My wife called Breville and they told her it was malfunctioning and to bring it back as the water didn't heat and it didn't drip. We attempted to return it to the Sur La Table in Mizner Park in Boca Raton with the original purchase receipt from West Palm Beach. The manager of the Boca Raton store, Anastasia said that since it was opened and used that she would not be able to issue a credit throughout credit card account, but could exchange it or give us an in store credit. This is contrary to what was printed on the receipt. From other stores, we have made a purchase at one store and returned it to another of their stores. Recently, we purchased something from Tommy Bahama when we were in Sarasota and was able to return it to the Tommy Bahama in the Boca Raton mall. There was no issue as we had the original receipt. Why did we get a hard time returning a defective coffee maker to another Sur La Table? We tried setting up the coffee maker but we never were able to use it as it didn't work. We now have to make another trip to West Palm Beach to return the coffee maker to the Sur La Table that we purchased it from within the 30 day return period. This is a big inconvenience to us. We will be telling our friends and neighbors about this experience at the Boca Raton Sur La Table. We no longer will shop at Sur La Table.

Anastasia, the manager went through every item and checked the serial numbers with the numbers on the box and then had real difficulty putting it all back together again. Now that I understand Sur La Table does not take defective items back with the receipt in the original packaging two days after purchase - I WILl NOT SHOP HERE Again!!!! I have spread the word and told my friends and neighbors on next-door! It's a shame I love to cook, and I was a regular with this being my go to store!

On October 1st I went to the store and selected my slab. I then notified Nelson about my selection. Now the amazing part. Just 72 hours later Nelson contacted me and asked if they could do the install. I am sure my situation was somewhat rare and the stars aligned but I was truly astonished.
