Without question a superb setting, locally sourced foodie experience of the highest calling. Let the bells ring. Oh if Craig lebain only knew.... I had the velvety zucchini soufflé with cheese fondue, which was neither a soufflé nor a cheese fondue but our universe well beyond my expectations. I could not see the universe because my eyes were closed when my senses were beautifully assuaged into luxurious healthy simple food prepared by the best of chefs in the world. My wife had the octopus with warm potato salad that was absolutely scrumptious. Wines by the glass were satisfying and beautiful in the setting on the isle of Capri. I would go back here in a heartbeat two or three times in a row. It was certainly one of the best lunches I've ever had in my life. I hope you have this experience too, I mean it. Then take a walk down to Augustus' garden overlooking the blue waters of Capri, and a geological spectacle in the ocean with a tunnel through rock that the boat ride through about three-quarter mile away. What a way to live.

Cute little restaurant in Capri. Loved the merge between house and restaurant (bed and sofas to the side of eating tables). Expensive (as most things in Capri), but nice place to dine.

Enjoyed dinner here last night. The seating outside in the garden is quite nice, surrounded by trees with a romantic ambience. Started with fried cod to share. My wife had stuffed ricotta and I had fried tuna for main dishes. Both were quite good. We didn't have dessert as they do not have coffee or tea which was a bit disappointing. Would give 3.5 stars if possible. Service was mediocre.

This place was by far the best food we had during our two week stint in Italy. The flavours and preparation were outstanding. Highly recommend this place especially when compared to the prices of the surrounding area redtaurants.

We come back for 3 nights in a row. This restaurant is that good! Spaghetti Vongole, Fried Alici, and Salmon Bruschetta is a must try! The staff are friendly! Inspiring interior!

So fun! The duck breast, octopus, and asparagus were all great. Our favorite was the sea bass which was served rolled up in a pancake style with a green emulsion of turnip greens and hazelnuts. The dessert was a white chocolate shell shaped like a skull filled with hazelnut mousse and spritzed with bergamot mist. It was so unique and delicious, and came with a story written on a rolled up scroll describing how it represented the famous skulls of abandoned skulls. Not sure I totally understood it but nevertheless it was fun. The atmosphere is classy and upscale, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was spot on. Da Tonino was the culinary highlight of our trip!

A Hidden Culinary Gem Tucked into the Hills of Capri…read more If you're the kind of traveler who prefers culinary poetry to postcard clichés, Ristorante Da Tonino should be the first pin on your Capri map. This isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience that balances elegance with warmth, and artistry with authenticity. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like old friends rather than tourists. Chef Tonino himself, his gracious wife, and their attentive staff exude the kind of genuine hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home--even as you're seated in a Michelin-worthy dreamscape of a dining room. And the food? Exquisite. Each dish was a masterclass in presentation and flavor--thoughtfully composed, immaculately plated, and undeniably delicious. It's clear the chef cooks with both heart and precision. Every bite had us pausing mid-conversation just to fully savor the moment. You'll be talking about the house specialties long after your ferry leaves the island. This is not just a place to eat--it's a place to remember. If you appreciate fine food, thoughtful details, and dining experiences that linger in your memory like a favorite song, Da Tonino is non-negotiable. Bravo!

Stomach growling as I was walking down Viale Pasitea (the main thoroughfare in town), multiple good options caught my eye. After some Gmaps searching (sorry Yelp, again limited and some outdated data in Europe!) their beautiful IG-able interior + stellar reviews cinched the decision for me. It's both a restaurant and retail store--the latter carries local ceramics, kitchenware and home decor, many with botanical designs--capturing that quintessential coastal vibe--colors back to white. The former takes up the remaining three-quarters of the white-washed space with about two dozen tables seating about 40-50 people. Live vines hang from parts of the ceiling, pendant lighting fixtures printed with leaf patterns echo the botanical theme from the retail displays. The aesthetic rounds out with tiled floors, light wood furniture, and pillowed banquette seating mixed with individual tables, tying in designs from the home goods store. Food is new Italian--they do carry some traditional dishes though they also have a modern Mediterranean section of the menu that adds non-traditional ingredients or techniques. They also serve a variety of cocktails, fresh-squeezed or blended juices and smoothies, and coffee drinks. Lunch with an entree and drink will run you about €35-40, which is on the higher side though par for the course compared to other similar restaurants along the Amalfi Coast. I ordered the traditional fagioli cannellini, scarola, capperi, olive e calamari gratinati €26 (cannellini beans, escarole, capers, olives and gratinated calamari). This was creamy and tasty even though it had no cheese or cream, the calamari was cooked well, just tender enough, and coated with light breadcrumbs, which I appreciated as it was baked and not deep-fried. Having minimal familiarity with dish, I can only say I thought it was outstanding, good textural contrast, not too salty. Staff was the right amount of attentive without being overbearing, and though their English was limited, they strove to answer my questions on ingredients in a few of the dishes. The restaurant was pretty busy during lunch, but I never felt rushed. Loved the atmosphere and food here, would certainly recommend!

It was one of the highlights of our 2-week trip to Europe. It is definitely a splurge, but knowing that going in, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We took the little boat on a scenic ride over from Marina Piccolo, picked out a great location for our beach chairs and umbrella, then had a lovely lunch at the restaurant at the top, overlooking the ocean. Service was quick and attentive. We had the fried zucchini flowers stuffed w/ goat cheese - pretty good, but honestly, pricey ($25) and not as good as the ones we get back in San Diego at Cucina Urbana. We then shared a fried assortment of shrimp and calamari, which was tasty (although not quite as good as the ones we had at Da Fernando beach club in Positano). My daughter enjoyed her fresh catch of the day - sea bream (sold by weight, $45). And we had a bottle of white local Amalfi wine that we really enjoy and is only $32/bottle, Falaghina. All in all, it was about $450 for the 3 of us for lunch, drinks, beach chairs, umbrella and boat transport ($10/person each way). But best of all was lounging on the rocks in the little cove, overlooking the beautiful towering Faraglioni rock formations, and swimming in the crystal blue waters. It's super salty, so it was effortless to just float and relax. There were about a dozen well-dressed Italian guys celebrating a bachelor party, singing and dancing, and doing shots, which added to the fun, Italian ambiance. A really memorable, beautiful, relaxing day.

The Caprese salad was rubbery with awful tomatoes on a bed of wilted, lettuce, and dried oregano. Nothing fresh about it. Our linguine with tomato olives and capers had zero flavor. The bread basket left a lot to be desired, I'm not even sure the seagulls would've eaten it. Word to the wise, when you come for the beach club use your €60 credit per person on booze! The service was not attentive. Just an overall bad experience. Do not come for the food!
