This is the first Yelp Review I've ever written. Within the first few months of moving into our new house in LA, and after nearly every vendor let us down, stressed us out, and took our money, Frank and his team saved the day and saved our sanity. Frank exemplifies the saying, "A way a man does anything is the way he does everything." He's physically fit, poised, proficient, articulate, and I can tell, a true Leader for his crews - someone who works extremely hard to train his guys and support them. His leadership is obvious, as he was often at our house each morning going over the plan of the day with his crew - Jesus and Alberto. Moreover, the morale of Jesus and Alberto was always high. They showed up on time, worked extremely hard, were courteous to my wife (and cat), always cleaned up, and the final product of their brick work and carpentry is magnificent -- everyone who sees it says so before I even bring it up! I discovered Frank graduated an Ivy League school and learned all he could about construction -- working hard in the dirt during his summer and winter breaks, and then right after graduation. Frank's unique background, I think, contributes to his different (i.e. better) approach which he combines his intelligence, technology, and professionalism into a packaged deal that delivers top notch and on time results. He tracks every crew's daily progress with his construction app on his IPAD which includes daily photos, progress reports, and any hang ups he can immediately resolve. Frank's cost quotes are also rock solid. When the brick material we ordered was different than expected, requiring more material and labor than expected to craft and install, Frank did not go back on his original quote and try to increase his quote. Instead, his crew worked extremely hard day in and day out - 10 hours per day -- and I know Frank didn't make much, if any, money off the project. That's because Frank's goal is to keep his clients for decades. I still have a ton of additional projects for my house and every last one of them will go to E2 Remodel and I hope Jesus and Alberto will be on the next project as they were every bit as professional as their boss.

The vinyl patio cover they put it! Love it!

From the start, the estimator offered expert suggestions and thoughtful ideas to help us achieve our goals while staying within budget. Pricing was competitive, and financing options were available. The entire process was organized and professional. Scheduling was proactive, communication was clear, and the timeline and cost estimate were accurate. The crew consistently arrived on time and worked hard every day. Our project manager was responsive, helpful, and easy to work with throughout the project. The on-site team was professional, respectful, and clearly took pride in their work. The finished paver installation looks fantastic and completely changed the feel and functionality of our backyard. We are very happy with the result and would absolutely recommend Rock N Block to anyone looking for quality hardscape work.

I normally don't leave long reviews, but my experience with Rock N Block was so frustrating and…read morecostly that I hope it saves someone else from going through the same thing. Andrew H. came to my property on August 13, 2025, to give me a quote for installing pavers throughout my backyard. I explained very clearly that my number one requirement was correcting the slope so that rainwater would no longer flow toward my home. This was confirmed as a priority after multiple inspections from roof gutter companies and landscapers. I was scheduled to be out of town for five weeks, and I initially planned to wait until I got back. But Andrew assured me multiple times that they regularly work while homeowners are away, that everything would be monitored, and that I would return to a finished project done correctly in less than a week. Based on that reassurance, I agreed to let the project begin while I was gone. That decision turned into a nightmare. Project Problems From Day 1: Before work even began, I asked them to cover certain areas to prevent damage during concrete removal. 9/9/25: - Their vendor dropped pallets of pavers directly in front of my garage, completely blocking access. - The crew then said their wheelbarrows couldn't fit through the side gate because of how the AC unit was positioned. Andrew attempted to charge me $1,000 to move the AC the next day or $500 to do it on Saturday. - Andrew then insisted they could access the yard through my garage instead. I told him that was impossible due to the size of the wheelbarrows and the narrow door. He argued it would work and scheduled the job for September 13. Because of all this, I had to end my trip early, driving back from Northern California with my dogs on short notice. 9/12/25: When I checked my cameras, I saw the workers using the same wheelbarrows they said wouldn't fit and they did use the side gate anyway. When I got home, I saw: - My side gate pulled apart - My AC unit pushed up against the wall and held by a large rock None of this was discussed or approved. Andrew, who had been very present during the quote process, was nowhere to be found during the actual work. I ended up dealing with Jose (his manager?) instead. Even the lead worker, Eric, confirmed that the wheelbarrows never would have fit through the garage exactly what I had said from the beginning. And to make things worse, because their pallets blocked my garage, I couldn't have moved my car for 2 weeks. 9/17-18/25: - Rain water flows inside the garage because pavers were installed higher than door step. Their resolution was to put a a small circular drain in front of the door. 9/25/25: They "finished" the job, but the list of issues was long: - The side gate wouldn't open because they installed the pavers too high (they trimmed down the gate to resolve). - Polymeric sand was not installed correctly: it was patchy, missing in several areas. - My sliding door track was damaged from concrete debris and sand, even though I repeatedly asked them to cover it. - Worst of all: the paver grade was installed HIGHER than the threshold of my garage side door, exactly what I told them NOT to do. This means water gets trapped and pushed inside my garage; this was the entire problem I hired them to fix. The small drain did not do anything. It rained again from 11/15 - 11/21/25, and the water issues persist to this day. The most important part of the project and the reason I did it at all was not resolved. Andrew keeps mentioning that I need to have rain gutters installed, but I had them before and I know that it was not the issue. I had multiple vendors come out again for sanity check to tell me that gutters won't solve the drainage issue. From the misleading reassurances, to the damage to my property, to the poor workmanship, to the complete lack of accountability, this has been one of the worst contractor experiences I've ever had. I cannot recommend Rock N Block. I trusted them with an important project, and instead I'm left with new problems, unresolved issues, and property damage.

The yard looks amazing and has significantly enhanced the curb appeal of my home. It's truly a pleasure to pull up every day and appreciate the beautiful work that was done. I want to give a special thanks to Mike for his patience and professionalism throughout the entire process. He was incredibly understanding with both myself and the challenges presented by our HOA, which made things quite difficult at times. Matt also played a key role by keeping me well informed and providing valuable guidance on how everything would come together. Thanks to their excellent communication and expertise, the final project turned out even better than I had imagined. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality turf work. After payment, the owner…read morefiled a mechanic's lien against our property that was later found to be fraudulent -- overbilled for unsigned change orders and overtime for labor that was never paid to workers. The lien encumbered our property for three years. The work itself was a complete failure. The retaining wall collapsed. The owner never returned to repair defects or clean up after being paid in full. We had to hire private labor and purchase materials ourselves to address the damage. After an 16-18 month investigation, the California State License Board (CSLB) found 17 violations against this contractor's license, including 11 misdemeanor charges. He was fined $6,000. The investment property was listed for sale and could not sell due to the construction defects and the lien on title. We ultimately lost the property. All of this is documented public record. We had some specialty items, septic lid covers, that hold pavers which made the install more challenging. I was a bit worried about this party of the install but they did a good job. They didn't rush through the work, but they did finish the job quickly. Artemio and the other worker (I didn't get his name) knew their stuff and made it look easy (But I know it's a lot of work!). They worked quickly and worked hard but also very professionally and didn't take short cuts. They took the time to make the lids look right and function properly. It's important so I don't have to rip out pavers to find the lids next time. Heck they even made the underside of the lids look clean. Eco also didn't try to upsell on more than I wanted to do and offered a reasonable price right up front. Over all, it was a good value for what I got and I hope to use them again in the future to do some more pavers! They earned this 5 Star rating.
