I passed by needing my tire to be checked out. Jafar was super helpful, even though they were closed he took the time to evaluate my tire to see what the issue was. I wasn't able to get it fixed at the current moment due to them being closed, and I wasn't exactly wanting to take the time to do that at the moment anyway. He was great, he put air in the tire and quoted me for a new one, all in about 10 minutes. He was also able to tell just by me pulling up that my car has an oil leak, he was able to smell it. Honest service! Took my car in to see if I needed new tires since the tread depth was looking a little low to my untrained eyes. AA went out and looked at all the tires on my car and told me I didn't need any new ones, and they told me to instead come back in 2 years! Delightful surprise: oil change performed elsewhere disclosed near-empty radiator reservoir suggesting failing water pump. Went directly to Greg for second opinion. He's been my go-to for over 5 years and has always delivered superb service. I was prepared for a $600-700 repair however 3 hours later received the welcome news that a loose hose clamp was the culprit. Total charge: $30 ! Smart, honest, and efficient...what more could one ask Want to add another positive experience: I discovered a sheet metal screw in my front tire last night. Was reluctant to remove it out of concern for rapid deflation. AA took me right in this morning; no wait. Good news: screw had not penetrated. They did bubble check and all great. I was able to drop my car off the evening before my appointment. (The reason for a 4 instead of 5 star review is the lack of a key drop box.). They diagnosed the problem, called for permission to do the work and finished repairs by 3pm. The cost was reasonable. I was able to pay over the phone by credit card and pick up the car without going inside. The entire process was appropriately contact free. I was very pleased and will use them again. AA is one of those shops. Adrian works at the front desk, he is polite and easy to talk to ( I had a lot of questions about cars). Also I would like to tell the gentleman that worked on my car and opened the car door for me, that his big smile and kindness was appreciated. In the past for a synthetic oil change, I have always paid $100.00. AA charged $75.00 and fixed my tire among other things. This is one of those places tucked along Shepherd between Westheimer and San Felipe that's easy to miss, but worth finding if you looking for knowledgable and honest car repair. Unlike the "big chains" it appears to be family run with a focus on giving you what you need, at a reasonable price in the time they promised vs. selling you everything under the sun. I think they actually care about their reputation and doing right by their customers - and it shows. I really wouldn't take my car anywhere else now. The first time I took my car in was for brakes that squealed when I backed up. I know nothing about cars and all I could think was "Oh no, how much is that going to set me back?" Turned out, they told me, that my brakes were glazed - oooohhhhh, no. Then they told me, if I could live with the occasional squeal they didn't need replacing or well, anything. But, if not, they'd change them for me, but they didn't necessarily recommend it as they presented no hazard. Wow. I've since had them do everything from tune ups to fixing windows that will no longer go up. They always go out of their way to find the most reasonable parts and solutions, keep me informed of what they are doing and how long it will take and delivering what they promise. I brought my car in a couple weeks ago because I was having issues with my car battery. I called in advance to get a quote and compare with other mechanic shops highly recommended on Yelp. I was a little disappointed when I got my bill because it was $30+ more than the quote they told me over the phone (I think he just quoted me parts and not labor and taxes - something I should have asked and clarified) so if you call for a quote, be sure to clarify so you don't get a surprise with your bill! Anyways, the repair was done incredibly fast - under 20 minutes - which I appreciated since I had my two children with me (2 kids under 3 yrs...). Boyd did the repair and he was very friendly and thorough. He even showed me what he was doing and answered all my questions. Fast forward to today - my car was dead AGAIN. I was really frustrated and concerned that maybe it was the alternator this time. After getting a boost, I drove my car to the shop and Boyd looked at it again. He tested the alternator and it was testing low so they told me it would be $250 for the part and $100 for labor. He also told me he'd take out my battery (it came with a 5 year warranty) and exchange it with a better one at no charge. After switching it out, they tested the alternator again and this time it was looking good. Boyd said he suspected there was a "short" in the battery they put in two weeks ago and he explained some other things to me that I didn't entirely understand because of his slight accent. Anyways, I wasn't charged anything today, which is fantastic, but I'm still a little uneasy about the battery situation and why the first one they put in only lasted 2 weeks. I just pray and hope that this new one will prove its worth and I'm glad I have a warranty to rely on. Overall, the staff was friendly and the service was quick. I'm not sure if repair costs are reasonable, so to be on the safe side compare with other well rated mechanics before you bring your car in. read more

Saw the good reviews on Yelp and decided to go in. I was in & out quickly and got great service. They even kept a straight face when they had to tell me it was my own fault the A/C wasn't working :) It was blatantly apparent that I knew nothing and they still didn't push to upsell. They mentioned another issue with the car but said it's not critical, gave me an estimate, and said they'd take care of it any time I felt like coming back in. A huge relief from the normal auto repair places that use more of a scare tactic to get me to concede to doing additional work!! They did mention that they were slow yesterday so normally I would've had more of a wait, but I'll happily risk it and go back for friendly honest service. read more

Even though they were very busy, they changed the destroyed tire within half an hour, ordered a new tire, declined payment in advance for the new tire, and charged me a minimal payment for changing the spare. Brought my car here yesterday, after running a diagnostic at another workshop, the owner there quoted me a ridiculous price to fix the problems with my car. My check engine light was on, and after talking to Greg about it, he told me that he could order the parts to fix the problem and it would be done in an hour, and the price was much more reasonable than the price quoted to me by the other workshop. When the repairs were done, Greg asked me if I wanted to pay using cash or card, paying by card would cost an extra $15 but I told him card since I didn't have enough cash on hand at that time, he then pointed me to an ATM nearby where I could withdraw cash which I did.
