The people who run this organization are incredibly charitable and put so much effort into these dogs and cats. I recently visited and they had three dogs available. They were happily running around inside their enclosures outside under the shade of the tree. There were lots of other dog runs/kennels that looks much smaller, but also like they were no longer in use. There were not a lot of animals to choose from-but maybe that's because they all found homes or were in foster homes when we visited. Hopefully that's the case-and they are getting closer to their goal of No More Homeless Pets!

The kittens were always very well taken care of and you could tell that they came from quality foster homes. Very reasonable, adoption fees, spayed, and neutered and current on vaccinations. I've also had the pleasure of fostering kittens with Second Chance. The owner does what she says and supplies you with everything you need to take care of the animals. The commitments are not long and she is able to take the animals back as promised and on time. I recently was in there, and there was a woman trying to adopt a dog. It was obvious the woman did not have a home. The owner was not going to allow the woman to adopt the dog because she did not have a safe place for the dog to live. Although the woman was very upset, the owner was very professional and kind as she explained that she could not in good conscience adopt a pet out that didn't have a safe environment. percent she is concerned about the welfare of the animals. I will always refer people to them whether they're in the market to adopt an animal or if they're interested in fostering or volunteering there it's a great place with low overhead and a lot lot of love.!

It makes us happy knowing we can make a positive impact on people's lives by donating our gently used clothes and shoes. Parking is easy and the people who work at the front desk and donation collections area are helpful. There is another location in Salt Lake City so we were grateful to discover this location too so that we can help more folks. My Grandson came in after being abused (physical and sexual) by his Father, he was very nervous due…read moreto talking about what is happening, the center had a big man talk to him (this in itself was hard for my Grandson, due to his Father being a man) he came out of the room a few times because my Grandson was very uneasy and nervous, saying he's not sitting still, then after all of this, they said they didn't get enough, my Grandson's speech was not clear enough, they were told by my Daughter that this would happen, later my Grandson went back to get physically checked and he also told the Doctor and Nurse what had happened (they were both Female) and the nurse said that "it was just touching" . The case is closed and he went back to his Dad and was hit due to him talking about what his Dad has done and continue to do - when my Daughter got him back from his visit - My Grandson for two days kept repeating "I can't talk". This is Not helping a abused Child!!!! In my opinion a women needs to be available to talk to a abused child, who is being abused by a man, and the workers at the center should know that a child is very scared and nervous, take that in consideration.
