Yelp to the rescue again. Reviews were solid, so I checked it out. Wow, the service was quick and fast. Came in as a walk-in for my yearly state inspection. The parking lot was full, so I was not sure how it was going to go. But Omar did the inspection in 15 minutes with zero wait time . And he talked to me about some other services as well.

My first preference for some thing automobile-related is now Noah Auto Care. The body of workers never attempts to upsell pointless upkeep and is truthful and informed. My vehicle was constant extra fast than I had anticipated after they took the time to give an explanation for what changed into wrong with it. I felt stable in their process once I left, and the pricing changed into affordable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finding a shop that really prioritizes its customers is fresh.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

$25 quick in and out for the annual car inspection. I love when folks keep it simple and don't try to rip you off.

This also means a lot being a young woman and first time car owner. Every time I've been here, I walked in and the service that I wanted was done within 30 minutes. They have a comfortable waiting room with waters, coffee, armchairs, etc. They also updated me about the state of my vehicle and performed extra services as needed, for instance they filled my tires with air and refilled my windshield wiper fluid (without me asking) and free of charge! MD Automotive goes the extra mile to make sure I can keep on rocking and rolling, and as a relative newbie to Houston and vehicle ownership, they really make me feel like my car is being well taken care of. I cannot speak on the quality of their repair services which I noticed make up most of their poor reviews, but for oil changes and regular service, I will definitely be coming back here!

I had my minivan here for an engine light on and my regular mechanic was closed for the weekend. When it was finished I told him I needed to drive to Dallas the next day. He said it would be fine. The van literally broke down on the way home and I had to have it towed back. When I got it back there were muddy footprints on my seats and the employee said they had to drive it 100 MILES to make sure the engine light didn't come back on. I had to spend more money to rent a car to go to Dallas. If your car needs more than an inspection seek someplace else.

I rarely leave reviews, so this should say a lot…read more I brought my 2018 Volvo S90 to Eric's Car Care for an A/C diagnostic because the air was blowing hot. I had a scheduled appointment and dropped my car off around 7:00-7:30 a.m. on Friday, yet I didn't get my vehicle back until Monday. I also never received an update call--I had to call them myself. While delays can happen, my real concern is the accuracy and honesty of the information I was given. After their inspection, I was told my vehicle needed a new A/C compressor, condenser, and expansion valve, bringing the total repair cost to $6,411.07, including labor. That is a major expense, so I declined the service and sought a second opinion. I then took my car to Alpine Motor Works, where they identified the actual issue: a leaking Freon valve. They replaced the valve and recharged the A/C system, fully resolving the problem for $205.65 total. There is no reasonable explanation for being told I needed over $6,000 in repairs when the real issue was a minor leak. This feels extremely misleading and unprofessional. I was even encouraged to finance the repair and pay off the balance within 90 days, which now feels even more concerning given how unnecessary those repairs turned out to be. Being given such drastically incorrect information after a diagnostic is unacceptable. Customers rely on shops to provide honest assessments, not inflated repair recommendations. I will not be returning, and I strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before committing to major repairs here.

One star is too generous. Eric's Car Care seems friendly up front -- but once something goes wrong,…read moreit becomes delays, excuses, and attempted add-on charges. Unfortunately, my experience matches what other reviewers have described. Also, this company has a few unresolved BBB complaints recently. In May 2022, they installed a throttle body on my 2007 Ford Explorer. Shortly afterward, the vehicle began having intermittent stalling, and it has steadily worsened. A throttle body should last 100,000 miles or the life of the vehicle, so this kind of failure this soon after installation is unacceptable. Last week, a second mechanic at a Yelp four-star shop inspected it and said the throttle body was "faulty out of the box" and not a Motorcraft or Original Equipment Supplier part. When I brought the vehicle back to Eric's, they kept it for three full days, then told me "nothing is wrong" and attempted to charge me $125 to "look into it" -- exactly the kind of delay and added fees others have warned about. The manager blamed the delay on having only one mechanic and my vehicle being "in line." To make it worse, they claimed the warranty had expired, but when I asked for the signed warranty documentation, they couldn't produce it. If you're going to deny coverage, you should be able to provide the paperwork you say I agreed to. Run -- don't walk -- away from this shop.

The wait was minimal, the customer service was excellent, and the overall process was smooth. Jordan was the first to assist me and noted that I can park my vehicle in the back and leaving the keys in the car. I went into their lobby area, where I was able to enjoy one of their refrigerated water bottles. The room is small and I managed to pass the time while working on my laptop. (#1) 10 minutes into the wait, my vehicle was ready. Michael was helpful in explainig the process to me and the total cost was $18.50. He provided the paperwork that I needed for proof and I was out of the door. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star? They left my car running outside of the garage unattended for at least several minutes while I was chatting with them in the office. Anyone could've walked up from the street and taken the vehicle. I was prepared to wait an hour so I went for a walk down the street, and then 10-15min I got a call. They were working on my car and wanted to check and make sure they were using my preferred synthetic oil. They also wanted to make me aware that my coolant was very low, they used a flashlight to show how shallow. They also showed me that there was corrosion on my battery and that my engine block air filter needed replacing. I told them that I actually had a filter in the car, and since the screws were stripped I asked if I could just put in the filter myself. They went ahead and installed it for me feee of charge. They also rang me up while they were finishing up instead of after they were 100% completed, which o appreciated. The price was more expensive that I remembered in the past, but the employees were kind, helpful, and they got me in and out in a timely manner. Some tips: Always look online to see if you can find jiffy lube coupons. I just googled "jiffy lube coupons," there was a jiffy lube site coupon that I could email to myself and use at checkout. Also, being that it was towards the end of the day I think the crew worked quicker so they didn't have to hang around longer. I would recommend showing up with plenty of time, but more towards the end of the day. Don't show up 5-10min before! That's just rude lol Cheers!!

He initially brought out a rectangular filter that clearly didn't fit, followed by a second option that was approximately the correct size but significantly thinner and flimsier than the filter he removed. He proceeded to install the two flimsy filters, discarding my old ones, and charged me $25 apiece ($34.99 each less a $10 coupon for each). About two hours later, while driving home, my car suddenly went into limp mode (maxing out at 12 mph) and the check engine light came on. This was incredibly distressing. I managed to limp the car to a gas station and immediately suspected the ill-fitting air filters were to blame. Because the flimsy filters did not seat properly in the cradle, particulate matter bypassed the filter and coated my Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensors, triggering limp mode. I was able to limp the car home and confirmed the issue with an OBD2 scanner. Fortunately, I am fairly handy. I went to AutoZone and purchased the correct filters that firmly press into the housing and create a tight seal, along with MAF sensor cleaner. After cleaning both sensors and installing the proper filters, the check engine light and codes cleared. Had I not been able to diagnose and fix this myself, I would have had the car towed to a service center and Take 5 would be looking at a reimbursement request for hundreds of dollars in towing and diagnostic fees. On Saturday, I returned to the Take 5 location with the improper filters placed in the STP filter boxes. I showed the technician and the duty manager the difference in fit, explaining how a loose filter allows particulates to bypass the system. I reinstalled the improper sized filter and showed the tech how it loosely fit in the air box and then showed how the proper filter fit snug in the box, held in place by the angled cradle pressing against the angled sides of the filter. The tech initially stated that the filters he installed were the ones called for by the computer; however, when he installed them I watched him try two different size filters to see which fit better. Clearly, if he had the right filter he would not have had to do so and would not have clearly looked different from the filters that were removed. The manager spoke with the tech, checked the part numbers of the filters I had purchased, and in all spent half an hour going back and forth between the computer and the phone. Finally, she stated that because the transaction occurred the day prior, the district manager would have to reverse the charges. I was told to expect a text from the district manager once the credit was issued. She stated this would be done on Saturday (4/18/2026). Today (Tuesday), I have received no text and no credit to my account. On Monday (4/20/2026) I sent an email with the above details to Take 5's customer service email. I have not received a reply or even an acknowledgement of receipt. I am extremely frustrated by the runaround and the lack of communication. I cannot trust Take 5 after this experience. I would have respected them if they had simply admitted they didn't have the correct parts rather than shoehorning the wrong item into my vehicle just to make a sale and causing me so much distress. Instead of asking to be reimbursed for my time and the extra materials required to fix the mistake, all I was asking for was a refund for the cost of the incorrect air filters. I still haven't received a reply.
