I'm confident in saying that Six One Six is by far, one of the best vision care facilities I have ever been to. I came here because they were one of the few places that took my horrible vision insurance from a previous job I had. I finally moved companies and now have exceptional coverage, yet found no reason to switch providers, regardless of the abundance of in-network and closer vision options to me. I have never experienced any issues regarding care, appointments, communication or billing in the 4 years I've been a customer. In fact, I've experienced exceptionally personalized, professional and authentic care from day one. I've had the absolute pleasure of being Dr Shelby Strick's patient from the get-go and am consistently comforted by her attention to detail, assurance and easy-to-understand explanation on everything I'm experiencing. Allie is usually the one that takes care of me with picking out eyewear, fittings and reviewing my bill. She is truly exceptional...with her patience, support to ensure you're getting what you need within budget (but still looking hot in your specs) and most of all, how approachable and friendly she is. Not true. They don't even fit my head (too small). Brand new. My frames were worn as they were my favorite sunglasses. I am furious. Hailey tells me they should have collected the money up front but for whatever reason they only collected fees for one pair of glasses when I brought them in. The first frames came back in about 4 weeks and when I asked about the sunglasses I was told it would be another 2 weeks. When I went in to pick them up, I had to remind her I needed to pay or she wouldn't even have collected the money. This is all very suspicious. (I'll come back to that.) SELECTION & SERVICE: My husband has been on the hunt for an additional pair of sunglasses and he found Ray Bans here that were just what he had in mind but wanted them in polarized lenses. Amy ordered them and they were in within two weeks time. I knew what OP frames I was looking for and while they had them in store, not in the smaller sizes I needed and she ordered those as well, in addition to a couple of others I wanted to consider. Wylie was particularly helpful in offering expert feedback on how the frames fit once the ordered items arrived. It is early days; I haven't had the lenses made yet but I anticipate a great outcome on those as well. Service plays the key role on why we went in to begin with when I called to ask whether they carried Oliver People's frames and I was able to talk to someone who could answer my questions. That is increasingly rare these days so kudos to them for making it easy. PRICE POINTS & OPTIONS: They offer 50% off each additional pair of eyeglass frames when you buy one so I'm buying at least two pair, maybe a third, Add in the pair my husband purchased, that is three or maybe four pair of eyeglasses here because not only their selection is good but their service is great. (Even if the parking lot made it difficult for me to get in the door. I'll come back to that.) If you're on a tight budget, ask the optical specialists about some special low cost frames, they have them in a couple of tucked away cases, that with prescription lenses added can come in at maybe as little as under $150 total. ACCESSIBILITY: Nicely accessible interior; all on one floor, ample room for path of travel for buyers who might use wheelchairs to look at the displays. Accessible seating at fitting tables. My husband reports the loo is accessible too. The rub is the parking lot in this relatively newly built (sometime in 2000s) mostly medical or medical adjacent service provider buildings strip complex is neither ADA (law) nor Idaho Building Code compliant (Accessibility Chapter 11) for parking. For this building strip there is only one, non van accessible, spot at the far end of the strip. Given that is the only curb ramp location, if you are unable to step up over a curb, it will between difficult to impossible to get in the door. MY SOAP BOX: I said I'd come back to this; Accessibility law and code for parking responsibility of whomever owns the parking lot but 36 years after the laws and codes were established (1990) it is mind boggling this is wrong and it prevents disabled people from equal access to this good business. (Yep, I have a dog in this hunt since I have had multiple sclerosis since college days.) The owners might think of that and put some pressure on the lot owner given we with disabilities spend money too.

We had already been to two other places in town to purchase eye glasses from and walked out. Maybe it's because of our age, we just expect better customer service and as we've experienced lately, it's just not there anymore. The front desk greeting was fair to Midland. It felt like they were bothered that we showed up. We were told to look around at all of the frames and someone would be with us shortly. As we perused the displays, they really don't list the prices on their frames, just code numbers. We finally found a couple of frames and then we were greeted by their sales representative. Then here comes the craziness. To get all of the additional options for your eyeglasses, my cost was $990 for one single pair of glasses. Insurance did its job in getting me these glasses for free, but seriously folks, $990 for glasses? I bought a no nonsense pair of frames. They weren't even a famous brand name I recognized and they were $320. That just crazy, it's just plastic. Well, we were finally done. Now the bad news. It's going to take them 3 weeks to get my glasses made and sent to the store. That's way too long. Everywhere I've ever shopped in the past for eyewear has only taken them about 1 week to turnaround and get them back to me. 3 weeks is way too long to wait for eye glasses in my humble opinion. I'm on the fence here. This was our third stop for eye glasses. We almost walked here too, but we caved in and just wanted the madness to stop. We just wanted eyeglasses, nothing more, nothing less. I really can't recommend this facility. I wasn't really impressed at all with their service team or their selection of eyewear. They only seemed to carry overpriced name brand frames. And don't think you are going to find something really splashy or something trendy with a lot of color here. This was all middle of the road boring frames. Just because we get older doesn't mean we don't appreciate style and color. Parking was easy, this shop is in a medical building on the first floor. Get your wallet out, this place is very expensive if you don't have great insurance coverage!
