It was clean but no where to play cards, do games or common space. Room had one chair and was very small. No room services I highly recommend having enough towels, coffee and glasses if someone wanted to enjoy a glass of wine on deck. Very noisy could hear the person snoring in the room next door Al g with person walking above. People were kind if you saw anyone. Pool was too far of a home The hiking was great, Charlie's was ok but not fantastic. Appeared to be missing supervision. read more

Was nice to be able get right on the ski hill from the end of the parking lot. There were 3 thermostats in bedroom so hard to keep it at a consistent temp. Toaster in room is great. When riding the chairlift over the resort it smelt of sewage. Had to find ice machine on our own. read more

ZERO STAR! No exaggeration. Extremely disappointed. Felt so unsafe. Door wouldn't lock correctly. Window shade broken. Bed spring is broken - I kept rolling into my husband and my back is sore from sleeping in curved dipped down bed. TV broken. Nice handyman called to address each issue but nothing he could do. Couldn't find a replacement piece to properly raise and close the window shade. New bed spring needed. Door is warped. TV needed a new TV box which would have taken at least an hour to fix and it was too late so we said never mind because we're checking out in the morning anyhow. We couldn't even use our own streaming because "IT won't allow it." WILL NOT BE RETURNING to this place. Can't even get money back. read more

The condo was a nice sized space for our family of four and we liked being able to ski on and off the mountains. But there was a strong sewage smell in the bathroom as well as outside the condos, which definitely detracted from our stay. read more

Misleading unsatisfactory When I called originally they told me on the phone that we could use the rain check credit on the room. And then when we called back later they said no. It's unprofessional to state different things. We came up here to use the credits on the restaurants at least and they are all closed for most of the week during the summer. We were disappointed that we were not able to use our rain check voucher for lodging (after being told on the phone we could). We also couldn't use the voucher at the restaurants because they were closed for most of the week even though the website said they were open. Overall it's a decent property with great views and access to various summertime activities--IF you are willing to drive 15-30 minutes. However, there were a couple of fatal flaws and a lot of disappointing details. The main thing was the staff and service: it just seemed like nobody had any knowledge or information about pretty much anything. And worse, some of them acted like they didn't care either. How to access local hiking trails? What is the story with the theoretical nightly campfire? Shrugs all around. There was a weird issue with the console a/c units in the two bedrooms, where the plugs from the machine did not fit into the wall outlets. Like, why were they ever installed that way? How long have they been like that? Both front desk and maintenance staff were mystified. One of the two was fixed the next day, but one bedroom had to make do all week with just a fan. You're supposed to be able to use an app called Staycast to watch your own home streaming services on the room TV, but we couldn't even change the input to the TV. This sucked because we were looking forward to unwinding with some tube every night after a hectic day of wrangling the kids around the north shore. Some pros: + comfortable beds + balcony with chairs + parking right in front of our building (A) + enough dishes etc for a family of four (if you run the dishwasher every day) Then there is my list of nitpicks that added up to real annoyance: - two of the kitchen outlets did not work - plaster spots on the bathroom walls - one tiny bar of hand soap for four people for five days? we had to buy liquid hand soap - ALL eight dining room chairs wobbled - thin ceiling/floor--you will hear LOTS of noise from your upstairs neighbor - a spray bottle and dirty rag were left by the cleaning crew before we checked in - the door peephole is at navel level...? - we got exactly five coffee filters (oversight/coincidence or were they measured out for our five-night stay??) - towels were replaced on day 2 and day 4 even though we didn't ask for it There's nothing much to eat or do nearby, except for the resort's own restaurant and handful of activities (notably the alpine slide and gondola ride to the opposite mountaintop). You will need to drive to whatever you want to do, but within 30 to 60 minutes there is a LOT, including the charming town of Grand Marais and a state park (https://www.yelp.com/biz/cascade-river-state-park-lutsen) with very nice, manageable hiking trails. read more

The staff was great. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. If I was only reviewing the employees, this would be 5 stars. Here are all the reasons why I'm rating them two: - mosquitoes. I've never had so many mosquitoes in my hotel room anywhere, and that includes a cabin on rainy lake and tents in the boundary waters. Even with all the windows shut, we still had so many of them in the room. Sleeping was horrible. - the ticketing process. They make you buy tickets online but then you need to go pick up the tickets at a special building. Can you buy tickets directly from this building? No. Does the verification process take longer than actually just buying the tickets from this building? Yes it does. So you not only spend time buying tickets online, then you need to also spend more time waiting in line, then confirming the tickets are yours. Seriously not a good process. - don't have change for the laundry. They charge you 1.50 for the wash and 2 dollars for the drier. But you need quarters and the only place to get change is 10 minutes away - right next to bette, cheaper laundry mat. - The TV worked well, but it was 20 inches. On a huge wall. read more

This place was ok. Expected more. Room was fine, quite spacious which was nice and the fireplace is a cool touch, but some things weren't great. Our shower curtain was disgusting! Soooo dirty and in desperate need of replacing (see pic). The walls are also in dire need of repair/cleaning/repainting, chipped everywhere and very dirty. Our room was located right next to where a bunch of the sewage stuff was outside so the walking path to our room smelled like literal poop the whole time. Like someone else mentioned on here, we had a lot of flies and mosquitoes in our room despite not opening the door much, don't know how that happened? I'd give zero stars to this place if I could. Lutsen itself is a truly beautiful property but the resort is beyond meh. It was storming and we were on a tour of the north going around Lake Superior. We decided to hold down the fort at Lutsen. Main reason we chose the place is they allow pets in certain rooms. My first gripe is we asked if we could possibly check in early and they said they would let us know when our room would be ready which they never did. When they say check in at 4:30, it really is at 4:30 period, no exceptions. Reason we couldn't get in any earlier than 4:30 is they said they had a wedding that weekend and they were still working on cleaning the rooms. I understand that but what happened next is beyond comprehension. Our room was DIRTY! Dirty television with smudge prints all over it and an all around barely cleaned room in general. This upset me even more because I had to wait just to get a half cleaned room. The next day I go to use the coffee pot and the pot had old coffee still in it! Yikes! That's some top-notch cleaning job we had to wait for... I did relay this to management who politely told me they would investigate and then came back and said the room was cleaned to their standards... Really? WTF is that... I was shocked. Basic blow off from the Eagle Ridge team. Eesh! Beware of Eagle Ridge Resort. They do not care about any patrons overall experience just that your bill is paid. read more

Rm 252 in building D was our unit. Before I even start the review let me say the unit is clean I just do not think it was worth the $265 for the night. I expect a Hilton at that price and feel this was more of a comfort suites. The check in staff though slower was very nice. They have a nightly campfire with live music and I can bring my pooch to. Plus they give you smores kits, how fun. Right by the check in is the hot tub and fitness area. I was excited to get checked in as we were tired. Got to our building and there was no parking in the lot by the building, we had to park 3 buildings away. There is no way there is enough for all the condos, so that was tricky. Got to our room to have the dog next door crying. Glad once in the room we couldn't hear it, since we had our dog. The room could use some updating. The bathroom & tile floor in kitchen is the only thing updated. The stove and dishwasher are old, none of the appliances match. I tried to use the oven for a pizza. Was to be cooked at 400 for 15-25 minutes. I did 400 and set it for 14 min as it made me nervous. At like 7 min I checked it to notice the pizza was looking like it might be cooking faster so I turned it down to 350. I check it at 12 min and it was charred, picture enclosed. The a/c is only in the living room area and to be honest our bedroom has windows but we are on the corner of the building right off the parking lot and main walkway to the campfire and the buildings so I can't leave the window open for a good night sleep. We were eventually able to open our windows once things calmed down to cool us down. The bed was ok, it had a mattress topper on to make it ok, otherwise I'm not sure it would be for me. But I like soft cozy beds. The hubby didn't sleep well either but he is the same At least I slept through the night and my back doesn't hurt so I'm ok with that. The shower was ok not great but it is hot. They said nothing about the dishes and what I do with them. Some condo rentals tell you to leave them some say to wash them, but they tell you. Nothing here so I just put them in the dishwasher and started it. You leave the keys in the room and lock it to checkout. He was adamant about locking the door. Tip: if you have a dog room and bring a dog bring your own bedding and blankets for the dog. Apparently you need them it's a rule. No one told us so luckily we had something, so I'm telling you. read more

I stayed at Eagle Ridge for a few nights this fall while exploring the north shore of Lake Superior. After finding the hotel on one of the discount websites, I ended up going to the hotel's website and found a better rate. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of construction going on during my stay, which wasn't disclosed in their website when I booked or in the followup emails. While I didn't mind that they were doing construction on the building next to mine, it was the lack of a parking lot for my whole stay that bugged me. My room was was in the building furthest down the hill, and since I couldn't drive down there, I had to lug all of my luggage down upon checkin and up upon checkout. Surely they weren't sold out and could have put me in one of the buildings closer to where you had to park on the road. Unfortunately the tv in my room didn't work, there was no WiFi, and I was right in front of the septic tanks, which they were pumping out the morning I departed. It smelled just lovely. Filled out the comment card in the room and gave it to the front desk at checkout, but the hotel chose not to followup with me. Ordinarily this would have been a 2 star review for me, but since this was the off season, cutting them so lame slack with a 3. read more

I planned a ski-and-stay package for the meltdown weekend of April 15, 2023. Due to the forecasted rain, I attempted to reschedule this trip on April 11, 2023. It is forecasted to rain all weekend long and the forecast today still shows 80% chance of rain all day long on Saturday and Sunday. My five friends and I are not excited to drive five hours to stare at each other while drinking Coor Light at Papa Charlies. The bands look like a lot of fun but without skiing the trip simply isn't the same. The reservations clerk at the front desk refuses to allow us an option to reschedule or provide a refund. I understand no refunds within the stated 14 days, but no rescheduling a ski-stay package in the event of rain? No reputable business operates this way. Every golf course in the world allows a rescheduled event due to rain. I'm not understanding why i can't simply reschedule until next year. Per policy, i am only entitled to vouchers for my pre-purchased lift tickets. I'm stuck with the 2-night stay in my two-bedroom condo at a location five hours away from my house. It is unconscionable to sell ski and stay packages without allowing an option for a rain check. This is not a rain check in the figurative sense either. Why would a business tell me to pound sand when i'd be more than willing to pay full price once next season comes around. It is literally going to rain all damn weekend and they simply tell me too bad so sad. read more

On my ski vacation in February, the room's heater didn't work 4 out of 5 nights. Resort was largely unresponsive, repairs failed, and there was no apology or explanation, no offer of refund or any form of satisfaction, and no follow-up despite contact from me. Noise from adjoining rooms is loud, the bed is awful, and it's COLD. This uncomfortable stay cost over $900 -- a pretty stiff price for an unheated room. Further, the "ski in/ski out" designation is completely false. They apparently define "ski in" as trudging the length of the parking lot; "ski out" means walking down a walkway until you can find a path to the ski run. I've stayed in true ski in/out accommodations, and this ain't it. The location is good. Not much else is. read more

We've stayed at Eagle Ridge several times in the past, and have always had a very pleasant stay. However, our last visit was at least 5 years ago, and the lack of quality maintenance has really take its toll on the place. Our room had dead light bulbs, the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, the bathroom vanity was severely water damaged, there was food on the floors and tables, the entrance door would not lock, and I was horrified to see the dirt picked up on a paper towel when I wiped a spill in the kitchen. It was ironic that when I tried to call the front desk about the issues, I found that the only phone in the unit didn't work! The vinyl futons in the living room only added to the feeling of being in a dated facility. When we walked in on the cleaning staff the next day, they had bewildered looks on their faces, as they didn't see anything wrong with the place. This was meeting their standards of cleanliness! Not sure why a ski resort would get rid of the indoor pool, but they did. The new pool facility is VERY nice, but It was chilly, and I was looking forward to sitting by a pool while the kids swam. I guess you can't have everything. Our visit was early summer. We had a 50% off mid-week special, and paid $200 / night for a 2 br condo that wasn't cleaned and needed LOTS of work. We stayed five nights in a condo style room. Ski in, ski out. Basis of this if is that management could care less about guest safety or satisfaction. Just a warning to anyone contemplating. I will start off with some highlights. The room was pretty clean, even though there were dirty cleaning towels in the bathroom when we arrived (mistakes happen) and pretty well designed. The bathroom was big, and there was a nice amount of storage in the kitchen. That being said, the walls are paper thin and the kitchen isn't fully stocked with essentials like it has been at other places. My main problem and reason for writing this was with the lack of shoveling and proper snow/ice maintenance in and around the building. Followed up by a lack of response from the management team. I am pretty new to skiing and this was my first use of brand new skis, boots and poles. The weather was warm and snow was melting off the roof and freezing on the walkway outside of our room that is used for both getting onto the ski hill and loading and unloading all of your gear before and after your stay. The entire walkway soon became a skating rink. We went where we were instructed to go from our room for our ski in ski out spot. There is a set of steps that takes you down an steep slope that meets up with the hill. These steps looked like they had never been shoveled this year. They were built up with uneven ice going all the way down at this point. I should also mention that the deck on our balcony was not shoveled at all either. Well, the first day, I fell walking back up the steps from the ski hill. It was like mountain climbing in ski boots. Don't forget, you're also carrying your skis and poles. Getting up and down that set of stairs was seriously awful. The second day, I turned the corner onto the walkway leading to the door to our room and fell extremely hard and fast. It was so slippery that one second I was up, and the next I was down. My ribs went right into my ski bindings. This produced an immediate large bright purple bruise. It did not feel good. Try and understand, it was the end of the day and I am pretty new to walking around in ski boots. By this point, I was over it. I called the resort and told them they really needed to do some ice and snow maintenance. I will admit I was rather angry at this point. I really couldn't believe they hadn't salted this, at the very least. The next day, we leave our room and nothing has been taken care of. After the day's end, I went into the office and explained to them that they really needed to at the very very least, salt that walk way and please shovel that set of stairs. I was way more upset the second day. When I returned to my room, there were two maintenance men dumping salt onto the walkway. It took two men to do this and they didn't even come back to shovel all of the broken ice (there was actually a lot) off the walkway. So now the walkway was partly covered in ice, and partly covered in ice chunks. On the third day, I saw some cleaning staff and pointed to the steps going down to the ski hill and asked if they could have them shoveled. All in all, the steps never got shoveled. Again, we stayed 5 days. I fell once on the hill and twice on the resort property. I asked three times for this issue to be taken care of. I wish I had taken a picture, because it was quite unbelievable. The service there in completely underwhelming and they clearly could not care any less about the satisfaction of their guests. Should I mention how much it costs to stay 5 nights in a condo there? I bet anyone reading this has some idea. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a clean walkway into your room and onto the hill. I could have forgiven the deck and the entire thing if they had only done something about my complaint. read more

Awful customer service. Their refund policy clearly states that in case of Covid quarantine, the reservation is fully refundable. Yet, they refused to provide a refund. The manager was condescending, rude, and unwilling to acknowledge the issue with the policy on their website. We are out $1000 because our daughter's class had a Covid exposure and is required to quarantine. We will NEVER recommend or use Eagle Ridge!! They are essentially creating incentive for people with the potential to have Covid to come to their facilities, if they don't want to lose thousands of dollars in lost reservations. Our one-night hotel in Duluth provided a full refund. We even offered to provide Lutsen with documentation of the quarantine requirement. read more

Way overpriced during off season. I purchased gondola/alpine slide tickets online. I get there and was told the alpine wasn't open. They were nice and they refunded me and then I had to re buy just the gondola tickets. I did that and it was the same exact price. The employees were super nice but 1. If it's same price, explain that. No need to make a person have (2) 70 dollar charges. And 2. Don't allow online purchases to be made for things that are not open a certain time of the week. The gondola is a super expensive and almost over rated activity. The hotel was ok. It was clean. Downside is the walls and floors are paper thin. You will hear everyone around you and their convos. What sucks is that everything is so far away it felt like (office, pool, etc). Nothing is connected. OFFERED AMENITIES BUT THEY WILL STAND YOU UP!!!! There is a mass text communication that goes out for s'mores at the campfire every night 7-9p. I thought that was super cool . 720p rolled around and I didn't see the fire lit so I called and asked about the process. They said come pick up the package for s'mores at the office. I asked do I light the fire? They said no we send someone with you. So we went to office and got our s'more kit. We also asked AGAIN to confirm the process. "Is someone following us out to light the fire". The answer was yes. We went out by the campfire and waited for 30 minutes. Got cold and decided to wait around in our hotel (we had direct view to campfire). NO ONE ever showed up, so damn embarrassing. DO NOT OFFER SOMETHING IF YOU WANT TO BE A LAZY POS! the next morning we confronted the person at the desk and there was no sincere apology, it was almost as if it was funny and something they enjoy doing to people and often. Save your money, it's a joke. Everything overpriced and overrated. read more

We've stayed at Lutsen before, but never at Eagle Ridge. I will say that this is definitely a step up from some of the accommodations in the general vicinity. We have paid $400+ per night before in the height of the season for a room that I thought was extremely sub-par. These rooms at least were clean, somewhat modern, decent bathroom, etc. And our room had TWO mini fridges for some reason, which was definitely a bonus. However, I will say that there were some things that really bothered usL -There is no way for you to get from the bottom of the driveway/hill where the Eagle Ridge rooms are to the top of the hill without walking up the super steep driveway or driving your car. It seems like it would make sense to make a path or some set of stairs so that people weren't walking up a very steep incline with car traffic in the dark evening. Plus honestly, some people would not be able to do that climb. Not very accessible for people with disabilities. -The room we were in was on the end of a building and there was definitely a septic smell emitting from somewhere. It was not pleasant. -The walls are paper thin. And the people above us sounded like they were letting their children walk around in their ski boots. It sounded like a herd of elephants and was not particularly awesome for old farts with no kids who want to sleep in. -The ski lift went right by the room, so we had to keep the blinds totally closed if we wanted privacy, or accept people looking into our room as they rode up if we wanted to actually see the mountain. -Also, what's with $25 for a single round trip up the mountain? Seems super petty when I'm spending a small fortune to spend a few days there and NOT ski (we were there for music). So it was fine. I would do it again. But it still wasn't great. read more

Found this deal on line, but was a little taken back by the other poor reviews I see here. Pfft! Our room in building A was clean with lots of space and nicely appointed. The view was of Lutsen Mountain was nice on our little balcony and we watched deer stroll by. There was a camp fire area that folks were taking in the night air. We checked in sort of late and were hungry. The on-site restaurant, Papa Charles, was excellent and our server really took care of us. We finished the evening in the pool and large hot tub and sauna. This too, was clean and staff were attending it at 10pm. We will be coming back. read more

Eagle Ridge had a Crowd Cut coupon for $200 for a weekend retreat at their resort. We asked for a Saturday and Sunday trip by calling and the guy that answered the phone was the biggest jerk of all time. I called at first and he said because of the coupon, they only had spots on Sunday through Thursday. "Guess what, we have jobs and more than one day off is big for productive people?" Then my wife caled and she said that there are 5 spots open on your web site and Mr. super jerk said, sorrry, Crowd Cut coupons are only for Sunday through Thursday, even though it did not say that on the offer. My wife said, well give us an upgraded cabin for when we want to go, and the jerk said, "No Go" He probably didn't realize her husband was a Yelp user that would crush them for being the worst customer service person I have ever dealt with. Whatever happened to "The customer is always right?" We were asking for fair compensation for payment already made, and the offer said nothing about black out days. I am the most fair person in the world, but when I run into complete jerks that don't make things right I may be quiet, but you will feel my pain. DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE Unless you'd like to deal with authoritarian, inept wedding coordinator and a staff that fancies itself the most powerful high school teachers on Earth. As long as you have no actual thoughts or wants of your own, you'll be in great shape. As a long time Customer service expert the way in which this staff conducts itself is a travesty. Such a cute hotel! We had a wonderful time. It was a last minute stop for us. Service was friendly, the room was adorable and it was very quiet. Very clean and tons of places to go walking and hiking. They even offered a free canoe tour for us the morning after our stay. We went on it and it was beautiful and so much fun. I would say the negatives are the rooms water pressure, and when we sat in the hot tub we got eaten by mosquitos but I would definitely stay again. Such a gem!! read more

The good news is it is clean. The bad news is all the rest. Just some of the things wrong with the room are: no telephone, so you had to text to get an explanation of how to operate the heating and cooling functions, and even with explanations, the thermostats were confusing and no written explanation of them were to be found; the microwave was not easy to use - its plug did not reach an outlet within its cabinet and therefore we had to hold it up in order to use; the screen on the window was warped, so bugs could come in - therefore we could not open the window; there were four super small pillows and no others to choose from; the stairs to the room were creaky wooden ones. For this we were paying $202 per night, and it strikes me as remarkably expensive - if this "motel" (which was billed as a resort) were charging $50 per night, all might be forgiven, but not at the rate they were charging. Stayed for a skiing weekend on a package deal, three of us. Our one bedroom unit was newly renovated and ongoing work seemed to indicate a general renovation. Everything was new and very clean. All the stuff you need to cook and eat meals is there and a dishwasher too. If you want true ski in/ski out, ask for buildings A or B, otherwise it gets complicated. We were in B. Some caveats: the wood buildings are somewhat flimsy and noise filters from adjoining units. The gas fireplace glowed only low and sadly. We were not able to get our lift tickets on check in (which canceled the ski out) although apparently this was only because they were setting up a new system. read more

This was once a nice place I'm sure. The room is big and comfy, no freezer, just a fridge. The bathroom is tiny with no tub. There is no breakfast to be had anywhere. You have to drive off site. Have heard about Lutsen for many years and was excited about our 3 night stay but they need to step up their game. They don't provide phones, WiFi links or any materials in the room about Lutsen and the surrounding area, restaurants, zip- nothing. This is a free stay for us through a rewards program. If I had paid for it, I'd really be bummed. read more

After reserving a room at the Eagle Ridge Resort, I couldn't find any other places to stay for the other nights of our trip anywhere in the area. Probably due to the fact it was Grandma's marathon weekend. Went to change the dates and was told that they don't give refunds and wouldn't give me a credit or even allow me to change nights to a different weekend. read more

We stayed in a one bedroom condo recently for a ski vacation. The room was relatively quiet for so much activity going on around us, and cleaned well. However, the kitchen is not well supplied (pots with lids that don't match, baking dish with years of stuff baked on, very minimal supplies). Also, there is an indoor outdoor pool and hot tub with capacity of 14 for all the guests to share. It was empty in the morning when I was in there swimming with my toddler, and very warm which was great, but at 4pm it was so crowded with everyone coming to relax after being on the slopes. Also, towels are provided but they were gobbled up immediately and not replenished while we were there. I would give this a 3.5 stars but I rounded up. Horrible experience i attached a portion of my letter to them, poor customer service!! Great skiing! , I'm writing in regards to my recent stay at your establishment. I stayed in room 215 in "A" building February 4th thru the 6th. The room was booked under Heidi Theede. We had a wonderful time skiing the slopes at Lutsen, weather was great and hill conditions were nice. The slopes were very well groomed and the whole atmosphere while skiing was exactly what I would expect from a ski resort of the caliber that Lutsen is synonymous with. However the room conditions were the exact opposite. We arrived around 9:30 p.m. on the 4th, checked in and retired to our room to rest after a long drive. While laying in bed you could hear every step that the people above us took. We could hear the water run in the tub above us and you could hear everything they DID! I mean everything! Then after some time we heard the water begin to drain. The water started pouring into our room thru the knot holes in the boards of our ceiling. we sprang out of bed and began franticly moving our clothes bags and gear as it was getting wet with the used bath water from above. I would estimate that about 15 gallons of used bath water entered our unit from above. I called the front desk and got an answering machine, I left a message with all the information to be contacted back. I then called the security number and talked to a maintenance guy. He came down to our room right away. He looked at the water dripping(dripping as the bulk of the water had poured in already)and said that there was nothing more he could do for us. He had brought a garbage bag full of bath towels and proceeded to lay them out on the floor only covering the water and not even making an attempt to remove the water. By morning the water had soaked into the towels. I then had to lay down more towels to gain access to the bathroom area so we would not have to walk through the dirty bath water. I truly would have expected a phone call at least from the front desk at this point as we are guests at your facility. No attempt was made to contact us. Over the night I noticed how loud the heater in our room was. every time it warmed up or cooled down the metal wood bang loud enough that it would jar me awake. The bed was very uncomfortable as it was very thin and was like sleeping on a board. In summary here is a list of the things that should have been addressed. 1.) Our unit flooding from above with dirty bath water. 2.) The dirty bath water was never removed or attempted to be cleaned. 3.) The amount of sound insulation between units 4.) The noise level of the heater in the room 5.) The drunk beating on the door 6.) The DVD player 7.) The overall customer service offered by your maintenance and front desk read more

My husband and I have been visiting this resort for at least 15 years, they have good rates and rooms are clean. Our recent trip was less than pleasing. We went up to Eagle Ridge at the end of September to see the fall colors. I am unable to walk far distances anymore, so I use a handicapped parking sticker. When we arrived we were told that we could not park our vehicle in their parking during our entire four day stay. This meant we had to walk almost 75 yards uphill- which was in addition to walking to our room. We were furious because they did not tell us that we could not use their parking lot until after we arrived- had we known before hand we simply would've booked elsewhere. I complained to the staff and they told me that they would refund our entire stay and by the time we got home we had a full refund. We will be back next year! Thank you Eagle Ridge! read more

I wanted to give them zero stars, but that wasn't an option. If you want poor customer serivice, stay at Eagle Ridge. I had the worst customer service experience with Eagle Ridge EVER!! They were completely unaccomodating for my group. I was so displeased I ended up escalating my complaint to the General Manager, and his response was basically "I am not willing to help you, too bad!". I immediately cancelled my reservation, and went to Caribou Highlands where I experience wonderful customer service and a great facility! They were exceptional. I do not have any vested interest in Caribou Highlands, only that I hope people hear my experience and don't stay at Eagle Ridge. read more

Had a great room with jacuzzi. Was clean and had a nice table and fridge too, although the freezer didn't work that well. We were given extra coffee every day when we asked and we were even given a complimentary night after we realized we missed out on a deal they were offering. The rooms were well insulated and quiet. I do wish the beds were slightly more comfortable and that the heating system was less noisy at night. Also I wish there were more vending machines but it is not the resort's fault that all the food places in the area close around 9 or 10 pm. read more

A fantastic option for a ski vacation in the Midwest. The rooms at Eagle Ridge are comfy and cute. Many come with fireplaces, balconies, and jacuzzi's, and I think they all come with a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. I love that the rooms we've had come with a little wood nook to store your skiis in and that they have lots of hooks for all of your ski gear. The ski-in/ski-out is such a treat, and unlike in CO, it's actually affordable here. We've come up for four years and love to stay at Lutsen because of the mountain view and the proximity to the ski hill and restaurants. One year Keller Williams played at Papa Charlies, meaning we could walk to see a show by one of our fave artists after a day of skiing. Fantastic! And what better way to cap off a day of skiing than with a fire and a jacuzzi? I know the vertical is only 1000 feet here, but there are zero crowds and the view of Lake Superior, the affordability and the niceties make it a great place for a ski trip. read more

We needed a room for one night and this resort has space at a good price. The room was decent yet not the best kept. The HVAC unit was loud every time it came on through the night. Also very low water pressure in the shower. We did find customer service on the phone and in person to be excellent. read more

My fiancé and I have been staying on Lutsen Mountain for the past 7 years for a weekend during the ski season this is our first time staying at Eagle Ridge. It was great not being allowed to bring any beverage of any sort to the outdoor hot tub. So wonderful after 6 hours of skiing being told we can't responsibly drink any beverage of any sort in the pool area. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else on the mountain and save yourself from being treated like a 12 year old when your a middle age adult trying to vacation for a weekend. read more
