Stay away from this company. They setup an appointment for Saturday. I'm an out of the area landlord so Edward was instructed to go to the house, cut the lawn and sent me pics for payment. It's now Tuesday and I realized that I never got pics or request for payment. I wrote Edward and waited several hours and no reply. I told him I would put a bad review and he replied within 10 minutes with this lame excuse " it was getting late Saturday and I could not make it". First of all. If that was the case, the professional thing to do would be to message me on Saturday, letting me know that he wasn't going to be able to make it and offering an alternate time. Pathetic. Unprofessional. Disrespectful. He did not deserve the one star I had to give him. I hope many people read this review and stay away from this company. read more

This review is mainly for communication around scheduling and what their regular service entails, not about Edward himself (he was willing to come back and redo some things without argument). I first contacted E. Wilson's through Yelp for an estimate and was given a quote for an extremely (and unrealistically) low price for the size of the yard. I asked if they wanted to come in person before the day of service to make sure the estimate was accurate, and they said no, it wasn't necessary. Lo and behold, the day of service arrives, two people show up, leave immediately, then 15 minutes later I get a phone call saying the price is actually going to be 4x what we were quoted. This was an annoyance, but mainly my problem with the new rate was that I couldn't get a clear answer as to why the new rate was so high when I had already told them what the size of the yard was -- they kept saying it was because we have multiple structures on the property, but this doesn't actually change the size of the property, the lot is the size I told them when I asked for an estimate. I had even offered to show them before scheduling to make sure the quote was fair! I'm not one to underpay for a service so we ended up rescheduling with an agreement for the new rate, but the whole thing was very inconvenient especially considering that I had invited them to adjust the rate before committing, which would have saved a ton of time and confusion. Then when we actually had service, they left the property in terrible shape. I paid $65 to weed by hand, but apparently, that only means yanking out the big weeds, which took them about 15 minutes. I expected them to actually put $65 worth of effort into weeding, which is why we agreed to the increased quote. I also had a lot of dead leaves on the property (which they had seen before, and which I had asked them to clean up), and at no point did they mention that actually taking care of them would be an extra service. They just ran the mower over them, which didn't even get all the leaves. I paid for leaf blowing, but they literally blew a bunch of the leaves into the hardscaped gravel areas and then told us that cleaning up the hardscape would be an extra charge. They didn't even blow the rest of the leaves into piles for us to bag, they just relocated them a few feet across the yard with the blower and said there were too many to clean up. Okay, that's fair, but why wasn't any of this communicated before we agreed to service and before they started working? Again, I'm not about to underpay if I'm asking for something outrageous, but they should have told us that they wouldn't be able to deliver what we wanted for the (new, higher) quote since I told them clearly what our expectations were before they started working. The kicker? They left after only 1 hour and 15 minutes of service. We have security cameras and I was on the property the whole time, this is not an exaggeration. I thought they may have gone on a lunch break since they left the yard completely unfinished, but when I got an invoice in my email I called them back immediately. Sorry, but I'm not going to pay $200/hour for lawn maintenance even if my lawn is in the best shape I've ever seen when you've left. As you can see from the post-service picture attached, it didn't even come close. And this was after they came back to fix it. Edit: The comment from the owner regarding the size of the property is completely false. It is a 7000 square foot lawn, residential property, corner lot, with one single address. They did not come see the property when I invited them to provide an estimate, so they had no way of knowing there were multiple structures which again, should not affect the price of the service per square foot. This reason for the increase in price does not make sense. Ultimately I paid $260 for mowing, blowing, and edging, including $65 for hand weeding. Regarding the leaf cleanup, it is true that the when I received the first, low, estimate I also got a quote for leaf cleanup. I responded that I wasn't sure if we needed to add the service and they could let me know when they arrived if they thought that adding leaf cleanup was necessary. They did not say they thought it was necessary the first or the second time they came, so my assumption was that we didn't need to pay for yet another service -- especially since the new lawn maintenance quote was 4x higher than the original. Again, they had my phone number, an active Yelp message thread, and I was sitting clearly in front of a window the entire time they were here so they had many opportunities to talk to me before leaving. Also, I did ask them what it would take to clean up the leaves before they left the second day of service, and they told me they were too busy. read more

I was looking for someone who could come on a routine schedule for a specific day so I can lock my dogs up. Showed up for the first visit (& even though I found areas that weren't mowed like the smaller island in front & a area in my backyard) I figured I would have to take it due to the world we are currently in). Yesterday was supposed to be my 2nd visit, I took off the afternoon so I could be home & after no call or no show I emailed him & then called him. He told me they were too busy but would come the next morning (I can't take off to be there again). I told him to not worry about it & that I would not be using him again (mind you I even gave him a $20 tip on the first visit). Thank God I was able to find a real company, they came out & did the work, and did a MUCH better job. I guess you win some & lose some but I definitely wouldn't recommend this company. read more
