I switched jobs 2 years ago and my previous dentist didn't accept my new insurance. I finally got around to checking out dentist in my area and came across Gentle Dentist. I'm very glad that I did. From the moment I reached out to the time I left, everyone was so nice and understanding. Upon entering, the office was very clean and I was greeted right away. I had my first exam which included taking tons of x-rays to get a good look before talking to me. The techs were great. I was told about an elective oral cancer screening that I decided to opt out on. Part of the initial exam included a test by the hygienist to see if you are at risk for gum disease. I didn't remember doing that with my last dentist and I had been with her for 6 years. After the hygienist was done, Dr. Kim came in to review the x-rays and begin her portion of the exam. Everything went well, she heard my concerns and I made another appointment for my cleaning. Another thing that got my attention about this office is that they are open till 6 on Monday's. That is so important for when you are not able to take off work or leave early. I look forward to making this my primary dentist . read more

This place is awesome. I recently had to switch dental offices and if you're anything like me when it comes to the dentist you know that's stressful as all get out. Upon arrival on my first visit I was greeted by the warmest staff ! Everybody that day was amazing and very attentive to my needs. I have the worst gag reflexes and most places try to tell me it's not that bad but here they listened and let me gather myself when I needed to! I will NEVER go back to this dentist... I have been going here since Kim Harris was there as a child and since she left it's been terrible. They are more worried about billing your insurance than proper patient care. Hence why I have a cavity that's been fixed 3 times in 4 years by their subpar employees... Do not go to this dentist. Very bad service! They ask us for new patient examination before doing regular cleaning. They took the x-ray for our every teeth and x-ray equipment is dirty and have a very bad smell. After exam, they said we have to wait another four month to do cleaning. They told us new patient exam is free and insurance covered. However, they sent us $100 bill after one week. We didn't get any cleaning and have to pay $100. read more

I went there with a lot of tooth pain and I just assumed it would be an extraction. DDS Lee was my dentist. After a few x-rays were done, she examined them saw that I had a crack in the very tooth I was complaining about. She suggested I go to an oral surgeon. What?? For a cracked tooth? I don't carry dental insurance so everything was out of pocket. She also told me it might be a sinus infection. Are you kidding me? I'm 47 years old and know what a toothache feels like. Then she says come back in a week. Wait a whole week with a freaking toothache? So that was $120 down the drain. 3 days later, the pain was unbearable and I just went to Immediadent on W. 38th and they looked at it and knocked out my extraction for about $600. Pricey, but hey $600 is a lot cheaper than an oral surgeon. Plus with Immediadent I was walk-in - whole thing was done in about 3 hours. Eagle Creek Gentle Dentist didn't seem experienced at all. I see a few other reviews had a similar experience with them. Sorry, but you don't leave your patients in pain like that and if you can't handle a basic extraction, what are you doing in dentistry in the first place? read more

I had not been to a dentist in over 10 years, due to fear and lack of insurance. I finally could put it off no longer, and grudgingly made an appointment to see this dentist. I wish i had gone to see them sooner. They LISTENED. They explained everything up front. They placated my fears, and the instant i was in discomfort, it was corrected. Honestly, i couldn't ask for a better dental hygiene crew than at Dr Kim's office. I am no longer fearful of the dentist. I blame them for this development. :) read more

PLEASE DO NOT SEEK TREATMENT FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT!! I too felt pressured and misinformed about several procedures that were provided at the dental office of Kim E. Harris, DDS at Eagle Creek Gentle Dentist. I also could have faced a possible life-threatening ectopic pregnancy due to their gross negligence. If you at all value your health and receiving competent care, do not seek treatment here. Exactly as Sean M. described, I was swindled into paying for elective treatments (Oral Cancer Test) as well as buying unnecessary equipment. I was also pressured into purchasing an overpriced electric toothbrush from their office as they were concerned that bacteria may grow in a small cut they found in my gum...otherwise I had no cavities or other problems. They told me that all other electric toothbrushes weren't very effective and that I needed to purchase this one from them because it was superior and dentist-recommended. I came to find out later that I could have purchased the same exact one for cheaper elsewhere and that their endorsed brand actually has a poor rating compared to other brands/models. However, these business techniques aren't even why I suggest you don't seek treatment from this office. After my initial appointment, I was scheduled to return the next day to receive a deep cleaning due to the small cut they found in my gum. The dentist and oral hygienist were telling me that they were putting this medication into that area to help it heal and prevent infection. I specifically asked if this medication would interact with my oral contraceptive. I am very conscientious about any medication that I take, so I questioned them about it to make sure if I needed to take any additional precautions. I was told that it had no effect on my oral contraceptive because it isn't systemic and was only in a localized area, that their drug representative comes regularly and had never mentioned this as a side effect, and that they had been doing this for years and had never heard of anyone claiming that it effected their oral contraceptive. A month later I found out that I was pregnant! I take my oral contraceptive at the same exact time each day due to an alarm I set on my phone and hadn't received any other prescriptions or over-the-counter medications at all in the months prior to this dental visit. Because that medication/doctor visit was the only thing different in my normal routine, I found my receipt from the Gentle Dentist that listed the medication they had prescribed to research it for myself. IT TOOK ME LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES TO FIND THE MEDICATION MANUFACTURER'S COMPANY WEBSITE WHERE THEY LISTED A SIDE EFFECT OF DECREASING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE. This is not me self-diagnosing or looking at blogs or articles not based off of fact/research. This is the drug manufacturer's website listing their side effects for public knowledge. Shortly after finding out that I was pregnant I had a previously scheduled follow-up appointment coming up with the dentist. During that appointment I could have approached the dentist and staff there in a different manner, but was very calm and respectful when I shared with them that I had been misinformed about the treatment I had received which led to my unplanned pregnancy. My husband and I weren't planning on having kids for another couple of years, but at least we were in a financial position that we could prepare for this unexpected pregnancy. I just didn't want them to make the same mistake with someone else who may not be in the relationship or financial position that I was in. I didn't expect them to admit fault, but I thought they would at least say something like "Thank you for the information and we'll look into your concerns." But no, they accused me of taking other medications or missing my pill and trying to blame it on them. Then they went on for a few minutes about how the drug representative never mentioned this as a side effect. I even offered to pull up the medication's website to show them the evidence that what they were claiming was not at all true. Regardless of whatever the drug representative may or may not have told them, as a medical professional YOU SHOULD RESEARCH AND KNOW THE EFFECTS OF THE PROCEDURES AND MEDICATIONS YOU ADMINISTER. As a medical professional, you cannot legally blame a commissions-based sales representative without a medical degree for misinforming you on the side effects of different medications. In this case, I could have had a potentially life-threatening ectopic pregnancy from taking my oral contraceptive while pregnant. read more

I do not recommend this dental office. The following is my personal experience from visiting this dentist. I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau about the business practices of the dental office of Kim E. Harris, DDS at Eagle Creek Gentle Dentist. From my first hand experience this dental office is not in the business of offering standard insurance covered dental care to their clientele. Instead, they have developed and employ business techniques outside of standard insurance coverage to maximize profits without clearly defining the procedures that they are performing to their clients ahead of time. This creates unexpected out of pocket expenses for their clients. My visit on 10/05/11 to this "chain dental office" ended up leaving me feeling under serviced & my very basic needs for a teeth cleaning were not met. Even though I was told by Kim Harris, DDS and her assistant that I had no cavities or gingivitis and that I had healthy mouth, they refused to schedule me a standard cleaning until after I sat through a consultation with their "office manager" and I entered into their "Treatment plan" which cost $427.00 and at the minimum $188.00 out of my pocket assuming my insurance would cover their estimates. I have a clear understanding of my dental insurance coverages. This dental provider will say that they diagnosed me as needing "deep cleaning to prevent gum infection", prior to a standard cleaning. I read other negative reviews online, this is a standard part of their "Treatment plan" which I had to be a part of in order to receive care. My insurance company and most as I have since found out, do not cover an elective procedure called an "Oral Cancer Test". I was already sitting in the dental chair when the assistant brought me the oral mouth fluid for this elective test. I was unaware that they were going to be performing elective tests that are not part of a standard insurance coverage and I should have been asked up front if I wanted services not covered. I'm not questioning the validity of the test, just the technique that was employed to ensure I incurred more expenses than my normal $5.00 co-pay. I felt like I was sitting in a time share sales meeting and was being extorted to pay additional monies in order to receive any basic dental care. I have asked the BBB to contact Kim E. Harris for a refund of the $38.00 for the elective treatment that I didn't want in the first place. I'm going to place this review on Yelp.com and other well traveled websites for people looking for reviews to find a reputable dentist. Look for a dentist who is not associated with a "chain name" Find a dentist who genuinely cares about providing you basic insurance covered needs. read more

This is a great office filled the best staff, especially Jessica, Sarah & both receptionists. I had not been to a dentist in 10 years after the horrific experience growing up. Not once did I receive a guilt trip or condemnation for the gap. Everyone there genuinely wants to help me have a healthy mouth. They are flexible with my schedule. And they remember as soon as I pull up. They are not too far from my office in Park 100, so I can easily fit a cleaning in on my lunch break. read more
