After calling around to price an oil change, the phone manners and explanation at this family operated auto shop for the bill( synthetic blend, middle weight?). Call it intuition , one hour later- done!! I'm from out of state and was looking ahead to a grueling summer road trip. E called me about my filthy air filter, saved it for my inspection, and $16 later ... I was out of there......after lots of conversation, and affirmation from another single woman there. Edgar is really a patient and helpful guy. I was stupid to keep my sunroof open last weekend and the result as it should be, the rain wet all the carpet and seats of my car. I asked several car shops, this is the one with the highest review and the lowest price. Edgar removed all my seats out and lift my carpet, dry them and then spray one kind of liquid to prevent mold, he also wiped up all the waters underneath the carpet as well. if the mechanics would have done their job correctly they would have caught that I needed a new heater thermostat. Instead they replaced radiator hoses, and let me drive off the lot with a check engine light on. The next couple of days my car was overheating again!!!!! I'm furious. If they would have conducted better test I wouldn't have had to fork out more money to pay for a new coolant reservoir, and possibly not pay for new radiator hoses when they fixed my heater hoses. Paying out almost $163 for a radiator hoses to e and e automotive and having to pay $130 for a new coolant reservoir to an actual trusted mechanic. I could have saved it all if e and e automotive would have initially replaced my my heater thermostat. Maybe after venting this out publicly they will learn to take care of their customers better Instead of letting them drive off with a check engine light on. According to them everything seemed okay . After reading the one star reviews I've noticed that a lot of individuals stated overcharged. I always felt that way as well. read more

My 2009 Ford Escape decided just not start while I was out running errands between Midtown and Upper Kirby. Stranded in a shopping center parking lot on Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm is not my idea of fun. I had NO IDEA what suddenly made my vehicle not start - normally there would be warning signs. Anyways, I decided I would utilize Yelp to find a place nearby that I could have my auto club tow my vehicle to. By FAR E and E had the best reviews of my fellow Yelpers. Not just 1 or 2 but MANY satisfied Yelpers. I was convinced that E & E was the place to take my car and I was NOT disappointed. The tow truck dropped my car off at 2:30 pm on Friday afternoon and after just a few minutes the diagnostic of a new starter was given (I knew it wasn't the battery as I had replaced that myself just a week prior). Then I braced for the repair cost and the pricing was VERY fair - definitely less than I anticipated and broken down by parts and labor. These guys talk to you as customer/friend not AT you like some auto repair places that treat you like you know nothing. My repair was completed within 2 1/2 hours (I lived only a short distance away so waited at home for the call) and my car has run perfectly since. I most definitely will now return to E & E for maintenance issues, oil change, etc. as I trust they will do good work and be fair in their pricing. That's a difficult combination to find in the world of Auto Repair - My experience with E & E has made me a return customer. read more

I happened to stumble on this gem of an autoshop from a random google search near my new residence. I don't give many places 5 stars, but I'll give Erick's Auto Center 5 stars for being honest. I took my car in for a check engine light, they replaced one part, but the light kept coming on, they since have tried other repairs and replaced a part without charging me, when they easily could have. Those check engine lights can be tricky, I've had problems with them in all the cars I've owned. Next my AC decided to start intermittently bugging out, at first they couldn't find the problem, and of course the AC worked fine when I brought it in. I left and then the AC cut out completely on a Friday night, they took me in even though it was after closing, found the bad relay and gave me a quick fix (swapping the high beam relay) and told me really I could go buy the part from the dealer and do it myself. wow... any other money grubbin mechanic could have charged me for the relay and labor. they charged me... nothing. As long as I'm in Houston, they have a customer. read more

I just love these guys. They repair your car fast, they repair it right, and they charge you a fair price. I've gotten several issues repaired at Erick's over the course of about two years. Each time, they clearly outline the problem, correctly estimate the price, and repair it as promised. They have never tried to upsell me on repairs I don't need and have even shown me / given me the broken parts after the repair w/o me asking. And they LISTEN to you. As a woman at an auto shop, this is highly appreciated. Once, when they fixed a broken motor in my ventilation system and I had paid and was ready to leave, the owner's son (who pretty much runs things) noticed that the repaired blower was still making a rattling noise. I didn't have time to wait around that day so he told me to come back another day and they would clean out the leaves and debris, that had gotten into the system over the course of the car's life, for free. True to his word, I brought the car back a week later and his crew took out the whole thing (dashboard and all) so they could clean out the debris. As promised, I left with no charge! The only thing to be aware of is that you will probably have to call them to get an update on your car even if they promise they will call. This rarely actually happens. But seriously, take your car here. You'll be lucky to get such a good mechanic in Houston! read more

I took my truck over to Erick's for some major engine overhaul work. I had a couple of long conversations with Aldo about exactly what I wanted done and he assured me they could do the job. After not hearing anything for 3 weeks ( I knew the job was involved) I called and was told the truck would be ready the next day. That sounded great. I went over after 2 days expecting to get me vehicle only to find that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING had been done to it. Supposedly the one guy who was to do the work had left and there was no replacement. AND no phone call to me in the +3 weeks to tell me that nothing was going on. Unbelievable!!! I will never go there. Now I am looing for some place else to do the work. read more

They are polite, responsive and take the time to explain what is going on with your truck/car so you understand the issue. They do not try to oversell and are very fair in pricing. I took my truck to them for a second opinion after receiving a transmission rebuild sentence from another shop. I was not convinced this was the problem - having owned my truck since 2003 - and after telling them the back story of when the issue began, as I did the first shop - they searched out the real problem and saved me a ton of money. I still have lots of preventative maintenance to do on the old gal and I will definately be taking it straight to Edgar & Aldo. I would like to add my praise to this shop. I brought my car in for the first time last week after searching for local auto mechanics and seeing the positive reviews. I can now count myself among their many satisfied customers. I had a very troublesome electric problem that I had been trying to diagnose/fix myself for several weeks without success. They found the problem and fixed it immediately without any trouble. I also needed my brakes checked and my AC system converted to R-134. I was expecting a bill much higher than it turned out to be, and they did not replace/repair anything that didn't need it. VERY happy to have my car back running again, I WILL be back, and I would STRONGLY recommend this shop to anyone. read more
