I repeatedly emailed and called this place for a reservation for a birthday party. They confirmed it was available and asked me to send a form. I sent the form and spoke to someone on the phone. they confirmed it was available and that there would be coverage. I sent out party invitations with the time and date and booked a bounce house. Went here recently for a festival. A small, cute park literally buffered by the 134 freeway. Apparently there is a dog park on the premises. Lots of street parking and seemed safe enough. A nice brick-and-mortar stage area that can handle performances and such. Stay in walking paths if possible as the grassy/hilly areas are bumpy and lots of gopher holes! read more

Eagle Rock Recreation Center is a great place to bring your 4 legged pup to run, play, sniff and mark. I came by here a few Sundays ago, a little after 3 pm with my husband and our little girl dog. A good friend of mine had suggested that I visit the dog park here. The dog park here is actually down further from the large main field. The dog park is nice with some covering and fake grass. But there doesn't seem to be a separate area for big dogs and small dogs. Being that the dog park was a bit crowded, my husband and I decided to just stay out on the large main field and let our little girl dog play with the other dogs in the unofficial dog park (as there is an unleashed dog area here). The main field is very large and I was surprised to see so many people and their dogs run around in the unofficial dog park (but not so crowded that you can't social distance). It was nice to see our little girl have a little fun running around with a few other dogs (although I can't say she enjoyed it as much. She is the type of dog that prefers the company of humans than dogs). If you aren't a dog owner, this park still has things for others that include a baseball field, basketball court, tennis court and plenty of room to play soccer and other outdoor sports. There is a playground for children (but please note that dogs are not allowed in this area, as the sign specifies) .Unfortunately the recreation center is closed because of the pandemic. There is a small parking lot but there is also plenty of (free) street parking. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area. read more

There is an official dog park on the property, but no one uses it. Instead they use the baseball fields where kids are trying to have baseball practice. Last week while watching my younger son in the outfield, my older son was pursued unprovoked by two dogs off leash and bit seriously in his right leg. We had to go ER and he is now on antibiotics. The recreation center has been responsive, but don't seem to have the enforcement backing of DeLeon and LAPD. It's sad that our tax dollars support a fenced in dog area that very few people use and instead use an area designed for youth sports while kids get bit by dogs of indifferent owners who don't seem to care. read more

The playground was top notch for my child as we stopped on our way home and allowed the dogs to roam in the field next to the playground. this park is the worst they have zero communication. I joined a volleyball team at this park and on the day of the championship games I called them six hours before the game started asking what time the game will start at and they said at 6:30 turns out it was never at 6:30. It was at six. either way this park has horrible people they need to find a better job. read more

Yosemite Rec Center has badly defaced racquetball/handball and tennis practice courts that haven't been repaired since I asked the last two Northeast councilmans. It's an eyesore and I can't even offer youth classes on handball, racquetball, or even pickleball because the surfaces are uneven. What will it take to something about it? read more

Seems like a park. Could use some benches in the shade. Not sure if they have public restrooms. Many families seem to come here and there are swings and slides for the little kids to enjoy. By the parking lot and the kids' swings seem pretty nice but lower down, where it's closer to the freeway, there are a lot of homeless tents. read more

I was very disappointed been trying to reserve this place since February 7,2022 for my nephews Birthday. I usually like coming here. It's a little secluded park in a residential Eagle Rock neighborhood. There are tennis courts, a nice playground for kids, ample picnic areas, and four softball fields. The downside is that the grass on the fields is never really cut and peppered with holes which can lead injuries. With a little more up keep this place could be a gem. Recently (on 9/22/12) I visited the park to be greeted with signs posted that the West Nile Virus had been confirmed at this park. So much for coming here again... Lots of walkways, playing fields, tennis courts, adult exercise equipment, childrens play area, tennis courts, basketball, restrooms, group picnic areas, picnic benches, and hills for rolling and running. I went to this park for a quick little run and to check out the playground for my friend's son and also to check out the neat little outdoor gym equipment they had there. Well for running, the park is small to run the perimeter. It was about a half mile just going around the softball field along the path. it was half flat and half hill. The Outdoor gym thing was a neat idea but only like one of the machines really worked out any of the muscles. The idea was cool though. Its right next to the jungle gym for the kiddies so I might take him here. Overall, the place felt safe. But that was during the daytime. read more

I came here for my coworker's baby shower this past weekend.. This park is huge with a lot of benches and tables to throw a party if you don't like to make a mess at your own place.... This is located in Eagle Rock between Eagle Vista Dr. and Figueroa St... It's off the 210/134 Fwy at Figueroa St. exit.. I used to play bball here back in the days when I was in the bball league... They have tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, jungle gym and a large kids play area.. A lot of space to walk your dogs around and plan to exercise with some steep trails to do some cardio workout... It's pretty safe around the neighborhood and a lot of trash cans nearby so there's no excuse for someone to litter (It's a $1000 fine o_O)... I often see cops driving by just to make sure nobody is disturbing the recreation center... It's hard to reserve the picnic spots here for parties.. You have to reserve like 4 months beforehand to book your favorite spot... But overall, great park to have family time or to hang out with friends... read more

This park has a cute playground area and picnic area, as well as big open spaces for room to run. My dog loves coming here in the evenings when it's quiet and taking a run around the park. It has tennis courts and baseball diamonds and that crap as well, for people who like to exert themselves. Usually there are events during the summer months too, which is fun. Outdoor movies, fireworks, that kind of stuff. Couple of downsides; - this place gets DIRTY from disgusting people leaving their trash everywhere. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, SOCCER PLAYERS. Empty plastic bottles everywhere, trash bins overflowing... Gross. - they shut the lights off when there are no scheduled games, so it's really dark after sunset. This is a little scary when I'm walking my dog alone. I wish they would leave the floodlights in the main field on until later in the evening. - teenagers. UGH. I hate them, and their weed, and their noisy shrieking and giggling. Not much anyone can do about that, though. The cops roll by to ticket dog owners for not keeping their dogs leashed, but don't seem to care about these bratty kids ruining the picnic area. read more

I have only come here on weekdays after work because it's conveniently located (to me) and it's really close to the 134 freeway. There has always been plentiful parking on the street and in their lot. I haven't stepped foot into the rec center itself because the sole reason I come is to play tennis. There are only three tennis courts but usually there is one open. However, I have to deduct one star for not having lights at the tennis courts. It seems like most LA City Parks tennis courts don't have lights so during daylight savings time, playing tennis after work is not an option here. read more

However it is not easily accessible from the street parking along Eagle Vista. Moreover the steep pathways present a challenge for wheeling kids around in strollers. Overall the park seems reasonably maintained. There is ample parking at the top. Restrooms by the softball fields, however, are in poor condition. read more

Ever since my kids were born I have always come to this park. There's several baseball fields in the lower end of the park on the upper side of the park there's a basketball court (outside) and four tennis courts. There's also an inside basketball court that's always open to play. Just outside of the basketball center is the playground very clean gated so kids can't run out or dogs run in. This location is great for parties or bar b ques there's plenty of space at this park for jumpers and they have benches everywhere in case you don't bring chairs. read more

I have a huge soft spot for ERRC, I played softball here for years and even coached a baseball team here a few years ago. The park itself is really pretty, there's tons of space to have parties and stuff, and it's relatively big. I bring my dogs here to run around sometimes and let off some steam. I don't really like to come here and run myself because it's not big enough for me and I feel like a hamster running in a wheel. It's a little lacking in some love to the grass and such, but i still love to come and lay a blanket down and relax. read more

Growing up in Eagle Rock for the most part of my life, Eagle Rock Recreation Center has always been part of my time here. I took tennis lessons here from a private coach. I played basketball as part of their recreational leagues. In grade school, my football team would always play on the fields here. The park is a nice place to have a walk with friends and family. When it comes to the tennis courts, I wish there could be lights installed so people could play at in the evening on the cooler nights just like at Yosemite Recreation Center. Other than that, there always seems to be some event going on at the park. It's a great gathering place for people and brings the community together. read more

But it's 5 stars for being an ideal location for an intimate lunch or a clandestine rendezvous in nature. This park has deteriorated dramatically and has become a homeless tent city with RVs surrounding it ,I have witnessed a steady decline in this park as I used to walk my dogs here on a regular basis,I had birthday parties for my kids here ,recently though I feel sorry for anyone trying to use the facility's here,as there are none the bathrooms are continually closed and have been replaced by stinking porta potties ,the homeless don't even use these iI have found needles and human feces around the bleachers and the picnic area,really disgusting,it is time our councilmen and the park did something to make the park usable again ,the bathrooms have been closed for months,check it out before you try to have a party here or you may be very disappointed! read more

Love this spot. I'm currently in a basketball league here, the court is a little tight, but it has a great indoor feel to it. The walls open up in vintage style and you feel like you are in "Hoosiers." The have glass backboards, and well maintained nets. Down below there is an outdoor court, and many fields for various sports and activities. While the fields can be a bit hard and uneven there is a vast expanse to sprawl free.
