The Market, a sort of crowded neighborhood bodega, has a wide variety of products and also offers prepared meals. Our children had received a catered meal as a gift after the birth of the child and thought Passover would be a good time to give them a try for our Seder. As many of us were visiting from out of town l, our children ordered all of the food for our family's Passover Seder from Each Peach Market this year instead of cooking The menu included: Sliced brisket, Matzo ball soup, Mini potato & leek kugels, Roasted baby carrots with dill, Provençal charoset, Green salad with herbs, fennel and horseradish, and 8" Flourless chocolate almond cake. The brisket, a little on the fatty side, was very flavorful as were the roasted carrots and Matzo ball soup. The kugels and charoset were both different from what I've experienced in the past as standard Pesach fare but were also tasty. I was, however, a little disappointed with the service. The meal had been ordered about a week in advance with the promise of a noon pickup availability on the day of Passover. It was, in fact, not ready for pickup until nearly 2 pm. This added unnecessary stress to an already tight schedule. read more

A darling tiny little specialty market in Mount Pleasant! This is a craft and specialty food store, so expect options to be very limited and very pricey. I've been in a few times to get snacks when visiting a friend who lives nearby, and they make it easy to piece a snack / light dinner together. They have some ready-to-go items like salads and such, plus fancy crackers, dips, nuts and dried fruits, and the like. They have a nice selection of specialty drinks as well - I especially liked the NA and adaptogen drink options. I got chicken salad, crackers, a chocolate mousse, candied ginger and a cheese stick. Ran me ~$30 - pricey but I snacked on the stuff throughout the weekend. Service is counter here - friendly and they were doing an Aplos sampling while we were in. Each Peach Market is a tiny little market/grocery store in Columbia Heights. Some friends and I wandered in after shopping at Bold Folk Books. It had beautiful produce: garlic escapes, white asparagus, graffiti eggplant from the Netherlands, rhubarb...! They also had a great wine selection, dairy options, snacks, and condiments. I bought some matzo chips, and my friend bough a fancy mayo. If we hadn't had had a whole day planned, I might have bought a bunch of things and cooked a delicious meal for dinner. It's on the pricier side, but the quality is great. If I lived nearby, I'd shop here all the time. It's really lovely. read more

Each Peach Market is the cutest little shop with great sandwiches that my bestie introduced me to in DC. On my first day we opted for sandwiches from Each Peach. I opted for my go to sandwich which is always Italian. It's called The Dude on their menu which comes with Genoa salami, hot coppa ham, mozzarella, tomato, banana peppers, arugula, and balsamic vinaigrette. There's truly not one thing not to love about this little shop. I popped in to shop on my last day and it's a mini heaven for any gourmand. From wines and cheeses to high end groceries and those little finds that you didn't know you needed, but can no longer live without. I love a cute, tiny food market with fancy treats. Located right in the thick of the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, you won't find a wide selection like at Giant. But you'll find some amazing natural wines, dark chocolates and a small, but thoughtful selection of cheese. One of my favorite items to pick up here are the Bullfrog bagels located right by the counter. They often sell out, so the trick is to get there early before everyone snatches them up. I bought two bags and my family polished them off before the weekend even ended! The shop also carries other baked goods, like pies and other savories, of course not too far from the fresh fruits and vegetables. But clearly, you see what catches my eyes! read more

Superior location. The Banh Mi sandwhich is great! Actually, everything is great! This place isn't snooty, it's just high class. Anyone complaining is used to dealing with minimum wage employees who don't care about the well-being of the venue. The owners here care, and want to ensure the best for everyone. So much is packed inside this small market in one of my favorite D.C. neighborhoods, Mount Pleasant! All produce and meat are labeled with what city or state it came from. Last summer, they became D.C.'s first "Fair Food Sponsor," the first small independent grocery to commit to a farmworker human rights program, ensuring that farmworkers' rights are being implemented. I love browsing around and discovering some new brands. They carry one of my favorite drinks, Sanzo, a sparkling water company with Asian flavors. They also have speciality chocolate, wine, and you can find pantry staples from almost all over the world. Fun Mount Pleasant day idea: Go to the Bold Fork Books cooking book store next door, and then find ingredients at Each Peach and other markets down the street to cook up a new recipe! I've tried some of their sandwiches a few times and I like the Rock Creek Pork and pork banh are my favorite. (Wow, I guess I like pork ;) You can conveniently order ahead of time. Prefacing this with we all have different levels of disposable income. A bit expensive for me but maybe not for others. A little market with grocery items that are a tad fancy. If you need something for a dinner recipe they probably have it. They have premade food & sandwiches and other little grab and go treats. LGBTQ friendly. It is tight in here so it might be challenging to navigate for those with accessibility concerns. There is a ramp with a pull door to enter. I literally stumbled upon this place, and I had to check it out just because of its name. When I waslked inside, that instinctive small market smell hit me immediately. This small market is the most unique market that I have ever been in, within the city. Ibthink the last time that I was in a place similar to this waswhen I was in the Shenandoah back countrybof Viriginia. There sat the entire family including the elderly grandmother who were all part of the family ownership. This place wasn't exactly like that, but it was close to it, right down to the old wooden floors. Most of the products that they have come from various farms, even as far as Pensylvania I was told. I wasn't completely hungry just yet but I thought that I would pick-up a sandwich for later. Since their sandwiches are all made to order, I decided on the aFoggy Bottom sandwich. Each Peach is a darling little market and deli in Mount Pleasant. Need some wine? Local brand of coffee? (Small Planes, Lost Sock, Ceremony Coffee all offered here!) Some freshly baked bread courtesy of Baked Joint (so you know it is GOOD)? They even have HALVAH which is hard to find. Each Peach carries a little bit of everything. It's hard to stop in without feeling like you just *need* to pick something up. On my most recent trip (yesterday), my friend suggested we get some deli sandwiches and go picnic. The options are plentiful and honestly all sound great! There's a Banh Mi, a beet and chimmichurri option (I was so intrigued), caprese, chicken salad, and lots more. I opted for the Newton which had turkey, arugula, tomato, Brie, and Dijon all on a toasted and pressed baguette. All sandwiches are between $7.50 - $9.50 so very affordable. This looks like a classic cute deli straight out of a movie. We picked up a freshly baked baguette, some deli meats, and a small cube of cheese for an early lunch picnic. So so flavorful everything we picked up. They even threw in a few extra slices of a meat they just got in. I never know how to explain Each Peach to anyone, because it is not a corner store, it is not a deli, it is not a health foods store. It is a quirky little market with excellent produce (often from not too far away), what appears to be a robust cheese collection, a nice selection of wine and beer, and a coterie of sauces and grains and pastas and chocolates and other stuff like that. They also have baked goods and some house-made sandwiches. I love stopping by there to get things I don't really need; it is a joy. read more

AMAZING BREAD and BAGUETTES. Literally worth going to just for those. The rosemary polenta sourdough bread and baguettes are particularly amazing (crust = wow). Apart from that, this place is like a mini-Whole Foods but one that you'll spend much, much less time at and less money, too. Not because it's cheap - it's actually quite expensive. But because it's small, you won't walk all over the store and buy things you don't need and that will expire before you think to eat or drink them. So it actually saves $ to shop at Each Peach. The produce is of fantastic quality -- organic, fresh, and as local as possible. The apples in particular are AWESOME. Better than you get at Whole Foods. Great yogurt and milk from local farms as well. The cinnamon granola made by Paisley Fig/Elle is a big hit, too. The cheeses are decent but very expensive. Things I wish they could do better: 1) offer a few more basic items - sparkling water, fresh meat and fish that isn't frozen, and more frozen pre-packaged food (their selection is super limited there); 2) lower the cheese prices to a more reasonable level. This store is special. It's small, local and well curated. It's not going to replace your need to go to the big grocer. However I could live off it for many days in a row as it has good veggies, staples and sandwiches. Great staff. The world needs more like this in urban environments. read more

Walked in here randomly after passing by it on the way to breakfast. We walked in and the were impressed with the amount and range of items that the Market had. Baked goods, beer and wine, fresh produce, gourmet items and cheese and cold cuts. The staff was friendly; we walked in and a staff member asked us if we needed anything. We were just browsing and the local produce was fresh and cheap. We looked around and a lot of the items were really affordable or comparable to larger chains, a few of the items were more expensive but the majority of the store is really affordable. I also got the banh mi to eat and I was happily surprised, even a few hours later it was still really good. I don't know if it's a place that I would come to for regular grocery runs but for produce, and smaller gourmet items it seems like a great choice. read more

Check out the deli counter, pronto. I've lived in mt pleasant for almost two years now and casually dismissed each peach as an overpriced designer grocery store up until today. I would quickly dip and grab some cheese or ice cream jubilee pints and then leave. I'm wrong and I feel stupid. The unassuming deli counter maybe small but serves hot, delicious deli sandwiches for less than ten dollars per sandwich. There's no plain old, dedicated american diner or deli in mtp or Columbia heights for all I know that isn't a brunch joint which is frustrating because sometimes a girl just wants a no frills sandwich without having to pay brunch prices. The dude this was exactly what I wanted. No, it's not the best sandwich you've ever had but it's a very good one and it's on point for the price. Highlights: Adequate meat. No skimping here. Fresh, creamy mozz- they're playing their a-game here. Portion size is on point- it's not jumbo but it's not scrawny either. No need for sides. Ingredients are sourced from the premium products they sell behind the counter - no generic sub roll, iceberg lettuce, or sysco food service condiments. If I had to complain it wasn't generic enough to invoke the nostalgia of going to a Baltimore or nyc Italian deli counter. But are we really going to complain about that? No, I'm not. And to give their groceries credit - it maybe a small store but unlike a generic coop with too many aisles of homeopathic remedies and four variations of brown rice, they have those essential, hard to find groceries for a fantastic homemade meal. I've spotted pomegranate molasses and guanchiale - does your corner grocery have guanchiale? I don't think so. read more

Five stars for COVID safety and precautions and keeping the sandwich menu! My partner was sad that the banh mi is off the menu but the rock creek pork is a mainstay. Love that we can order online and do an almost no-touch pickup. We've tried to recreate the sesame noodles with the NYT recipe with no luck, they are delicious! The prepared food at the peach is great but always check the date, sometimes the "best by" date is a little longer than one would want for purchased prepared food (I would suggest giving to the employees on the last day and cutting a day off the "best by"). Fresh produce is always good and often cheaper than the farmer's market but with some vendor overlap I think. The other items...I mean you're definitely paying a premium for convenience. We just got our thanksgiving meal from here. Everything was dry and lacked flavor. Mashed potatoes were clumpy and also dry and flavorless like everything else. We followed the directions for heating carefully, we even ate it a couple hours after picking it up cause wanted to eat it for lunch. $175 for a 4 people meal. Don't get your holiday meals from here. I don't know about their other food. I don't usually comment on yelp but I don't want anyone else to be disappointed with their holiday meal in the future.I'm glad I didn't have guests this year , I would have been mortified to serve this thanksgiving meal to others. read more

Each Peach Market provided cheese, fruit, and cruditee platters for our Open House of about 50 guests. Beth was extremely helpful in determining what might be appropriate as well as quantities needed. I left the choice of cheeses to the pros since all that they offer has been carefully curated. The platters were delivered as scheduled. The food was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented, and glowing compliments were heard round the room. I would definitely use them again and recommend their products and service to friends. read more

I drop in to shop for a treat - be it $9 hand churned butter with sea salt flakes from Vermont with a fresh baguette or La Fermière yogurt (cos I can never have too many of their yogurt pots). The fresh baked good, cheese selection, diary case, and deli meats are wonderful to peruse and check out. The produce section has some great gems including seasonal fruits and veggies. This is a great place to shop for food gifts as well. read more

Like a very small Yes! with a really nice deli counter. Everything is somewhat to very expensive though there's the occasional bargain on local produce, and their housemade pate in a little jar is super reasonable. In addition to various fancy charcuterie, they sell sandwiches at the deli counter (recommend the chicken salad) and stock their refrigerated area with made in house soups and salads. They've got lots of baked goods, breads (though they sometimes run out), and a small but obviously curated selection of wines, beers, and ciders. I think the prices were in line with big business (and the sad, overpriced bodegas around the corner from me), so I disagree with other comments about prices. For instance, $3.50 for a three-pack of organic Romaine hearts and $2.50 for a large baguette. I will definitely be back!!! read more

So I shop here a lot. I've bought charcuterie cheese etc a lot. I've spent all told thousands of dollars over the years and a number of times have gotten $200 of charcuterie or cheese. Customer service never been the strongest suit. Today I went on line to order cheese and charcuterie for s 50th birthday brunch for 60 people. They carry things (I know) like finochiona, that weren't on line. So I called to place the order. The woman who answered said I had to place order on line. I explained it was a big order , and I wanted things I know they have but weren't on like. She said "just put that in your on line message". I explained I wanted to talk to someone about what they had in stock so I could make my choices. She didn't say call back later, or someone will get back to you. She just kept repeating put it in on line. Finally I said if no one could talk to me. I'd just order from someone else. She said "order from someone else then," and hung up. She was. On speaker and the 10 year old listening to her said she was so rude. read more

Each Peace is a small, good looking market catering to the urban professional who cares to buy local and organic foods. It's one small room on Mt Pleasant Street just three blocks from the Columbia Heights Metro. Each Peach Market sells anything from local chocolate to high quality artisan coffee and everything in between including produce, canned goods, etc. They also serve as a pick up spot for a local CSA. It's a little pricey compared to nearby Giant or Safeway, but if you live close, it's a fun place to visit. read more

TWICE in the last 4 days i've walked into this store and twice have been spoken to by staff with a snooty attitude. They are lucky we are going through a pandemic and their business seems to be doing well. I however, am not giving them one more cent. Aside from their arrogant attitude, it definitely feels like they are price gouging. For a small pie enough for one person they are charging $12.00. i would much rather give my money to www.igourmet.com or drive to Rodman's on Wisconsin who does circles around them when it comes to service, price and selection. read more
