I'm confident in saying that Six One Six is by far, one of the best vision care facilities I have ever been to. I came here because they were one of the few places that took my horrible vision insurance from a previous job I had. I finally moved companies and now have exceptional coverage, yet found no reason to switch providers, regardless of the abundance of in-network and closer vision options to me. I have never experienced any issues regarding care, appointments, communication or billing in the 4 years I've been a customer. In fact, I've experienced exceptionally personalized, professional and authentic care from day one. I've had the absolute pleasure of being Dr Shelby Strick's patient from the get-go and am consistently comforted by her attention to detail, assurance and easy-to-understand explanation on everything I'm experiencing. Allie is usually the one that takes care of me with picking out eyewear, fittings and reviewing my bill. Mine were progressing quickly and interfering with all facets of my daily life from computers to driving. In choosing my doctor I needed a person who was an intellect in his profession. It is not natural to me to allow someone to start carving on my eye with a sharp object. He answered all my questions well and tolerated my quizzing him. I could see he was focused on solving the problem. Add to this a lovely personality. The guy laughs, smiles, and is just enjoyable to be around. He listens. He even answers his own office phone if no one is available. Which tells me treats his office as a team and all his patient's calls are important to him. He has good availability; I didn't find myself on a waiting list just to get an appointment. My surgeries were scheduled within a week. His office stayed on top of my insurance. Now it is all done and my eyes are better than new. Having my eye site back is a gift. Colors are now vibrant; I can see details far away. Dr. Merkley was referred to me by one of his peers, which tells me he is viewed within his own circles favorably. Said no thank you as my former optometrist always does it and there are no problems. When Dr. Nielson saw I had a floater she sent me back to the technician for a retinal screening. She also assumed I had eye mites because of a little crusty flake in my lashes. Wanted me to get a prescription that cost $623.00. No thanks, use Tea Tree oil preparation, $30.00. To top everything off, when I picked up glasses the left eye correction was so bad I could not focus on anything. Was told to wear them continuously starting the next day for a week. I did that and it helped somewhat, but could not read through lower correction. I did not go back to have the lenses checked as I did not have that much invested. Year-old glasses are just fine.

I took in RayBan frames to have the lenses replaced and they lost them or one of the employees took…read morethem. Hailey tried to tell me these cheap frames I got back were the same ones I took in. Not true. They don't even fit my head (too small). Brand new. My frames were worn as they were my favorite sunglasses. I am furious. Hailey tells me they should have collected the money up front but for whatever reason they only collected fees for one pair of glasses when I brought them in. The first frames came back in about 4 weeks and when I asked about the sunglasses I was told it would be another 2 weeks. When I went in to pick them up, I had to remind her I needed to pay or she wouldn't even have collected the money. This is all very suspicious. I think they lost them or decided to take them for themselves. I am furious Hailey would even try to pass the cheap frames off that I received back. Very upset
