    Master 2 bed 2 bath

This place was just fine for my needs. Convenient shuttle w/ regular runs to Lionshead Village or the transit center in Vail. Outdoor ski locker. They have a couple of outdoor hot tubs and sauna with dressing rooms. A little outdated in comparison to the other local resorts but well-appointed 2 bed 2 bath we stayed in seemed to be a good value for the early Feb Week in which we stayed. They are a partner with Falcon Point (in Avon). Apparently both are now a subsidiary of Welk Resorts, as well.

master/only bdrm. decent size with plenty of closet space.

We grabbed this place to use some pts that were going to expire w/o the cost of airfare. First, this is NOT a high-end ski-in ski-out location with a giant chandeliers in the lobby. It IS a great "off-broadway" location, quiet, friendly, comfortable space. The good: 5 minute drive to Vail village or Lionshead, 12 minutes to Beaver Creek. Great, friendly staff. Recently renovated with Comfy beds, granite counters, fully stocked kitchen, tile bath, new carpet and an elevator. Simple rec pool, 2 hot tubs, all clean, outdoor and in the center of the building. The summer stay includes activities, happy hours, day trips & such. The place is right on the river and there is a great park with tennis right across the river - a short walk to the end of the block to cross over. There is also a bike trail along the river. The Bad: Curb appeal is not good. First impression had me thinking I had made a huge mistake. The 2015 post about the windows is valid; small window in mbr, another to walkway by the door. But...It provides nice cross-flow in the summer (no A/C anywhere in Vail!) and there are blinds you can close and no shortage of lighting & fans. No summer shuttle Bottom line: We enjoyed our stay completely. Slept comfortably, saved money cooking in the suite.

Hidden West Vail gem! Recently remodeled with new carpet, upgraded kitchen and furnishings, Eagle Point is a quiet, low-key condo complex in West Vail. The newly installed elevator, free Wi-Fi in each unit and private shuttle into town from morning into the evening (at least in the winter) make it a great place to relax and experience Vail. The perfect place to spend a week, especially if you don't need "The Ritz".

Then, within a day , when Apple charger wouldn't charge, she told us we were too much trouble, not like the 'nice people' who preceeded us and ordered us out on July 4th weekend with 3 days notice. Stay far far away from unit 917 at the westin. It looks beautiful on the surface, is toxic to a family with a mere scratch. Today, given the selfish 'eviction ' she billed us for an extra day for late checkout (unit NOT booked that day or next) gouged housekeeping to include a lockoff bedroom not used and a carpet cleaning for a dog who used 2 not 4 rooms. Oops, I forgot to mention, she forced us to cover sofa with blankets and sheets. Who has a rental if you can't sit on the sofa? NEVER rent a Westin unit from VRBO or AIRBNB. From check-in to getting them settled, everything runs smoothly and takes away any stress. Another big plus is the pick-up and drop-off location. Gone are the days when renting skis/snowboards were part of the fun experience and we chatted with locals who loved their jobs. Now, Epic grossly understaffs their rental services and their ski lift employees. As a result, many of the workers appear to have stopped caring and the excitement we may have felt about skiing/snowboarding is washed away by a growing frustration that we may pick up from the stressed workers. The ski lift experience--that was once run by fun people who were as excited to be there as we were--is now understaffed and some of the workers seem to take it out on the customers. We witnessed workers harass customers with accusational questions, as if they were certain that the customers were using someone else's pass. They made big deals about it, calling security in a loud, attention-seeking manner that seemed to intentionally intimidate, and I wondered if these workers would be good candidates for ICE agents. One of the people I witnessed them harass was a special needs young man that was alone in line. he simply shut down and it was awful to see. Their prices are ridiculously high and are no refundable. we had 2 family members that couldn't go because they had the flu and Epic said they required proof. After we sent a doctor's note, they still did nothing. Epic is a chaotic, angry nightmare and put profit over people, ruining an otherwise fun ski trip with their poor customer service.

After spending summers and winters in Vail for the better part of 20 years, it is a place that grows on you like an old friend you can't quite quit. Some times there is comfort in familiarity. It can, however, be so bubbled going in to town possesses the jarring feeling of juxtaposition - like waking from a dream on a bed of clouds to having to run blocks for the last cup of coffee at your favorite Midtown breaky booth. Rant aside the terrain is vast, even with current limited terrain, and après-ski festivities can have a warmth that keep you out of the house past the "holy hour" as I call it, lift closing at four. Après, of course, officially begins at 4:00:00:01. :) And yes, it and everything else draws you back year after year. There's something to be said for routine in a resort town, knowing exactly what you're going to get. But after near-decades of visits, Vail's habitual charm, though solid, can't always beat the polish of Aspen. While Vail is unquestionably comforting and consistent, Aspen offers something more refined: quality service pretty much 100% of the time. There's an undeniable level of attention from instructors to high-end retail staff. The experience is tailored, not transactional. In Vail, by contrast, service is oft hurried even indifferent. At worst, it can drip with envy. The t-shirt girl who ignores, the hostess offering crass commentary to a coworker about guests. Even though you know it's about someone else it's so fun to stop and ask: "What, wait. I'm a seasonal sojourner. Are you talking about me?" Talk about a master class in making a person's face go flush! Aspen, however, always seems to maintain a small-town elegance, more authentic personas, or at least better (worthy of an Oscar) acting. And, it makes all the difference. Then there's the familiar, quietly loaded question you hear most often in Vail - from attendants, gallery owners, even bartenders: "How long are you in town for?" It's not really about your itinerary; it's about your wallet. Locals and seasonal workers tend to gauge your response to place you in their hierarchy of visitors. It's an odd ritual, and it always stops them cold if you reply, "We have a home here." Suddenly, the conversation shifts. No follow-ups. No small talk. Just instant deference. In the end, Vail remains a beloved habitat, but Aspen's refinement and superior service give it undeniable edge. Still, both stand so far above other ski destinations that comparing them to lower elevation or lower design standards, kinda feels unnecessary and, at worst, unfair.

This saved us a bunch of money from having to go out to eat all of the time with 10 people. It was large enough for us to have breakfast and dinner all together in one of the suites. Worked out perfectly. We noticed that one of the remote controls was missing batteries, so we used the one from the living room and all went well. Notified the front desk and they were on it immediately to get us those batteries. Great service! We did take advantage of the hot tub a couple of nights. They have an indoor hot tub and pool and an outdoor hot tub and pool, along with a sauna and a steam room. So many options and all free with your room. This is a great place to also bring a family. They have a playground and a free shuttle every 30 minutes to take you in to town for shopping and dining. This is a great property and I highly recommend then for a weekend or a week stay.

I was a little unclear about housekeeping as they gave me a flyer which I thought said I wouldn't get housekeeping, but I actually did. The one frustrating thing was trying to add a name to the reservation. At hotels, you can just call down to the front desk and get that taken care of. Here, I had to go to an owners portal (I'm not even an owner.... Just booked it direct on the Marriott website) and fill out a bunch of information about the guest, including their email address and address. It took them a long time to process, and I wasn't sure if the second person was going to end up having issues checking in. So, make sure you have all of your names right on the reservation to begin with! The shuttle was very quick both heading to Vail and leaving Vail. I was a little confused as to where to pick up the shuttle though at the hotel. I stayed in Evergreen and they said the shuttle would pick me up in front of the building, but I didn't know exactly where that was. It turns out that the front entrance is between the third and fourth floors of the hotel.

We found it on day two. Also, no one could tell us where the illustrious ski bridge was that supposedly makes the hotel ski in and ski out. We figured it out on our last day of skiing. I believe it is called the Creekside Trail or something. Note the hotel is only ski in. And you have take off your skis to cross a fairly busy road. There is no skiing out from the ski bridge. We booked a 5-night stay for New Year's week to celebrate my birthday, paying $10,000 during peak pricing. We chose this hotel for its location over newer and less expensive options, only to be met with a room that was outdated, dirty, and poorly maintained. Room Conditions: * Stained carpets and walls * Damaged headboard and cracked bathroom tiles * Moldy, peeling wallpaper and a musty, moldy smell in the bathroom * Dirty towels, scratched lamps, toothpaste spatter on the mirror, and stained sink and counters * A broken deadbolt on the door Service: The service was equally disappointing. At check-in, I immediately reported the room's condition, but the front desk staff refused to assist, telling me to speak to a manager the next morning. Over the next two days, I spoke with several staff members, including those claiming to be managers, yet nothing was resolved. I was told no other rooms were available, and they could not do anything. I asked to check out early and cancel my remaining days of my prepaid stay. They did agree but I am still waiting for refund. One manager, Bryanna, was especially rude and dismissive, showing no willingness to help. The staff seemed inexperienced and untrained, which I later learned was due to new management. Final Thoughts: This stay has been a nightmare. I've wasted days of my trip trying to resolve these issues with the hotel and Expedia, and I am still waiting for a refund for the unused nights. On top of that, the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, with no alternatives offered. This hotel is overpriced, poorly managed, and far from the luxury experience it advertises.
