If your last trip to MVR was more than two years ago; then you have got to return! The noise ordinance is midnight for the rest of the campsite other than the late night loop which is 2 AM (or at least that's when things got quiet). Our campsite had great shade but wasn't on the water (late night loop 104) but was near the bathroom which I appreciated. The showers and toilets could be cleaner but I feel like there is only so much they can do with the amount of lake swimming and sheer amount of folks using the restrooms. I definitely recommend water shoes not only for the lake but also the showers. Although I brought supplies for making French press coffee, I ended up getting an iced late at the coffee shop in the main office. We had some of the breakfast buffet (carton eggs, sausage, hashbrowns) and it was all pretty good. We signed up for a glow tube night trip on Friday and a float trip on Saturday. Both were fun but I don't think I'd need to do 2 float trips in a weekend in the future. The resort drops you off at the tubing drop site up the river and you end either at the resort or a mile up the river where they'll bus you back. It's pricey but it does include a lot of amenities and is definitely a one stop shop for tubing. I think next year we'll look into the cabins or pods. ;tldr it's pricey but you get hot showers, toilets, coffee, and busing for the float trips built in. Late night loop is rowdy so if you want something more quiet, consider avoiding this area.

On Memorial Day weekend they have several things to be a part of. They are very good to patrol the campground to make sure all is going well. They pay very good attention to the weather and if needed will encourage you to move to higher ground to avoid having issues with the vast amount of rain. It is very close to the river and the state park where there are trails and also trout fishing available. We have not complaints about PVR or the people that take care of the Resort.

For example, the coffee machine wasn't working well, and they had us a brand new one in 30 min. When the Internet went out, they brought someone out that same day to fix it! The customer service was excellent! We rented a pontoon there - great experience! And they have so many activities and amenities included for all ages. For example, a free ice cream party by the pool- complete with a clown that did balloon animals. We were definitely not bored. Perfect for families. Definitely recommend! Great place to stay!!
