    Tuna sandwich
    Daisy S.

I came for lunch and ordered the Tuna sandwich. It was filling and good. I ate half my sandwich outside because I was starving but I wished they had a sitting area inside (it was hot AF outside). Staff were friendly. I would definitely come back to try other items on their menu.

The cashier was friendly and the muffin recommendation was on point with the cinnamon crumbs muffin it was amazing! That sausage egg and cheese bagel was good and the service was on point.

Is there anything better in D.C. than Kelly's soup? Winter, Summer, Autumn I swear I can eat it everyday!!

    #5, no tomatoes

Just a really really solid sandwich. The bread (which they get fresh daily from a bakery) is incredible, 15/10. Lots of sandwich options, including byo and like 4 or so veggie options (and not the standard mozz, tomato, basil) which is awesome and not super common for Italian sub shops. Didn't realize you could add on free toppings so wish they had clarified and the sandwiches coulda used a bit more heft for the price but otherwise very tasty and will return for sure.

Great breakfast bagel sandwiches within walking distance from our hotel - and picked up some snacks from their store.

This is a very small bakery but, there were many ppl in line so I figured it would be pretty good. I went in for something sweet as it was about 8 in the morning but, there were scones, fresh out of the oven that I had to try. I got the cheddar and chive scones. OmG. So warm and good. Crisp edges and soft and fluffy everywhere else. I ate it in minutes. This would go amazing with a side of pasta. My goodness. 10 out of 10. When I am back in the area, I'll try a warm Blueberry scone.

We were lucky enough to snag some goodies and got a bit of everything, we just weren't patient enough to wait to photograph everything. We did the Za'atar Gruyère Croissant, chocolate croissant, the cheese biscuit item they had (don't remember exact name) and the sfogliatelle. I'm in search of the best croissant in DC, so I regret not getting the regular croissant on this visit, but the chocolate croissant gave me an idea of what to expect. Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. When we asked what the most popular items were, we were surprised it wasn't the more classic bakery items, but we enjoyed what we tried. We want to go back soon to try some other items as well. My friend got a coffee and also enjoyed that! This is the perfect place to stop by for a treat if you make it in time!

Sandy was the staff member who assisted me, and she was super informative and helpful. She explained that everything (except the wine) was small batch and made specifically for Spirits and Spice. I was most interested in the alcohol, and they have soo many different unique flavors/types. You can try them, too, which was very helpful in making decisions. Their wall of liqueur was impressive. I tried several and eventually settled on a Butter Praline (a milky liqueur) and an agave based one called Sundrop (flavors of citrus and green apple) that was very refreshing. I am very excited to have the Praline one in my coffee, and the Sundrop will be delicious on its own or with a seltzer. I look forward to coming back! While the spirits were delicious, the customer service is really what stood out. I highly recommend!

Overall they have a really nice collection with flavors youre not going to to find most places. Nearly everything I tried can be drank straight - very high quality for true liquor/cocktail people. It's definitely a pricey store and I think a lot of the products are small batch. Not your everyday liquor store but great for something special or different. They also sell balsamics and oils! Happy to know this place is here and will be back!

This was easily one of the most entertaining brunches I've experienced in the DMV, while still maintaining an upscale vibe. From the singer taking special requests during brunch to the live entertainment afterward, drummers, dancers, and a saxophonist turning things into a full brunch party...we were thoroughly entertained from start to finish. What really stood out, though, was that the food matched the energy. At some places, you get great entertainment but mediocre food - not here. Everything was beautifully presented, served at the perfect temperature, and genuinely delicious. My friend was so impressed with her birthday celebration that she thanked me for days afterward. The service was impeccable, the space is stunning with plenty of Instagram-worthy moments, and despite how busy it was, it somehow still felt warm and welcoming. If you're in the mood to get dressed up, enjoy an upscale brunch, celebrate a special occasion, or impress someone on a date, this is definitely the place. I heard good things about their sandwiches. My go to is normally Mangialardo's on Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC or Carl's Subbs on Rhode Island Ave in NE DC. I think I will stick to both of them next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me as a first timer but the sandwich was totally disapointing! NOT worth it, at all. I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office. I decided not to eat the rest of the meatless sandwich and just take the loss. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend a friend to try it

I don't even know how to describe the energy in this place, but you can just feel it the moment you walk in. The restaurant has a dark aesthetic that gives it such a cool, cozy ambiance. My daughter and I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and spicy wontons. Everything was so filling that we ended up ordering another bowl of the Dan Dan noodles! And honestly, I still crave them. The Dan Dan noodles were SO good. The sauce was the perfect combination of creamy and spicy, and there was a generous amount of minced pork that balanced everything out really well. The wontons paired perfectly with the chili sauce that came with them! They were spicy--my ears turned red and my nose started running--but I literally could not stop going back for another bite. Even the wontons alone were incredibly filling. I don't live anywhere near this place, and I genuinely wish I did. I traveled pretty far to get here, and I'd absolutely do it again.
