I'm a longtime Marriott loyalist, but this stay at the Marriott Vacation Club in Branson, Missouri, was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with the brand. Short Version: If you are staying for a short time period avoid the "timeshare treatment" and fees. The housekeeping and room size won't make it an enjoyable experience. Book a true hotel that can help make your stay comfortable. I booked a smaller room directly through the Marriott website for a 3-night stay. Knowing the room type, I specifically called ahead to confirm we would receive daily housekeeping. The representative assured me we would get what they called a "daily tidy" service. After the first day, we returned to an untouched room. When I called the front desk on July 17, 2026, I was told they only offer every-other-day service and that the "daily tidy" description was "misleading" (their words). They clarified it was simply a limited clean every other day. At that point, it was too late to change anything, so we made do. The next day we returned around 3pm hoping to nap and shower before evening plans. The room was exactly as we had left it. At the front desk, staff explained they have until 4pm to service rooms and prioritize checkouts over stayovers. While I understand operational realities, I was surprised and frustrated that nothing had been done by mid-afternoon. The same associate I had spoken with the day before rolled her eyes at me, which only added to the poor experience. No one seemed to view this as an issue worth addressing. I asked if they could at least bring fresh towels to the door so we wouldn't have to vacate the room. Shortly after returning, we received multiple phone calls from the front desk and a housekeeper knocking--disrupting our attempt to rest. When the housekeeper arrived, she only had one towel initially. She later returned with towels but no hand towels or washcloths. By then it was too late for any meaningful tidy. The room also had a persistent musty smell, likely made worse by damp bath and beach towels hanging to dry. As non-timeshare guests, we expected standard Marriott service levels rather than reduced attention. We didn't stay long enough to use laundry facilities or most amenities, but the pools appeared well-maintained and the game room was clean. Unfortunately, those positives couldn't make up for the core failures in housekeeping and guest service. Over the past few years I've been shifting more toward Hilton properties, which have felt more dependable and consistent. Every time I give Marriott another chance, I end up disappointed. This was the lowest-bar experience I've had in a while: I simply wanted basic daily tidying and towel service so the room wouldn't smell musty. Even my younger children, who don't travel with us often and loved the big pool, thought the overall stay was disappointing. I waited for a manager follow-up or even a simple morning check-in from the front desk, but nothing happened. It seemed the 4pm deadline was all that mattered. You can see the Branson Strip (Hw 76) but you don't hear the commotion. There is a great game room for kids, air hockey, fossball, ping pong, billards, shuffle board, con hole and others. All free. Also there are daily and evening activities for free or minimal cost. I like the location near wal mart and price chopper, since rooms have kitchenettes or full kitchens. The only negative of our stay was the quality of pillows. They were very flat and uncomfortable. You may want to bring your own from home. read more

This has been a good stay. We visit here frequently. It's the only place in Branson we like to stay. We had very friendly interactions with Earl and Brittany who were cleaning rooms and delivering clean linens. Very friendly and welcoming. They were at 100% capacity, so we're busy but still took great care of any needs. We had fun joining in some of the resort activities, such as Friday evening sangria and salsa. First let me say this is a beautiful property. TLDR; First floor rooms are MOLDY and staff is not responsive. We arrived 8/23/25 after booking via Priceline. We had reserved a studio unit which is basically like a regular hotel room with a small kitchenette. Our room was on the first floor of building 5. Upon entering we noticed that the room was a bit musty and damp and chalked it up to being in the basement level. We figured after the ac ran for awhile it would be better. The room was also quite dark and had only 1/2 window and no sheers. We left and went to a show and came back to a stronger musty smell. We noticed a dehumidifier unit and set that to maximum for the overnight. Between the AC going on and off and the dehumidifier going on and off we didn't get much sleep. The next morning we woke up swollen with allergies and went to the lobby to ask for assistance with our room at about 8 am. The woman at the front desk was very nice and assured us she would have it taken care of while we were out. We came back around 3 and when we opened the door were hit with a very strong moldy smell. Our message light was blinking and the front desk had called to let us know the filters had been changed and the curtains hung. No. No they had not. I went back to the front desk and spoke to Erik the manger. (Should not be in the service industry) I explained that no work had been done and voiced my displeasure that we received such a terrible room. His response was that "if the work had not been done ...." Excuse me? He actually said that to me, as if I'm lying and really wanted to spend my vacation dealing with this. Unreal. I left and an hour later when we were changing for dinner someone came to the room. The young man upon entering commented on the mold smell. We left him to his work and during dinner received a text stating that the water would be shut off the next day but they'd give us bottled water. No. I actually had to FIGHT to get our room changed. Unbelievable. The new room on the second floor was what we had originally expected. Would have been a great stay if I hadn't had to waste a day fighting with the "manager". We received NO credit nor discount for our inconvenience, truly unacceptable level of service. read more

We just spent 3 nights at Mariott's Willow Ridge in Branson, Mo. With it being December, the outdoor pools and such were not operational, and we did not make use of the indoor pool, so my review is not based on those things. Our room was on the fifth floor of building 2. There is an elevator so accessing the upper floors is easy. There were plenty of luggage carts available. Our "room" was a one bedroom apartment. Full kitchen (full size fridge/freezer, stove/oven, toaster, microwave, 12 cup coffee pot, double sink, dishwasher, pots/pans, plates, utensils, etc) A large dining table with seating for six. Living room with couch and chair and TV with Cable and several streaming apps that you can sign into with your own credentials (also a DVD player which we did not use.) The king size bed in the bedroom was very comfortable! Another TV in the bedroom. The bathroom was very nice. Typical hotel bathrooms have terrible lighting for applying make-up, but the lighting in this bathroom was very bright and they offered a magnifying mirror. The tub is comfortable and large for taking a relaxing bath! The shower operated very well, with a normal shower head plus a hand held shower wand. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash supplied. Lots of towels and washcloths. This place was super clean, extremely comfortable. If I had to find a negative, it would be that they charge $15/day for parking which seems ridiculous. We would definitely stay here again. read more

From checking in to checking out, this property goes above and beyond all others! We have stayed several times and as always we look forward to returning. The grandchildren love the activities, the game room and the pool, especially. The activities are fantastic! We did a picture frame and bracelets, mermaid/pirate trivia and bath bombs. The best part about this Marriott came this morning when we were due to checkout at 10am. Our adult son woke up with a migraine and was very sick. My husband and I had to leave to be back to work on Monday. When I called the front desk they were able to offer a late check out so we could look for a different place for our son and his family to stay. When I arrived at the front desk to check out, Angelina offered that they could hang out in their movie room and that they would turn off the music to make him more comfortable. We checked with the other property (another well known brand), they had nothing to offer. No use of amenities until 4 pm check in. They were not hospitable at all! So my son and his family are hanging out at the Marriott Willow Ridge where they were offered use of amenities and a quiet place to rest until their room is available at another Non-Marriott property. Our group of 4 stayed from late May - early June 2024. There is lots of parking. The staff is friendly and the concierge, Holly, was helpful and knowledgeable. She assisted us with tickets for 2 shows and an attraction too. Our building #1 4th floor room was noisier than expected. We could easily hear people talking and walking in the hallway. The ceiling transferred every step from those above us, we could recognize the music being played next door. Thankfully it would all end prior to our turn in time. The front desk staff did say they would have someone ask them to be quieter (anonymously on our behalf) if we'd like. The buildings elevator needs maintenance (not always working and slow/erratic). The location is close to everything. Having a full kitchen and washer/dryer is fabulous. The bedroom with the window facing the pool has some issues that will be pointed out when we check out (didn't want all 4 of us to repack to change rooms). The carpet tack is exposed at the room/bathroom tile transition. The shower ceiling showed mold on our 2nd day. And the seal on the shower door needs addressing too. We thoroughly enjoyed shuffle board, corn hole, foosball, air hockey, and grills. And please, since there is a butterfly friendly milk thistle garden, pull the weeds and apply some water. read more

I booked a 4day stay here for my anniversary. The grounds are clean and well kept and the lodge itself was nice. Our room was clean although it did smell a bit funny. The TV kept cutting out but that wasn't a big deal. The problem started with the balcony upgrade we bought. We paid extra for a balcony with a view but when we got our room it was on the ground floor. There was a patio outside the living room and several large sized air conditioning units outside the bedroom. No balcony. When I called the front desks to inquire about the balcony upgrade that I paid for she said the patio "is the balcony"and that it was "just on the first floor". I got scammed so if you stay here don't even bother with the balcony upgrade. They don't honor it. read more

Another great stay in Branson this week. Our third time to stay here and have enjoyed all three trips. This time we have 16 members of our family staying in 5 x 1 bedroom villas. All the 2 bedroom villas were sold out, as far out as last June, when we booked. We have been enjoying the ice cream social, the indoor pool, activities, wine/cheese night, and the smores. I've been staying at Marriotts most of my travel life. This is near the top of worst stays ever. The room looked nice when we arrived, and pretty nice amenities. Then we go to bed and all hell breaks loose. The TV has weird lights on the set, the super thin walls, you can literally hear people using the bathroom next door. We had a constant noise coming from the refrigerator and the fan in the bathroom all night long. The we had the AC kick on and you could feel your hair blowing back it was like you were in a windstorm in bed! I've never had worse sleeplessness in a Marriott hotel ever. You have to remedy this Marriott- really bad. And last thing, no sign anywhere at all on the highway telling you where this place is. We drove completely around this hotel, not one sign that says Marriott or Willow Ridge lodge. I had to wing it, and just go in and ask. read more

When checking in, the front desk was very informative, answered all my questions, personable, appeared very knowledgeable, and most of all, acted genuine instead of some bored robot going through the motions. I couldn't have asked for a better check-in experience. This is Marriott. I think you pay for what you get, and this resort was very relaxing. As a member of Worldmark by Wyndham, Marriott or even Hyatt Vacation Clubis, Marriott is a very solid step up. Worldmark with their pushy sales and a internet fee at many of their resorts is insulting. At this resort when I asked a question about show tickets, he said most all of them are pushing timeshares...or since timeshare has become a dirty name, a "vacation club." The pools were nice and clean. Good snacks by the pool, shuffleboard, ping pong, nice outdoor pool, frisbee golf, a big indoor pool, several Jacuzzis, foosball, pool, and air hockey. The resort is nicely laid out so no long walk to anything. Everything in our unit was working, and the beds were comfortable. read more

They are very comfortable vacation apartments with full kitchens, dining area, living room, balcony, laundry, etc. they update them regularly. We had a mostly delightful stay at the Marriott Willow Ridge Lodge last week with my entire family! Our 4 cohorts stayed in different suites - two one-bedrooms and two two-bedrooms. The rooms were spacious and included everything we needed (detergent, ample beach towels which dried quickly on the balcony, lots of extra linens for the pull-out couches, etc). Beds were SUPER comfy and when we all 16 of us gathered in one space for a meal or to play games, it never felt too cramped. The pool was a big highlight for us (with so many kids in our group, that's no surprise!) and we took advantage of the grilling area for a few nights for dinner. We were also pleasantly surprised at all the mostly free extras that the resort offered, such as nearly daily ice cream socials ($1 per very generous scoop), s'mores night, morning water aerobic or stretching classes, craft activities for kids, movie nights, themed evenings, etc. We ended up hanging out at the resort more than we had initially planned but really enjoyed our time spent here. When we looked at pictures of the resort online, it seemed like it was in a more secluded, woodsy part of Branson. Surprise! It isn't far from the main stretch, but the resort is a nice, quiet, classy respite from the overall cheesiness of Branson. We would definitely stay here again if our family ever decided to reunite in this part of the country again. There were a few noteworthy negatives that knocked this down from a 5 star experience: -Check-in was a strict 4 pm. This is probably the latest, most inflexible check-in time we have ever encountered. My sister - who made the reservations months and months in advance - asked for all 4 families to have rooms close to each other. The team was mostly able to achieve this, but weren't able to confirm anything until actual check-in time. So if you are coming with a big group (it seemed as though that was a common thing here), don't be surprised if you can't be guaranteed rooms close to each other. Check out is also super early - 10 am - but they were able to give 2 out of the 4 of us late check-outs (noon), so that helped. -We also had a few issues regarding....creatures...above our room. Squirrels, perhaps? Doubtful it was rats as we were on the top floor, but there were SOME animals making all sorts of noise and running back and forth and scratching above our bedroom ceiling for two nights. To their credit, maintenance tried to resolve the issue, but the noisy critters were back at it a second night. Secondly, there was an overnight leak in my brother's family's bathroom which made for quite a mess. Once again, maintenance worked their hardest to resolve the issue in a timely manner, but it was a little off-putting that two rooms had to deal with those issues during our stay. read more

First, this is a timeshare resort, so don't expect all the services you'll find 8n a hotel. We were in a 1 bedroom unit. The majority of these units, 4 out of 6, gave the parking lot. If you're assigned a ground floor unit, that means you'll get headlights directly in your unit at night, so try to stay off the ground floor. Studio or hotel unit rooms have the same drawback. This was a full one bedroom with a kitchen, washer/dryer in unit, living space with a large TV, private bath and master bedroom. There is also a patio/balcony to enjoy the evening air or coffee in the morning. If you're familiar with the Marriott timeshare system, this was originally part of their failed Horizons family brand. While they have up scaled many things to full Marriott quality, the bathrooms still leave something to be desired. Only one sink in the vanity and a tub shower combo instead of a separate tub and shower. The resort has some great grounds with both gas and charcoal grills, a whiffle ball field, tether ball, basket ball, 9 hole frisbee golf course, fire pit for s'mores a large family pool and hot tubs. Top notch stay. The facilities were extremely nice and well cared for. Tucked away from the traffic it's got some nice views depending on your room. Easy access to all the Branson fun. I stayed for a week and it was extremely comfortable, clean, and inviting. The pool, hot tub, and general area were a welcomed get away from everyday life. My cousin and I stayed here as a gift trip last week and it was like a dream! The resort is spacious and beautiful with a variety of rooms and suites. We stayed in a villa, equipped with a full refrigerator, microwave, and one cup coffee maker. The toiletries offered were top of the line and I never missed mine. The beds were very comfortable as well. The resort offered daily activities such as s'mores makings, hot dog grilling, wine tastings, and live music. The resort had both an outdoor and indoor pool. The pool was amazing and the hot tub was the perfect temperature. This was easily one of the best places I've ever stayed and I'm hoping one day to get the chance to go back. read more

Well, this review won't be very long because I have not stayed here since 2009 which was one year before I started YELPING......LOL!!!!!! Here is what I wanted to say that I have not really seen in the other reviews......while this resort is located in a prime location to visit everything great about Branson.....there are no ELEVATORS. I specifically remembered how crazy it was to arrive back from a great evening of being out on the town to only return to the joy of having to climb many flights of stairs to get to your room. When we stayed we were initially on the 2nd floor but we requested to be moved to the first floor. Now, besides all of this......the resort is really a great place to stay. As I said earlier it is almost within walking distance of the Branson "STRIP" and I loved how it was so quiet which I greatly appreciate because I really value my sleep. There was a Panera Bread location right down the street and there was also a couple of fast food joints nearby as well......when I say nearby I mean walking distance and that is always a plus. I believe there was a great wine tasting location nearby as well but I can't remember exactly how close it was to the resort. Room not ready until after 4 pm. Parking lot was pretty empty but it is the Tuesday after Labor Day so I kind of get it. Then my key did not work so I had to load back up and head to the front desk to get it remade. They did respond promptly and followed up. Rooms are well appointed but it did have a faint smoke smell. No restaurant of any type on site and I just don't understand that not even breakfast. In town for business for 2 days but I think I would rather stay at the landing next time. Just overall ok. Might make sense for a week with family but then I think it would be really overpriced for the offering. read more

Wow. Loved this place. Our king villa was huge and everything needed was provided. Great having the ability to do laundry mid trip. The facilities were very nice as well. Pool and jacuzzi were very clean. There were indoor and outdoor game rooms. We love ping pong and were happy that we could play in/outside. The gym was small, but adequate. S'mores night is always a nice treat. Service, as friendly as it gets and helpful too (except for concierge). When I asked him for a restaurant recommendation he referred me to a restaurant book. Um, I can always use Yelp, but wanted a locals opinion! Location, perfect for us. We stayed the week prior to MDW and the room was a true bargain. Only change I would recommend, eliminate the amount of single use plastic in the rooms, ie the garbage bags in every can. read more

We're MVC owners. We learned we really need the beach on vacation! The property and staff is MVC quality through and through. Just didn't realize environment around town would be so carnival like. Only reason took a star away. Some shows were great but no real plays. Mostly music acts. Saw SIX it was great. Love how Branson honors their vets! read more
