After we purchased our items, one of the guys from the opposite side of the store tried to claim that she stole a TWISTED TEA when she HAS NO POCKETS ON HER PANTS. Go check your cameras. You're horrible at you're job. If you're gonna be a pig, come up with a better excuse. Worst service ever. Won't be returning.

But, alas, we live on the east side, so we are blessed with Elite Beverages. I am thankful for Elite. Sitting here in my home without pulling up Google Maps, I can't think of another liquor store around me. The closest one I would visit would have to be Chilly's in Greenfield, but I don't want a 30 minute round trip and Elite is easy to hit on my way home. So, while I am not always impressed with Elite, I am thankful it is near by my place of residence. The store has a decent selection. Not great. Not bad. It's just a smaller store. They pack a lot in (read: the aisles are tight), but sometimes I just can't find what I am looking for. The attendants are kind, but I wouldn't say overly helpful. I am sure they would help if I ask, though. They just do their thing behind the counter. My only real gripe is the store layout. The dedicated spirit aisles are nice (tequila, rum, vodka) and I actually didn't realize how large their whiskey and bourbon selection was, so that's a positive. No, my gripe is with the wine. It is spread out all over the place. Whites here, Indiana wines there. They have a nice wooden wine rack, but it is literally where people line up to pay, so you feel like you are in everyone's way or they are staring at you. It the wine was just on the other side of the room, I'd be tempted to bump this up to 4 stars. I can't help but wonder: Is the liquor store supposed to be elite or their products? Like, "We are Elite. We offer beverages." Or, "We are a store. We sell elite beverages"? I am guessing the beverages. Maybe with 3 stars they should consider a name change. I did learn something important today: listen to people who know what they are talking about. I normally don't think about wine pairings. I like dry red so that is what I drink. Steak: dry red. Chicken: dry red. Pasta: dry red. But someone gave me a piece of advice I decided to heed. For dinner, I had bagged caesar salad. I do love a good caesar salad! Is bagged salad good? Sometimes. It was easy and sounded good. Well, the advice was to have a nice, crisp fruity Riesling with a caesar salad. Would that do the trick? Would that elevate this bagged caesar to gourmet status? Well, dang it if it didn't work. The riesling made the salad sing to my taste buds. Every bite was brisk and refreshing. Listen to people who are in the know and may know more than you. Words to live by, in my book!

This store has a really nice and large selection of vodkas ranging from low end to fancy flavors to a few higher end vodkas. I opted for a mid range large bottle that's 100 proof. Since I mix it with sweet beverages I am not that picky about my vodka:) However, I was looking instead for our favorite scotches ... Grant's. Unfortunately, they don't carry Grant's, but they do have Famous Grouse which is really a close second. I'm not even going to say i've had a lot of different kinds of scotch whiskey, but I have had enough to have an opinion now. Their prices on most essential beverages are competitive.

I actually WALKED OUT of the liquor store without my beverage on a way to a party because the man in there today is a complete child. The woman ahead of me was insisting that her item rang up wrong and did they offer to go check? Or even say anything? No. She even said fine she'll pay the price- but the sign is wrong. The employee proceeds to throw her credit card to the ground and stomps off to check the price like a 5 year old. Seriously? I was flabbergasted. I said "we are your customers" and he gave us a death stare. At which point I opted to leave and so did the girl with the actual issue. I will never return and I have never seen anything like it. The store was well stocked, had a decent variety and really nice store staff. I was buying some Fireball and he offered me a shot of a new liquor called Angel and Demons. It's got a similar cinnamon whisky taste, a little less alcohol content and a little cheaper. It was good. I guess at any time they also have a few diff types of stuff you can try out if you are want something different. They also have gift packs for the holidays already!

I was a fan of the original Pam's Pitstop near the track. I was sad, and angered, to see it go,…read morebut that is imminent domain and progress for you. I decided to finally check out the new location a couple weeks ago. The newer Pam's Pitstop Liquors is a little tucked away and further from the speedway than the original, but it is interestingly in an old auto garage, it seems. The exterior of the building needs a bit of work at first glance. On the inside is a narrow aisle that wanders throughout a maze of liquor. It has a bit of a cluttered feel with all sorts of things for sale everywhere as well as signs depicting brands like Rolling Rock across the walls. I saw everything from ready-made shooters in glass vials to mini spicy snack sausages. I didn't get a look at all they had on the shelves, as I was headed to the beer cooler at the back. Pam's has a pretty good beer selection. Not all of my favorites are there, but quite a few. They don't have the absolute lowest prices, but not the highest either. They also have a decent selection of single tall-boys in the cooler which I was used to seeing in every gas station in other states I have lived in. Since Indiana only has those chilled at liquor stores apparently, it has been awhile since I have seen those and nearly forgot they could be purchased here at all. The beer I wanted was not on sale and I didn't see anything else that caught my fancy at the time, so I just got an oil can of Foster's ale to try. Not the best ale I have ever had by any means, but it was worth a shot. Nice little store that is locally owned that I much prefer to the chain down the street. It has personality and I feel good shopping here. Friendly service by who we assume was Pam herself. I am sure I will return to look around some more and make a larger purchase in the near future.

The guy at the counter was also friendly and helpful. The place has its own parking lot and has access to a side street with a stop light for easy access onto the busy Madison Avenue. They have national, international and local brand options at Party Pak. Are you from out of town and like a beer from a local brewery from your home state? They might have it, so it's worth asking. You can even mix and match your own 6 pack, which is probably where their name comes from since it's like a variety/party 6 pack. I didn't talk to the employee much but they seemed willing to help us. They greeted us when we came in but that was all. I don't mind quiet employees, although it is always nice to have an employee recommendation. Hopefully I can get back to Indianapolis soon so I can stop by here again to try out some of their local selection.

I walked into this liquor store and was greeted right away from the guy working. He asked me if i was looking for something specific, and he was able to help me find exactly what i was looking for immediately. He was very accommodating and I was in and out in seconds. Store was clean, and there were lots of options to choose from. Store attendant was professional and kind. I also am a younger gal and sometimes am nervous being alone in liquor stores, esp late night. I felt safe and will definitely stop by here again.
