He came quickly for our first estimate for landscaping, and the value was great. His pricing was fair. Him and his crew worked quickly to get the landscaping work done in our backyard - clearing weeds, removing a large guava tree and smaller fruit tree, trimming trees, and cutting ice plants. I was so happy with their work I asked if they could clean our palm trees. The price again was great and they did it in a few hours. After that, I worked with him to get concrete laid in our backyard. The price for concrete was very reasonable. Him and his crew worked efficiently but with quality to get the concrete in our backyard. The whole concrete process took 3 days and I couldn't be happier with the final product. AMAZING!!! If you are looking for a Landscaping company that is knowledgeable, hard-working, honest and fair, and takes pride in a job well done, JG Lawns is exactly what you're looking for! I haven't written a review in a long time, but I am so happy to toot the horn for this Father and Son business and wholeheartedly recommend them! We hired them to bring life into our backyard and they blew our expectations out of the water, the transformation was incredible! We literally went from having a chunky dirt backyard in the morning, to having a green, luscious and beautiful lawn at the end of the day. Their whole crew is amazing! They got our entire job done in ONE DAY, I couldn't believe it!!! And I mean everything...Grading, soil amendments, rototilling, re-grading, laying the sod and clean up! They also removed our old, broken sprinklers and set us up with a brand new irrigation system with an automatic timer. Eric taught us how everything works and ran one last sprinkler test to ensure that everything was good to go before they left for the day... and then followed up all the way until our first mow. AMAZING! They are more than fair with their pricing as well. Our area is just over 1,000sq and we were hoping to keep our budget around $4,000 for everything. Not only did they come in under budget, but there was an additional discount for paying cash! There was no nickel-and-diming along the way, just straight forward and honest from the beginning, as it should be. There are years of knowledge and experience between Eric and his Dad and that is reflected in their workmanship. A year ago, we moved into our home, and from day one, my biggest goal was to completely transform our backyard by replacing the grass with turf. We met with four different companies and received quotes from each, but we either weren't confident in their work or just didn't feel they were the right fit until we met with JG Lawns. Craig came out to provide a free estimate and was brutally honest LOL. He never tried to oversell us or promise things that weren't realistic. His personality and knowledge earned our trust and combined with fair pricing, made our final decision to move forward with this company. Our project was originally expected to take about a week, but due to issues with choosing pavements and the paving company shipping the wrong materials, it ended up taking about a month. Even with the unexpected delay, Eric and Jesus (his dad) were fantastic throughout the entire process. They kept us updated every step of the way, explained any changes, and always made sure we were comfortable with the plan before moving forward. Their crew worked incredibly hard every single day. They treated our home with respect, paid attention to every detail, and always cleaned up before leaving for the day. Their pride in their work definitely shows in the finished product. I actually didn't get any work done with JG lawns, so I can't attest to their quality of work. I am writing this review because I saw Michael's review about the salesman. It sounds like he did not like Craig's sales tactic. I was one of the people who regretted not signing up with JG lawns. He might have shown Michael S. our text thread where I vented to him about the other company which did a bad job. I don't like conflict, as most people, but Craig kept encouraging me to keep up my efforts to get the other company to rectify the situation. I was grateful that he took the time to loop back with me and encourage me even though I didn't hire his company. What I learned from this experience is that the most important part of this project is the installation of the turf. The fact that the owners of the company do the installation is key! They can ensure that the product is installed properly the first time. The issue with our project was that you could see the seams where they had put the pieces together. Once the turf is improperly installed, it may not be easily fixed with more brushing or dumping more sand on top. We had to really push the other company to take off the turf completely and replace about half of turf they laid down. I could have potentially saved myself weeks of time on the phone, multiple visits to the house, high blood pressure and stress if I had gone with JG Lawns. Good luck out there. It is not for the faint of heart. read more

Stop! Are you looking for an experienced, reliable, knowledgeable, landscape artist who pays attention to every detail? Whose crews are hard working, respectful and always willing to answer any questions? Look no further - you have found the best of the best in Eric and his group. They removed old, rotten mulch from our front, back and side yard gardens and replaced it after leveling and raking everything. They also added soil and topsoil to our front and back yards prior to installing sod. Additional soil and topsoil was added to the backyard garden to bring it level with a newly installed small wall. A sprinkler system was installed throughout all sod and garden areas as well. The cost of the entire project was very reasonable. Stop! No need to continue looking! This is the company for you! We had an emergency leak in an irrigation system with water spraying everywhere. After reviewing the Yelp reviews, I decided to call 3 different companies. Eric was the only one that returned my message. I was able to send him a picture of the problem and he set up an appointment for that day. After his crew assessed the issue he gave me three different options for fixing it. After we talked about my choices we settled on one and instead of coming the next day to finish it (it was already after 5:00 pm) he made sure it was finished that evening so we wouldn't waste anymore water. Rich said he would send a team member back to repair the fence post they broke, but no one ever came back to do it. I would probably up rate the experience, submit more attractive photos, and recommend this company if someone actually does come back and make it right. Looks like perhaps only a little welding would be needed to fix it. That would also up rate the assessment of value for the price I paid.
