Janusz was the man in charge for a staircase custom-designed railing inside the house. It had to match/complete a hand-forged 1934 railing that came with the house, and my husband is very picky with details: Janusz and his guys succeeded beautifully. I will not deny that it was a long process before the work actually started (Eagle Iron seems to be very busy) and we had to send many reminder emails ("Hello Janusz, how is our railing coming along?") before the job was finally tackled, but once it was, it was nicely executed and installed. It looks absolutely great, and we are very happy with the craftsmanship. read more

I am a general contractor and was referred to an outfit up on the Northbay, they were unresponsive so I started looking around for a new metal fab shop. I spoke with Jim, sent him a sketch with the necessary measurements, and two weeks later I went to pick up my railing to install for my customer, easy as pie! Yes, Eagle Iron is as good as it gets. I had an exterior stairway built, with two landings, not a simple project, and the results are great. I dealt with Vic and although he is a part owner, he was on the job site every day. The crews are meticulous, hard working, pleasant and accommodating. Unreliable and unprofessional. We arranged for Jim to come measure and build our custom dogpen. An approximate price had been discussed and we were in agreement of Jim doing the work. The day of our appointment Jim called saying there was a lot of traffic. We told him, anytime that day would work. We would be home all day. That's when Jim said, "well, are you going to pay me for my time?" This was the first time this had been mentioned...strange, but we asked what Jim had in mind? His response was $200. Again, this was the first time Jim mentioned this. Why was this not discussed prior to the day of? Don't you usually let your clients know all costs up front? We told him that seemed a bit steep especially when we were going to pay approximately $1000-$1200 for the pen. That's when Jim said well I have other projects I can be working on. Wow, very professional??? Seems dishonest and unreliable. I mean, what other costs are you going to spring on someone as you do the job? If you want someone who is going to be up front and will actually show up for the job, this is not the guy. Steer clear and don't waste your time with Jim (he has other projects). Excellent piece work while you wait - I had a broken bucket seat frame from my GMC Sierra pick up truck. I removed the seat and frame took it down and while I was waiting (maybe 10 minutes) they spot welded the broken part and it's good as new. read more
