I hate having my time wasted, and jobs delayed. Evo Turf did both to me. They are terminated....for life. I would not let them turf the inside of my mailbox. Here is how it went down: 06-29-2026 09:58 AM Mike from Evo Turf came out to my house. He said he would send an estimate by the end of the day. 07-01-2026 06:57 AM I emailed and texted them, "Hello Mike. You stopped at my house a few days ago. I haven't seen an estimate come through yet. Did you email one? " 07-06-2026 08:52 AM I called the office and left a voice mail. 07-06-2026 9:16 AM I got a text: "Hey there! It's Mike from Evo Turf&Pavers. Sorry I missed your call. I'll get back to you ASAP!" 07-08-2026 10:08 AM I got a text: "Hi good morning. Sorry I'll be back in town tomorrow." 08-10-2026 08:18 PM A month later and I have heard nothing. I don't usually chase people to give them my money. So now I will start over, with someone new. I don't know if my job was too small for them, or they are too busy, or they are just incompetent and lack systems and follow up. None of it is an excuse for how I was treated, and the time that was wasted. Evo Turf needs to rename itself to "Never Turf". That would be much more accurate. Hey, "Ev-OH NO! Turf", save the apology, and the request for a phone call to explain things and make it right. You are fired. Get a CRM with a follow up system, make sure the manager is on top of the salespeople. If you can't use a basic CRM, fire everyone and start over. As a matter of fact, the owners should fire themselves. You should not be operating a business. A lemonade stand maybe, a proper business, no. If you want to write me a check for the time I wasted, at my hourly rate, I estimate $1,000 will cover it. You have my address. read more

My wife and I hired this contractor and paid the full contract amount. After payment, the owner filed a mechanic's lien against our property that was later found to be fraudulent -- overbilled for unsigned change orders and overtime for labor that was never paid to workers. The lien encumbered our property for three years. The work itself was a complete failure. The retaining wall collapsed. The owner never returned to repair defects or clean up after being paid in full. We had to hire private labor and purchase materials ourselves to address the damage. After an 16-18 month investigation, the California State License Board (CSLB) found 17 violations against this contractor's license, including 11 misdemeanor charges. He was fined $6,000. The investment property was listed for sale and could not sell due to the construction defects and the lien on title. We ultimately lost the property. All of this is documented public record. Update......got a call from the manager right after my review posted. I really appreciated the attentiveness to this matter and he will be coming next week to work something out. We had turf put in by them in May of 2019. I had a member of their team come out to check on the "wear" of the turf. We talked about options....replacement or adding more sand/grooming and also the fact that my original invoice says "Lifetime warranty". The project manager who came out was Joseph, and he said we would take the "warranty" issue up with the manager because there was not any written limitations on "lifetime warranty". And he said he would get back with quotes on the other above mentioned items. I have text him, called him (no answer, phone would go dead) and called the office to say he has not gotten back with me. It is now 2 weeks with no follow-up. I would be leery of anyone using them if this is how their customer service is. Very disappointing. read more

Holy Moly! Where to start! The Mike and Chris came out last week to give me a quote on our dog run. I needed the job done asap. I got the quote, they fit me in and Voila! It's done. Mike Alba, the sales rep, was the deciding factor in choosing Evo Turf to install synthetic grass for our DogRun. They were NOT the least expensive of the four proposal/estimates we obtained; Mike's clearly defined proposal (see pic of diagram), professionalism in our home, clear communication and understanding our exact motivation and needs made selecting Evo Turf an easy choice. The entire team, from booking Mike's estimate to final walkthrough, were exceptional on every aspect of professionalism and communication. Kudos to Lalo and his installation team. They even were able to devise a solution to an unforseen drainage issue. We had a large drainage hole in cinder block wall that the road base under the turf could wash away with rain over time. He MacGyvered a solution from a hard piece of plastic her punctured drainage holes in, then covered it in weed block (see pics) to block the road base from possibly eroding. They clearly communicated from scheduler through completion all material drops, our responsibilities and work too be done. Joseph Brown is the best! He was responsive, responsible and willing to go out of his way to make us happy. In the process of installing our grass he was courteous, professional and pleasant. Rabbits had decimated our lawn. He went out of his way to help me plan fencing to prevent rabbits from ruining our lawn again. He also warned me about gophers and installed gopher wire. A Project Manager, Fran Dallahan, contacted us soon after we requested an estimate to install turf. The estimate process was thorough and made us feel confident with the Evo company. We already had received another estimate from a competitor that was quite competitive. Fran was able to get a comparable price and was able to offer a warranty that the competitor did not offer. We agreed to use Evo and install was scheduled for a week later. Installation process was fully explained. The install crew was fast and excellent with their work. First day was old lawn demo, and drainage and irrigation modifications. Road base was spread and compacted. Second day weed barrier was put down, then turf was rolled out, trimmed, stretched and secured. Attention to detail was quite apparent with this crew led by Laylo. He had a wealth of experience with turf and pavers installs, and made a few great recommendations that we incorporated into our design. The few turf seams are undetectable. Sand was then spread and turf was mechanically brushed to give it the "just mowed" look that it has totally retained, even after a brief rain. Our Desert Rye turf looks natural and adds a tremendous curb appeal to our home. Not only did they beat the other prices, but their products were superior and I got to pick the specific pavers and wall material I wanted installed. The communication with my estimator/project manager was as good as the first time and the crew were skilled, friendly and efficient. They got done in about half the time I expected. During the sales process, I was told that turf was going to be great with my two dogs because of their special installation process and easier than lawn. I was told it would be leas maintenance, less water, and environmentally friendly. All that was a huge selling point as I was 6 months pregnant with my first baby. Fast forward a few months and there's a disgusting odor we cannot get rid of. We've tried so many different deodorizers. We bought a power washer. We have a new baby & can't be out there washing the turf every night, but that seems to be the only solution. This is taking so much water, it is not environmentally friendly at all!! I wish we'd just gotten a lawn - the turf is such a waste of money and now we can't enjoy our backyard. We have to keep all the windows closed so we don't smell the odor. It has ruined our backyard. When I called and spoke to Kevin, all he said was to use a specific brand of deodorizer. He claimed they never get complaints like this and that it was odd. Which makes me think something is wrong with my install, right? Apparently not cause he left me out high and dry and offered to invoice me for materials to be sent to my house. He didn't offer to escalate my complaint or do anything helpful until I said I was going to share my experience online. He got really defensive and unprofessional about how he's "trying to help" by sending me an email with a product recommendation. Clearly, I've been down that road and it hasn't worked. I doubt there's a miracle product to fix their crappy installation. This ruined my backyard. Don't waste your money. read more

Paid them over $30,000 for a landscape project. Went over budget, increasing by almost double since the initial estimate. Then construction delays, but that isn't the worst. Overall project looked good for about 5 months, then the quality issue started to show up. Concrete started to crack. Travertine cracked and discolored. Took over 2 years of constant chasing with emails phone calls and voicemails and texts for them to do warranty work. You read that correctly. TWO WHOLE YEARS!! Then they try to nickel and dime claiming this that and the other is not covered under warranty. Felt like I had to negotiate hard to get them to stand behind their work. They claim to do pavers as their expertise, here is the paver work (see photos). On my project, the initial sand literally crumbled away in a few months exposing gaps between pavers everywhere. They probably did not use sufficient sealant to keep the sand in place. Then they screwed up the repair by putting polymeric sand on top of joint sand that was sealed. As these are two types of sand, it leads to separation. The attach pictures show the "repair" work. They've yet to repair the fix. Attention to detail? Forget about it. This company over-promises and underdelivers. The quality is not good. If you enjoy chasing them down by nagging them to try to get warranty work, go for it. Have the dozens of emails and texts to prove. They just don't respond to you, thing that they are too busy. Well if they are too busy then they should stop taking new jobs and take care of their existing customers. I was fooled initially by the decent reviews and the slick talking sales.
