The website said there was complimentary breakfast, and upon our arrival we found it did not have breakfast. Second, the owner greeted us with profanity and very much obviously under the influence of some kind. Next, while we were swimming the owner brought his dog into the swimming pool area and left it while telling us to keep an eye on it. The dog proceeded to pee on our child's shoes and jump onto the chairs with us. When we reported the dog to the owner, he acted like he didn't know what dog we were talking about. He put the dog up and came back to start arguing with our 13 and 10 year old continuing the profanity. This might be a good hotel for adults, but definitely not family friendly. The beds were similar to a couch pull out mattress, loud and extremely uncomfortable. The coffee maker did not work in one of the rooms as well. We feel like due to false advertisement on breakfast availability, the owner should have credited the cost of breakfast for the two mornings we had to go purchase it somewhere at the very least.

We were able to park conveniently on the street and then walked around town - it is a LOT of walking up and down hills and staircases, so be prepared for that. Our room was cute and quirky (a fake fireplace/space heater) and we did have cable TV and free wifi. At breakfast we met with other guests. For breakfast it was mostly do-it-yourself with pre-packaged breakfasts like frozen waffles but there was also a fruit smoothie drink, a yogurt parfait, and some seemingly fresh pastries. We're glad we came in the "off season" and we had a great time and definitely recommend the place.

Facilities are clean, they have great Weber kettel grills, a full kitchen, pots pans, blender, toaster, etc. (Clean what you use) They even gave us ice out of their personal refrigerator for bourbon! They have a boat ramp and slips. Outside power for battery charging. 15 mins from Long Creek Marina. Mill Creek Resort is a great choice of lodging at Table Rock Lake.

We booked the first-floor suite in the New Orleans Hotel for two nights. I have stayed at this…read morehotel many times over the years, and it was fine. Last night, there was a party with a live band (particularly terrible drummer BTW) right under our room until after midnight. It was so loud in our room that we couldn't watch a movie, talk to each other, or sleep. We could only put in earplugs and wait for it to be over. I could still hear all the lyrics through the earplugs, that's how loud it was. We are leaving a day early, even though we have already paid for tonight's room, because last night was so miserable. The hotel has effectively made this first floor room unusable on nights when the club right under it is open (W-Sa), and we were certainly not informed when we booked at their full price rate that this VERY LOUD party would be happening basically IN OUR ROOM UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT. Just ridiculous. I would not book the New Orleans Hotel first-floor suite again and would not recommend it to anyone else. As far as what the hotel should do to improve this problem: do not rent this suite out on nights when you are having loud parties right under it, and refund my money for this unusable hotel room.

It's a little secluded, which we really liked. You do have to drive a little to get to some of the more touristy areas, but we knew that, and we thought it was nice. It was lovely being away from the more trafficked areas at night and sitting on the deck looking at the stars. We were there for four nights, and our check-in was completely remote and easy. We received detailed instructions via email, including where to find the key. It was very private, which was perfect. The rooms are not cleaned during your stay, unless you call and request it, but that is all explained in the provided instructions. There was a phone number where we could call if we wanted fresh towels or anything else, but we were fine using the same ones, so we didn't need to call for anything. This is important because, while there is an office, it was always locked and we never saw anyone there. You have to call if you need anything. The photos on the website look gorgeous, but they also look like they might have been taken a long time ago. The place could do with a little updating, but it was clean. The bathroom is tiny - just barely big enough for a sink, toilet, and shower, but no tub. If you want a bath, you have to use the jacuzzi in the middle of the living room/kitchen/bedroom (kind of awkward placement, to be honest). Our only maintenance issues were minor. The blinds on the front window were broken, so we just left them closed while we were there. Also, the toilet stopped flushing after our first day. The chain inside the tank broke, so we just had to take the lid off and flush it manually. We could have called them to fix these things while we were there, but we didn't want to take a chance on them coming at an inconvenient time, so we just left a note when we left.

We would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quasi-rustic rural getaway. Customer service was great. Very hands-off. Spoke with the owners via telephone a couple times... exceptionally friendly. River was fairly high while we were there. Access to the river was a little tough - bank was super muddy and slippery. Use caution. We found quite a ticks on us and our equipment, so pack heavy duty bug spray. Bring your own firewood - we couldn't find much in town or around on the property. Overall, good stay. We'll be back.

Not a place for those getting away and having a fun weekend. Nowhere that I could find on their website was their list of rules unless they are buried deep. We rented two cabins for our group and I'll start with the condition. Our cabin had a wasp nest upstairs and we killed several. The air conditioners, while fairly new, are inadequate to keep the cabins cool. The other cabin had no hot water. Stairs leading up the porch are bad. Now for the rules, we managed to break them all. 1. No pets. I agree not a place for them however you better hope a stray doesn't show up or you will be blamed for having them. We were and we had none. 2.Quiet time between 10 pm and 8 am. This means you better be inside your cabin at 10 and not on the porch or at a picnic table talking. We broke this one because we were enjoying the evening and conversation with friends. We weren't loud and you couldn't hear anyone outside anyway because of the noise of the ac. 3.No driving on the grass, granted we did break this one but we went down a gravel road then followed the tree line to get to the river across the field. In our defense there was already a car there when we arrived so thought it was ok. 4. No excessive drinking. What is their definition of excessive? We were called on this one because we had a couple of beer boxes sitting on the porch after we left to canoe the river for the day. 5. This one grosses me out. We had to remake the beds EXACTLY as we found them. Makes me wonder if they change the sheets between guests. Yep, we broke this one because we stripped the sheets then put the comforter back in place. Our group will not be back, after being told all of the above we felt like little kids being reprimanded.

The bed is more comfortable than any hotel. It is pet friendly, so we were able to take our dog. The owners' dog, Harley, welcomed us to our cabin. (Harley seems to run the place.) While we had all of the modern conveniences, (satellite TV, DVD, VCR, stereo system, refrigerator, coffee and tea bar, running water, toilet, etc), we were also able to hike, grill steaks and build a campfire. The surroundings are beautiful. Very peaceful and rejuvenating. We will be back!
