Things are going to get worst for Texas businesses in general when transplants begin to saturate the the local market with skilled professionals, which has already begun. That response was both unprofessional and disheartening. I understand that not every office has the same level of training or experience, but there is a clear difference between appropriately referring a patient and how that message is communicated. No attempt was made to explore alternative testing methods or accommodations. After sharing my experience publicly, the office responded stating they did not have the training to examine my daughter and chose not to proceed because they would not "do a good job." Families deserve to be treated with respect, even when a provider may not be the right fit. I hope this feedback encourages more awareness and better communication in the future.

I chose this optometry office because it was right next to my local Costco and it accepted my vision insurance. It's a pretty small office inside with 2 exam rooms. The staff and patients were required to wear masks. I was taken to one of the exam rooms and the staff did sanitize all the equipment for the eye exam in front of me. The optometrist who did my eye exam was professional and helpful. He asked me more than once if I still had any questions for him, which was great. My only complaint was that he touched my eyelids during the eye exam with his bare hands. Mind you, he did sanitize them beforehand. I was hoping he'd wear gloves. Overall, I'm still glad I got my eye exam done here.

My biggest advice is to educate yourself on what your insurance truly covers before you go. The doctor was good, but the billing process was concerning. Despite having a high-premium insurance plan--where my out-of-pocket cost for new glasses is usually very low--they attempted to increase my payment by adding unnecessary copays and adjusting tier levels to make me pay more. When I contacted my insurance representative to clarify, the office rep did not want to speak with my insurance and went on to inform me that they had actually stopped accepting my insurance, i guess a minute after I got my insurance rep on the line lol! Overall, my experience here raised red flags regarding billing transparency.

Communication is our biggest obstacle between client and business and vice versa. We don't think about what could be happening behind the scenes and we aren't able to make adjustments that can fix a situation if we don't communicate. I absolutely love Dr. Somji, he really cares about his business, his staff, his clients and the product he produces. I have trusted Horizon eye care with my vision since well before Dr. Somji became the owner and will continue to do so. When I changed health care companies it was my intent to use my insurance but knowing my doctor and staff was much more important to me. Thus I come back. The selection they have runs the gamut and I must say plays into my vanity. If I am going to wear glasses I at least want to look stylish. We change our clothes with the season, why shouldn't we change our frames too. Glasses are a necessary evil but our eyes can't be replaced so I trust mine to the best. Just a quick updated on their Halloween contact lens selection…read more I was extremely embarrassed and shy to ask the reception people if they sell these contacts because it almost seems like you're asking the dentist which candy they recommend...but please note that it's ILLEGAL to buy lens anywhere else than your eye doctor. I've read up on it and it's to discourage buying really crappy and unsterile products from off-market. They were very nice on phone and in person, you should REALLY order 2 weeks-3 weeks before Halloween because some items are more custom drawn. I saw: zombie, vampire, spinning top, hellraiser etc designs. NO SCLERA, that's more theatrical purposes. I got my traditional vampire lens a week after order. insurance does NOT cover this of course, it's cosmetic and I paid $60 I think for 2 lens. You can come back after you wear them and they will reseal the lens in the vials they come in. I unfortunately did not find the lens super comfortable. It might be because I have some chronic dryness from previous contact use and am used to the very breathable and light daily disposables. These are somewhat thicker but vision was great, I used drops to moisten eye etc. Will re-order for next Halloween!

TLDR: 2 hour appointment which should've taken 30-60 minutes, watching every client who showed up after my appointment time be seen and cleared before me.
