The training and education delivered is top notch. I also received services there and was treated with kindness, care, and professionalism while there and even once I moved away. I was terrified to face what I needed to face and was met with patient, supportive women who continued to empower my choices, even when my fear and disorganized attachment style from my trauma tended to put up walls to shut them out so I would not receive help. I am safer now in my life and from certain people because of them and the resources they have shared with me. I thank them deeply for the time, money, and energy spent by them to ensure that I feel safe and supported in the world. I'm happy to share that right now I finally do. That change started at Peace House.

It's really clean, modern, with many resources, and great security. The staff that I met are genuinely caring, well trained, dedicated to helping people, and provide the best support possible. More people really need to know that this stellar community resource is available. I'm sure many do already (well, I know many do already) but maybe this way more will discover them. First off, they are not a new presence in the state, but have been around for well over 80 years! I won't go into history as they have information on their website (and you can drop by and ask them about it, too!), but at least know, if you haven't heard of them previously, you've been missing out and should hurry and try to make up for lost time! ;-) The ICCJ works to combat bigotry and discrimination in our communities. Their employees, few in number as they are, devote themselves to facilitate growth, support connections and foster understanding in and among people. They offer trainings both for private groups as well as for the public. In brief, they offer multiple retreats, throughout the year (mostly in the summer) for youth (e.g. Anytown and Global Leaders) and adults (i.e. Inclusion Summit). If you have any interest in social justice, this is a longstanding, reputable organization where you can engage and learn. I have yet to meet anyone who has any distaste for the ICCJ (and while I have by no means met all of their supporters - the reach of their impact is broad and extensive - I have met many supporters/members/friends etc.). Really, I could go on and on about this non-profit, which I love dearly (and love in the sincerest way, far more than just "I heart ...") I will end my comments here, concluding with this: the ICCJ, composed of a few dedicated staff and many, many volunteers, creates change in the community and helps tear down walls that divide us as humans, rebuilding healthy relationships and conscious minds.

From the moment that I accessed their website, I felt like I'd found the "holy grail" of business support. I have felt welcomed and encouraged. The classes are incredibly informative and helpful. (I am currently in a live-online class called Minding Your Own Business and am taking an online class called Dream Builders - I HIGHLY recommend both!) My mentor is Sarah Barstow, she is dedicated to and has a passion for empowering women in business. Sarah has truly helped me with inspired ideas and enthusiastic support. Because of WBCUtah, I have gained the confidence, and knowledge to take my venture to new heights. Praises to the Women's Business Center of Utah for making dreams come true!

This is a project of the International Rescue Committee in which participants receive technical…read moreassistance and training. They have affordable access to commercial kitchen space, and learn the steps to establishing a successful food business. Every Thursday they offer a set-cost boxed-meal service cooked fresh by a featured entrepreneur. I've been getting their weekly email for sometime now, that reminds you it's time to order the meals of the week. Meals will be available for pick up on Thursday's between 4:00pm - 6:30pm. Each week "Highlights" an international restaurant that is cooking for the week. You have two entre options to choose from (Omnivore and Vegetarian) along with extras to purchase, which is usually a side dish and/or dessert. Meals are around $10 and desserts are around $5.50. 43 miles round trip to get dinner for tonight in the dark, during rush hour, and it was raining. Not a good mixture to pick up meals tonight with the short window for pick up times. I had to leave work early in order to make it on time. I'm glad I did. I really loved the meals I got tonight from "La Pizea Andina" which is Venezuelan Cuisine. Meals were plentiful and tasty. I just which I didn't live/work so far away, and with the short window to pick up meals only on Thursday's, I'm just not able to order weekly like I would like to. It's a great way to enjoy a taste of international cuisine, and support local chefs, and community. I'm so glad I found this meal service. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

Each week there is a chef offering food from around the world, aa of now rotating between Burmese, Afghani, Sierra Leonean, Jamaican, Venezuelan, Sudanese, Nepali/Bhutanese, Syrian, Armenian/Russian, Somalian, Indian, and other Middle Eastern cuisine. The price isn't bad, the servings are pretty large, and it is for a great cause! I have really enjoyed the food here, as well. It is very fun to try some food that is not accessible in Utah.

We were told that she didn't have to sleep but could bring a book and have quiet time. We had her take a couple of books with her for quiet time. After the first day she told us that she was made to sleep on a cot that was half her size and when she would open her eyes that the "teacher" would tell her to shut her eyes. When we brought this to their attention we were just told that kids aren't required to sleep and that kids are told to be quiet. The issue was not properly addressed. The facility is advertised as a place of learning but show very little in that regard. There was also issues with the billing amounts. We have since got our daughter into another place and she loves it there and is excited to go, where she dreaded going here.

It's a beautiful old house turned into a beautiful center where kids are interviewed and examined after dealing with childhood trauma/abuse. When you walk in the front doors you are greeted into a warm and welcoming living area, complete with handmade stuffed bears, a dollhouse, board games, snacks books etc. The work they do is amazing. They have interview rooms and a medical room. While I hope my child never needs to visit a place such as this, I can honestly say this building felt like a warm inviting home, that I'd want my child to visit rather than a stuffy cold office building or doctors office. I loved seeing the artwork on the walls find by children. Obviously no names are on the artwork, but it was intriguing to see the things they created. Staff was friendly and welcoming and our girls enjoyed learning more about what they do.
