We were so proud. When our children arrived, we did exactly that. We enrolled our son when he was just 4 years old, and now at 9, the progress he has made is incredible. Over the years, he has developed strong focus, concentration, and discipline that carry over into all areas of his life. Watching his growth has been truly rewarding. We were so impressed with the program that we also enrolled our daughter at age 3 in the Saturday classes. She is now 5, in the regular program, and doing very well. Both of our children have advanced to higher belts and continue to grow in skill and confidence. This school has had a very positive impact on both of them. Grand Master Chung, the owner, brings exceptional passion and deep expertise to every aspect of Taekwondo. He is amazing with the children. The head instructor, Master Michael, is truly outstanding--one of the best instructors we have ever seen. He has an incredible ability to teach Taekwondo to anyone. I made the HUGE mistake of signing up on the first day for 35 classes that cost 3 payments of $150 (THANK GOD I didnt sign a contract for 6 months or a year). So now im stuck paying for something that is not worth $150. I wouldve rather gotten a full membership at equinox for what the price is here. Not saying all ilovekickboxing locations arent good, just this one probably isnt the better of the queens locations.

She cares a lot about having the right attitude and right mindset, which to me means much more than being able to do a great kick or a nice punch. Belt tests are given every 3-4 months if students attend classes consistently, and kids feel accomplished and rewarded with every level up. The tuition is very reasonable, a fixed monthly charge with multiple sessions each level can attend every day in the week. Staff members are super friendly and many older students are there as helpers which set great examples for the younger ones. My son can't wait to be a helper when he grows up! They have had the potlucks I was looking for and a great attitude around enjoying life, food and kirtan. They are now pioneering a Laughter Yoga program in the area. This yoga is derived from the old school--highly contemplative and mellow, and yet physically challenging. It features small, intimate studio spaces and lots of personal attention. Edita can be teaching in a mixed level format, wherein absolute beginners could practice with experienced intermediate level practitioners. Brigitte is alignment-oriented and you will wind up finding your edge in the most fundamental of poses!! There is no room here for the before-class intimidating, competitive, show-offy vibe like I see elsewhere ... There are no rococo dharma talks ... and there are no teachers paying attention to just the future yoga rock stars ... The expiration date on the class pack may not work all the time with how often I could get to this studio, but they are home-practitioner-friendly.
