read more

I just joined the gym a few days ago and so far, I really like it! The staff at the front desk are super friendly, and the equipment is great. I'm giving 3 stars mainly for two reasons. First, I was surprised to see dogs allowed in the gym. I love animals, but there's a time and place for pets and I don't think the gym floor is one of them... its butt right where I put my head to do ab exercises.- not exactly ideal. It wasn't a service dog, just a regular pet. Second, I had a personal training session booked for an hour, but when I showed up, I was told the trainer wasn't available. A quick heads-up or alert would've been really helpful. Aside from those things, I'm enjoying the gym and hope to see some improvements in these areas! read more

Great classes (though they're often uncomfortably packed). You can't beat the price. Great value for classes, lots of cardio equipment (with good ceiling fans), a movie room with cardio equipment. The only negatives (that I've told the management about via a survey) is that the stretching and core area usually have mismatched, or missing, free weights - drives me nuts! The other thing is if you're going there to only do free weights, be prepared for a lot of muscle and fitness guys (& women in lots of spandex) dominating the area, staring at their phones even when they're done working out. The last thing is if you're going there for a class, plan to get there at least 15 min early or more bc the parking lot is always PACKED!!! I have no idea why but it's been extremely frustrating some mornings trying to find a parking spot at 7:45 am!! But again, good value. read more

Only three stalls in the bathroom, one out of order the next one with no toilet paper. So only one working toilet. I asked the staff to restock the toilet paper, took my time. Shaving finally went back. The staff member had been there but the toilet paper was not replaced. Not only did they not replace the toilet paper, they didn't bother to check the soap. They apparently cannot think on their own and understand what customer service would be. No one wants to enter a shower naked with no soap available or take a dump and find out there's no toilet paper. read more

It's a nice gym has a huge floor with all the weights and machines you could imagine. Nice pool. But in the men's locker room the sauna does not have a drain. Meaning as we all sweat in the sauna that moisture is just evaporating and getting inhaled. Install a drain so the fluids can run out. The locker is finally smelling better as they have started cleaning it better. read more

Couldn't cancel online (said I had the wrong password - went to change the password and no email to change the password came to my inbox or spam) attempted to cancel on multiple days with no luck. I was just harassed by Sunjay(GM). I've been coming here since 2019 and never been harassed. I asked Sunjay to please walk away over a dozen times and kept harassing me. I come once a week to EOS with my son. I've been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for 30 years at over 25 locations. I used to live in SD for 20 years and now live in OC. I only come to this gym with my son. I've been in the restaurant business and local community for 35 years. There's better ways of handling things. This has been one of the most unprofessional experience. I paid extra for a 16 weeks with the personal trainer. Today is the 2nd time she has canceled my appointment. My 1st appointment Was May 8th at 12:30 however she canceled that appointment. She asked me when I was available I gave her my schedule and SHE picked a time that worked for her. I booked the appt and showed up today at 7:30am to do my work out. Elida walks up to me to tell me although we booked an appt 10 days ago through text SHE didn't put it in the computer so she is not able to do my session. This has been so frustrating. It is not cheap for personal training. They have had no problem taking my money the only problem is her finding time to follow through with our appointments. I am very disappointed that I choose this gym and paid extra to be perked around. I would NOT recommend signing up for any extra services with this location. I do not know about other locations but this is the biggest waste of my money and time read more

Avoid This Gym at All Costs! If I could give zero stars, I would. I signed up for a membership at this gym and made sure to follow their exact instructions to cancel when I no longer needed it. Despite this, they failed to cancel my membership and continued to charge me after my husband got orders out of state. Now, I'm stuck with a bill for over $300 for a membership I haven't used or wanted! Their customer service is non-existent. I've called, and they seem to not care or take responsibility for their mistake. Instead, I get the runaround and am told there's "nothing they can do" and pay all that money! They first went on to say I have to go in person to cancel and after I told them that I did, then proceed to say you should of called their billing department. Which one is it? This gym is a complete scam. They trap you with contracts and make it impossible to cancel, even when you follow their policies. I had a perosanal trainer, and they told me that I could cancel anytime then when i tried to cancel they said I'm in a 3 month contact and they could not cancel it! All lies!! Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place unless you want to deal with unnecessary stress and wasted money. If you do decide to get a membership and cancel make sure to get some type of confirmation that it was ACTUALLY cancelled. This place also smells really bad! I had to hold my breath everytime I'd go into the womens bathroom, and decided to go to the Ladera Ranch location because it was exremely over crowded.
