Amazing tailor! She is so kind and works quickly. Hemmed and took in my prom dress in one day for $35. She did exactly what I wanted and such great quality/timing/price. I came to this shop based on the other Yelp reviews, and boy-- I was not disappointed! The language barrier wasn't an issue; we were able to communicate just fine through gestures. I dropped off 10 tops to be altered, and when I picked them up today (on time) and tried them on, each and every one fit like a dream! This review is based solely on communication and organization. I initially found this shop on yelp and was looking forward to coming here. The first time I came, I have no complaints about it. I needed a couple of garments cut shorter by the next month. The seamstress had said she was too busy and would not be able to finish by my timeline. No problem. I went elsewhere. No negative feelings toward that. Now I came a second time this past February to have another dress cut shorter for a wedding that will happen in May.. and her shop was closed even though I came during her business hours. There was a written sign that stated, from my understanding, she cannot accept new alteration garments "this week," only pick up. So I left. Then a couple wks later I decided to call before actually going there again and tell her what I needed. She originally had told me she was too busy and could not take the piece. But since I didn't need it until May, she said I can bring my dress in by March 27 or 28. I asked if I can drop it off March 29 and she said yes anytime after the 28th. So I come March 29 and the shop was closed again. The same written sign was still posted but with the current dates of that week. I called the shop and spoke to the seamstress explaining what we had talked about and she said she was too busy. But I reinforced that I didn't need it until May and all I needed done was just to have the dress simply cut shorter--if I can just try it on so she can measure, that's it. I mentioned that this was my second trip here and asked if we can just measure today. So she said yes ok as I understood she was coming to open the door. I wait about 10 minutes and no one comes. So I decided to say screw it, I'll just go somewhere else. Now, this lady is a very nice lady. Her English isn't the best but I was able to get by with her slowly. I am sure she does a great job with what she does, given some of the great reviews. It was evident that she was busy because I can see a long line of garments against the wall that still needed to be done. I'm just disappointed by the lack of communication, understanding, clarification, and managing current and future work. If she just could not accept any work from when I had first contacted her, tell me.. don't say to come at a later time and then not keep your word. That took away a whole month from someone else doing the job I needed. That is my only gripe. read more

I was looking for a tailor place I looked around for many days and finally decided to try this store. The owner is a grandma and she doesn't speak English or Chinese is really weird but oh boy boy her tailor skill is really really good. The first time I brought in a pair of jeans I never wore and wanted to try her skill and she did a very very good job at a very cheap price so now I'm bringing all my clothes and pants for her to tailor she is very busy so sometimes it takes a little longer to get it back but she always does a very good job if you don't like it you will do it for free again!! read more

I had a wedding dress converted to a formal dress which was a complex undertaking. She did a magnificent job at an impressive price. Her skills far exceed what she charges. Her English is limited but it did not affect the outcome of the dress, it was tailored exactly how I wanted it. I later brought in a designer sleeveless top to have the sleeve opening adjusted and I fully trusted her skills. Fits like dream now and you can't tell it was ever taken apart and resewn! My mom usually tailors my clothes but her sewing machine broke so this was my first time ever having to take it anywhere. It was a great and easy experience overall. Although there was a language barrier I did not have any issues with getting my bridesmaids dress the way I wanted it. Due to the complexity of the dress, it took her about 5-6 days to finish it. Plus she asked if I could come back the day before to make sure it fit and looked good before she did the final touches, which I didn't mind. I found E&T thru Yelp and am so glad I did! Annie is very helpful and friendly. Even though she speaks very little English, she manages to make herself understood perfectly. Her little daughter studies here and is often around to help translate as well. Annie did great a reducing the length on my jeans and I came back with another pair to get both the height and fit altered. She did great at that too. The prices are very very reasonable, and it gave me back the use of clothes I haven't used a long time. She will be my go-to person for alterations and stitching of any kind hereafter. I came in about a week and a half before I need to leave for my interview to get my blazer and pants altered, she did it as quickly as possible (even though she's extremely busy) and the results were beautiful, I couldn't ask for a better tailor. Pleasant experience. First time getting my clothing altered and I found that she did great work. Very sweet lady, hard working vibe. Please be patient with her if you don't speak mandarin, I don't speak a word of it and I still managed to communicate. Speak slowly, with gestures, and use a translator on your phone. Thank GOD I found E&T Tailors. They happened to be open on Memorial Day and I went in based on a single yelp review (everyone else was closed and the seamstress who was supposed to have two dresses finished for me, hadn't even gotten started! She was SO unprofessional.. but that's another story). Anyway, back to E&T: I decided to take a chance on them, and I'm extremely grateful I did! The work was impeccable, the prices were super reasonable, and the lady who does the sewing is the sweetest lady ever! Communication can be a bit bumpy because of a language barrier (I believe she speaks Chinese?), but somehow we were able to understand one another! I came in the next day and the dresses were EXACTLY how I had envisioned them! What I had requested was slightly complex, but she's a master and an artist. Honestly, I left so impressed. It's hard to find a good tailor who is not only reliable, but also talented, as well as fair in their prices. E&T surpassed all my expectations and more.
