Love this place. Sad that the bakery is still under construction. I wanted to have some tea drinks…read more People here are still sweet and trying to cope with the recent tragedies. I'm sure it has been a challenge. They are doing a great job on keeping the store stocked and well-organized. Great variety of products. You may have to get out your translator on some of the packaging. Nice feeling of comfort. Visit the upstairs to get more of the Asian experience of food and culture. I'm planning on returning again when I visit Westwood.

I was in awe of its immaculate organization and the sashimi/sushi section where workers assembled sashimi on spot. Just as I pondered if I were in food heaven, revelation hit and brought me back to banality. At the juice section, my spidey sense told me we were stalked by an Asian mid-aged female employee (or supervisor) with impeccable make-up on her rigid face. She followed us around and made me feel uncomfortable. I figured out later due to its imprudent store layout which had Fresh Produce section right next to exit and on the opposite side of check out, they suspect every customer of shoplifting. Imagine discomfort and anxiousness merely being there. There were a few securities there construing the above-said shenanigans. Exactly who likes to be followed or policed while shopping? No wonder my kiddo avoided this place since the fatal car accident inside the store in February. Eerie Feng Shui and ominous energy.

Probably the owner is rude himself to allow unprofessional people encounters shoppers. Very disrespectful culture , from the minute to talk to you to last they put your change back 2 feet away from you instead handing it to your hand with smile. All bad , they will ruin your day

I brought it back the next day expecting at least an apology or a simple exchange. But the owner was shockingly rude and dismissive. While I ended up getting the refund, he kept saying they should not allow that without a receipt as if he was doing me a "favor" by allowing the return. The real issue was not treating customers with basic respect as instead of taking responsibility, he raised his voice at me from across the store, saying things like it's against rules to give refund without a receipt and when I said it's also against rules to sell rotten food to people, he yelled that the bread was probably fine a few days ago (while it had mold when sitting on the shelf). To make matters worse, I've also noticed this same owner being rude to his own cashier staff, which only confirms that this kind of behavior is not a one-off.

I went with a couple of friends for dinner- we were around the area and thought it was an opportune time to show them a place they weren't familiar with! I've been here since I was a kid, and though some things changed, alot hasn't! This was during a world cup game, so it was very lively at pub areas as they were broadcasting live. Everyone was so invested, from the patrons, chefs, servers, and even line cooks! Went to a stall selling the 'best corned beef sandwich' from Magee's kitchen. The servers and cook were super nice and the corned beef on display made my mouth water! It was very good, and paired with their blood orange soda, wasn't too heavy! It was a big enough sandwich that I took the other half home! I also got a cornbread muffin from Gumbo pot- which was good but a little dry. There's plenty of shade, though the area is mostly outdoors- lots of trees and buildings with covers and awnings. There's a fancy French market in there and plenty of eating options (though open hours vary). Come by this historic stop, walk through the Grove, and enjoy the hustle and bustle!

A great experience for locals and tourists alike. Location 4 stars: In the Fairfax District area of Los Angeles, to the West of the Grove. It has busy parking lot which is usually quite full. Although some restaurants will validate part of the parking fees, be prepared to pay somewhere between $10 and $56 depending on how long you stay and which stores you visit. Make sure you check the parking rates sign by the entrance and plan accordingly. You can also park in the Grove's multi-story parking structure, but they will not accept validation from Farmer's Market businesses. The Grove also has Valet parking on premises. Venue 4 stars: Nice rustic but well-kept open air set up that has been around for almost 100 years! It is focused on local and international food. As you stroll through the market you will encounter gourmet food stores (such as Monsieur Marcel Gourmet Store), meat counters (such as Huntington Meats), takeout restaurants (such as Stara Polish Pierogi and Sausage, Banana Leaf Singaporean restaurant and Oh My Dumpling Chinese food), and fine dining restaurants (such as ETTORE OSTERIA Italian and Monsieur Marcel French Bistro). Once you are on premises you can use the Grove trolly to visit the (attached) Grove complex.
