Lovely spot for casual dining. Surpri fly good for a golfing location. Outside seating on the patio with pleasant breezes as the full moon rose over the water made a perfect evening. Food: 5/5. We tried their grilled chicken sandwich, their 1/2 pound hamburger with cheese and bacon, and their club salad with dried cherries and pecans. All were done nicely and tasted yummy. We would highly recommend all 3 menu items. Service 5/5: The servers were so pleasant and friendly. Brit was super helpful. We were not rushed. The setting is lovely -overlooking the golf course and water. We didn't eat inside but the bar area where we ordered was clean and attractive and the patio where we ate had tables well spaced. read more

I would not recommend coming here ever. My windshield was smashed by a gulf ball as i was leaving the Marriott hotel parking lot. The staff at the gulf club will tell you they are not liable and there is nothing they can do about it while being rude and completely unwilling to help. I was told it's the person that hits the balls fault and you would have to confront the person and have them pay for it. There were 200+ people on the gulf corse that day. So if you have an extra $500 lying around for windshield repairs this is the place for you. They told me this has happened 3 other times this summer. They don't care at all. Wish i could give 0 stars. I'll never go anywhere near this place again. read more

Haven't played here for awhile and was looking forward to it. What followed was one of the worst experiences I've had on a golf course. First, this is a course that charges premium prices. Yet there was no ranger or policing of the pace of play. A group was allowed to play as a group of six. As a result, every tee was two to three groups deep behind them. It took three hours to play the back nine and was a five hour round on a weekday afternoon There was a ten minute wait after every shot. For a course to allow this and charge the rates that they do is an embarrassment. There are plenty of nicer courses that are more affordable and care about the experience their customers have. That is the last time I will play this overrated track. Do yourself a favor and spend your afternoon elsewhere. read more

A lakefront resort within the city. Well worth the drive out of state to play here! By far the best views of any course i have played. And it was only $30 all you can play twilight rate!! A little challenging if you're not a pro but well worth the time and money. read more

I loved golfing here when I was a student because the discount was sooo good (sometimes $15 to walk 9 holes) but the course easily commands a $40-50 green fee. Being off of Ford Lake you definitely do not feel like you are in Ypsilanti, there are plenty of trees and the first hole has a beautiful waterfall/ small pond behind the green. Many holes are challenging, but some are very easy so it keeps you on your toes. Many of the staff I noticed are on the golf team so they are knowledgeable and respect you as a golfer. The driving range is grass and makes you feel like you are hitting off into the lake. Sad that I've moved and can't come here as often, but I have a lot of fond memories! read more

Not sure if this is a regular happening at this place, but I would not take the chance again. This is absolutely the BEST course in Washtenaw County that does not require a CC membership or affiliation with the University of Michigan. That said, I still believe it compares favorably with the aforementioned courses. Other than hole 8, you feel like you are either at a secluded up-north course or at a resort, unlike the U-M stadium course that is bordered by two busy streets. Ford Lake provides spectacular views throughout, this is a hidden gem in SE Michigan. It is truly a fabulous track! read more

The NCCGA Midwest hosted our Fall 2013 Regional here and what a challenging test of golf it was. We played in the late fall and the course could not have been in better shape - the greens were fast and true and the fairways and rough were adequately manicured. There is a lot of water and hazard areas, but this adds to the course's prestige as you are forced to hit many different types of shots to keep it in play. The staff at the course was very accommodating to college students and really helped us in running the event smoothly. I booked a tee time for 6:30AM on Saturday morning (7/27) specifically to be done early. Upon showing up to the course I waited inside the pro shop for 10 minutes before the gentlemen came in from flirting outside with one of the workers. He was rude from the start, unfriendly and just seemed like he hated being there. That's all fine and well, not my problem, I paid and went to my cart and proceeded to head towards hole #1 as it was 7:25 and 5 min before my start time. The gentlemen from the pro shop came out and told me to wait, that I am now at 6:40 AM and paired with another 3-some. I was so surprised that I didn't say anything and he was back in the pro shop before I could respond. Confused, I asked the starter why I was pushed back 10 minutes and what was going on, to which I got a reply that two members who were at 6:30 wanted to play fast and get out on the course by themselves. I'm not a scratch golfer but I am a 7 handicap and typically play a solo round in under 2:15. This is also totally unacceptable, I don't care who you are, if I booked a tee time then that is my tee time...I had never in my hundreds of rounds played heard of something like this before. Fuming, I went into the clubhouse and patiently waited as the pro shop gentlemen was talking with another staff member. After about 5 minutes he finally said in a very rude tone, "what do you need?" I had planned on letting my frustrations known but in a calm and controlled manner, however after this continued display of utter rudeness, disrespect, and unorthodox methods I replied that I was very upset about being moved back. I mentioned that I had intentionally signed up for an earlier time to have a quick round, and now I'm pushed back with a 4-some. Upon asking why, he replied that staff have control to move singles around to accommodate better scheduling last minute. Again, completely unusual and disrespectful of the people coming to play a round who planned on a specific time. So, I was planning to play with that 2-some who 'just so happen to be members'. Additionally I mentioned nowhere in the SupremeGolf fine print does it state this flexibility of the course. He then answered that he doesn't know what SupremeGolf is, which is just astonishing for working in a pro shop. After explaining what it is he rebutted that the golf course doesn't control what SupremeGolf has on their website and that the course has final say....um WHAT?!? Completely beside myself and steaming I walked out without another word as there was nowhere I was going to get with this guy. This was just an awful way to start a round, worst customer service I've ever had at a golf course. I specially booked my time as I had things to do later that day and the course just completely didn't care and disregarded that with no respect for other people's time, therein pushing my round from what would have been a 2-2:30 to 4+ hr round. The course should 100% refund my round based on this experience, completely unacceptable. Onto the course. I've been waiting to play here for over a year and just never did because it's on the costlier side but decided to try it out. It was $65 for 18-riding. In short this course is not worth the money. Seemed like they didn't cut the fairways in 2 weeks. Greens were completely covered in goose crap, should at the least be blowing them off regularly it was disgusting. I don't think I stood on one level tee box, more bumpy and hilly than the greens and divets all over you couldn't be on a tee box without standing on one. No bathrooms until the 9th holes when you're back at the clubhouse...didn't update the GPS in cart to account for pin placement changes...I could go on and on. Take out the bad service and I still will never play here again, for the cost it's not worth the money at all. There are so many better courses within a 10-mile radius for $10-$25 cheaper. Add in the customer service, which I should be contacting the manager about, and I'm going to be badmouthing this place every time I'm out somewhere else enjoying a cheaper round so no one is treated this way and wastes their money...but at least those two members were happy today. read more

After paying for a season membership to this course it's safe to say I couldn't regret it more. The staff is rude and does not know what is going on or how to run a tee sheet. Don't expect any sort of golf etiquette from any of the greenskeepers or staff as well because they have none whatsoever. I have now walked off the course 4 times in a row before finishing 9 holes and the starters are oblivious to the slow play. Unless you are willing to waste 8 hours of your precious time don't even bother showing up to this course. It's an abomination and any country park will give you a much better deal without wasting your entire day. Trust me I have been there at least 3 times a week all summer and it's been a joke every time! The course itself is in good shape but it's not worth the hassle or the money. read more

Eagle Crest Golf Club is well worth a visit. The operation is now a companion to the Ypsilanti area Marriott just off Huron Road and works well in combination with the resort (another YELP* review). The golf course operation is not over the top. Formerly the Eastern Michigan University home course, it's apparently too short for today's youthful big hitters, but not for the weekend warrior golfers. My friends and I played it short from around 6,200 yards and it was perfect fun and a great group of par 5's, 4's and 3's. The design uses every bit of available landscape to its advantage. There are inland portions through wooded areas which give the golfer a bowling-alley style feeling (aka claustrophobia) but then the course stretches out along hills and flatlands, taking you down to Ford Lake which also comes into view and play throughout the round. There are a few blind tee shots and having some local knowledge of the course layout might save you 2 - 4 strokes the next time you play it. It's strength??? THE SPEED of the greens. Flat out hot hot hot fast. My key? Pay very close attention to the terrain. The greens look like they break one way but due to the layout being carved out of a huge hilltop area the breaks go opposite of your initial reads. Very tricky. Why not a 5-STAR? Well, there are a couple holes which bothered my inner golfing sense (snob, right). Hole No. 11 has one of the biggest trees smack dab in front of the green. A Par-4 that is short and plays downhill, your short iron shot is delofted and therefore you cannot... I believe,.... cannot flight a shot over the tree to a green that is way, way up high on a hilltop. Unplayable.... but visually stunning. Go see for yourselves! Eagle Crest Golf Club is a really, really fun day of golf and very challenging. read more
