Wow, did we make the right call sending our two kids to camp here this summer. Selecting a summer camp for your kids is a very big decision and it's really important to do your homework and get it right. Having grown up in East Brunswick most of my life, I was nervous at first when my wife suggested we send the kids to Eagles Landing. I had attended Lake-Vu Day Camp for over seven summers and it was the best time of my life. I couldn't even imagine sending my kids anywhere else. Back then, Eagles Landing was Mill Road Day Camp, and quite frankly, Mill Road didn't hold a candle to Lake-Vu. But a lot has changed in the past few decades. For one, my beloved Lake-Vu Day Camp is now called *LakeView* Day Camp. To me, that is history that you just don't mess with. Something about that simple change turned the camp into a complete stranger in my mind. This name change apparently happened in conjunction with new owners purchasing the camp from the Levine family, who were among the most revered local celebrities in East Brunswick history. That the Levine's were no longer there was a concern for me. (Stick with me. I'm going somewhere with all of this.) My memories of Lake-Vu back in the '80s are some of the best memories of my life, and to be clear, I have nothing bad to say about the new LakeView. Our neighbors send their kids there and are very happy. However, when we spoke to others in town about where to send our little ones, there was a clear bias in favor of Eagle's Landing. And that's when I learned that the owner of Eagles Landing was formerly the Camp Director of the original Lake-Vu, who I vaguely remembered. He and his wife have an impeccable reputation in town, which was clear from all the great feedback we received from our neighbors and friends about how they've transformed Mill Road Day Camp into the beautiful Eagles Landing that stands today. So my wife and I met them briefly over the winter for a tour, and I immediately got a great vibe from both of them. It was also clear that a lot of time, money, and passion had been put into all the upgrades and renovations across the grounds. I was sold. We decided to take the plunge and signed up both kids for the summer. We also talked my brother and sister-in-law, who also live in town, to take the tour, and their three little ones are now attending as well. Likewise with our best friends across town who also followed suit, signing their two older boys up for the season. The rest is history in the making. Camp is now fully under way, the grounds are absolutely beautiful and more modern than anything I would have expected from a camp, and most importantly, our kids are the happiest I have ever seen them in their short little lives. What impressed me most was the orientation day where I got to meet all the staff during a full afternoon where all the kids and parents could swim and take part in all the camp activities. It was obvious that a very thoughtful screening process was used to select the staff, most of who are still young themselves. I could not feel more confident in the care and attention my children are receiving this summer. To run a camp of this size, you really have to know what you're doing, and you have to love what you do with tireless passion and energy. The decision to send our kids to camp here at Eagle's Landing is proving to be one the best and most important investments we've made on behalf of our children. Knowing how many of my favorite memories are memories of camp, I am so happy to see my kids making a whole bunch of memories of their own. I know they will cherish them forever. read more

Eagle's Landing Day Camp has a policy in place that restricts a parent's access if he/she did not enroll their child and the other parent didn't give permission. I enrolled my son in 2017 & 2018, but last year my ex enrolled him and purposely left me off. She even went as far as changing the password. I was not allowed to pick up my son nor was I allowed to use the camp during the week on my days. I couldn't even pick up my son if there was any time of emergency. Even after I got a court order, the staff & one of the owners (Barry) treated me extremely poor. They wouldn't even allow me to take my son's camp bag with his wet clothes. This happened to me in 2019 and it's happening again to me in 2020. This morning I had the pleasure of speaking with the other other Ruth Ann. She was no bettter than Barry last year, and even called me by my brother's name who hasn't used this camp in many years. From my perspective, both Ruth Ann & Barry put on a fake act. Both of them know me, but act like they don't. I have no idea what my ex told them or the staff, but as a single father I shouldn't be treated in a negative manner. At the end of the day, they will treat you like gold if you show them the money but if there's any issue they will treat you like crap! I wrote a review last year, then a staff member reached out to me and confirmed that what I was saying was very true. I would not send my child to this camp! Save your money and go somewhere else with your child(ren). read more

Worst place to send your kids. They act as if they are so friendly and caring when it's all just an act. They have a scheduled pick up time with a 15 minute buffer according to the website but if your two minutes late....they will call everybody on the call list. My grandson had a wonderful experience at Lakeview Day camp. Ruth and Barry will say or do anything to get your money. They don't give a damn about the kids. They have someone that counters the negative reviews to keep you from knowing how bad they are. read more

LOOK NOWHERE ELSE!!!!!! This is the absolute best day camp in NJ! My two children have been going to Eagles Landing since they were both 5 and they are now 14 nd 10. It is their second home and they count the days from one summer until the next. Eagles Landing's property is pristine and huge with activities in all areas! From swimming and the spray park, ropes courses, ziplining, go karts, ax throwing, ninja course, and sports to baking, arts and crafts, cooking, ceramics, STEM, maker space, drama, dance, and so much more! RuthAnn and Barry the directors, and Hanna, the assistant director, work tirelessly and have a fully devotion to make this camp the most amazing experience your children can have. They are incredibly generous, welcoming, and caring and within a minute you feel like part of the camp family! They always have time for parents and campers. They put their heart and soul into this amazing camp year after year and it shows in the staff they hire who are so great with children throughout all the divisions and make the summer so fun and memorable for the kids. There hasn't been one summer yet since 2015 my kids haven't cried leaving their counselors and friends on the last day! ELDC is fantastic. Barry and Ruth Anne clearly put the welfare, safety and interests of the campers above all else -- our kids come home every day with new stories of fun and adventure -- the staff is wonderful at making sure that everyone is enjoying each and every day. We are lucky enough to live not too far and we are able to drop off and pick our kids up -- even with hundreds of campers the process is smooth and easy. If I could give this a zero star rating, I would! This has to be the worst place to have your children. They of course put on a great presentation when you are considering the camp and are quite convincing, but once your child is under their care things change. If your kid has any special needs they pretty much dismiss it, which they call "inclusion". If your child is tired and would rather opt out of an activity during the day, they get reprimanded and pretty much get bullied into participating. My child was overwhelmed at times and did not want to return because of the unfair treatment as some of the other children (maybe because their history with the place) would get a pass and pretty much would do what they wanted during that time. The kids witnessed unfair treatment, not only amongst them but within their staff. Most of the staff were children themselves and were treated as such by their superiors. At times getting into screaming matches because they (the adults) do not know how to properly communicate with their staff (again children). I will not be sending my child back to that place. read more

I love ELDC it's an amazing camp Barry and Ruth Ann are A+ directors. It is very fun especially the new go-karts and the ropes course. The food is scrumptious too. The new chef Anwar is very kind and a good cook. I would definitely recommend this camp for your kids and teens or even for a job. read more

Eagle's Landing Day Camp is amazing! The camp has only been in existence for a couple of years but prior to that the owners Barry and RuthAnn owned another camp. My kids went to the previous camp for 7 years which was 5 minutes from my house. When Barry and RuthAnn announce that they were moving to a camp that was 25 minutes from my house we didn't hesitate to say we are going with them! They have been amazing to my family. This coming summer will be my older son's 10th year with them and my younger son's 9th year. They have grown up in this camp starting from 1st grade for my oldest and Kindergarten for my youngest. My older son was an LIT last year and will be a CIT this coming summer. Now he gets to give back to other kids the wonderful experience that he and his brother got from their counselors every year. They have learned to swim, played sports, love to bake, gone on great trips, made lifelong friendships, learned to be independent and have had the most amazing time every year at camp. Barry and RuthAnn treat every kid and their families like they are a part of their family. There is no better, warmer, loving camp than Eagles Landing Day Camp. read more

We recently held an amazing corporate family picnic at the camp for over 250 people and it was really fantastic! Their planning was flawless, their customized event/activity flyer and photo booth back drop was superb, their food, activities, facilities, pricing packages, etc. were excellent! As a child I was privileged to go to a high end day camp for 8 years. To this day I tell my parents that it was one of the best things they ever did for me. Now with three small children of my own, I want them to enjoy the same memorable experience that I had. After just one open house at Eagles Landing, my wife and I (and the kids) were immediately sold on it. First the staff... These are the most enthusiastic and caring people that I have come across in a long time. You can tell that the staff loves their job and it is what makes it all the better for my kids. There were at least three staff members in tears on the last day of camp hugging my kids goodbye. (Barry and Ruth Anne get an A++ for hiring the staff). Next, the facilities are kept spotless and well manicured. You would think you're at a golf course with pools, water slides, and rock walls. The camp has an abundant amount of activities for everyone. Food... your children will eat well and have healthy choice options. Swimming... the instruction is invaluable and the free swim is something the kids love at the end of a hot day - especially when it is followed up with an ice pop for dessert. This is not your run of the mill school summer program that fails at trying to be a real camp. This place is 5 stars in every way. And accommodating is not even the word, almost too accommodating if you ask me. The staff works 3 times as hard to take into account everyone's abilities, special needs, food allergies, etc. My children ask weekly when they are going back. My wife and I simply could not be any happier with the choice to send them. read more

This is by far we'll worth every penny. My son begged us to send him for another week because he loved it so much. The facility is clean and the staff is attentive and amazing. Their attention to safety is exceptional. Every staff member had a smile on their face when I dropped my son off and when I picked him up. Best camp by far for many reasons but the biggest reason... The owners and staff are like family to each other and this trickles down to the children. Each child there is a person who is cared for, given a safe environment, and made to feel as if they are part of the family as well. The owners Barry & RA have created a place where you child can be themselves while creating awesome memories they will have forever. Don't send your kids here. The Specialists are forced to drive the kids from their home to camp. The routs start at 7:30 in the morning and dive in rush hour traffic to arrive at camp by 9:00. They have been working in some cases 2 hours before they start their day, some will be in the hot sun all day. They work for 8 more hours then drive the kids home for another 2 hours. Just think 12 hours on the job for less than minimum wage. I wouldn't want a tired bus driver driving my kids. Surprised they didn't have a accident or hurt someone yet. They do this because they are to cheap to pay normal wages. All their buses are registered in other states to cheat NJ insurance companies. The food is sub-par and some of the staff have gotten ill from the food. read more

Our nonprofit ran a fundraiser at Eagle's Landing this past September. All I can say is, WOW. Owners Ruth Ann and Barry Wasserman run this camp with impeccable precision and attention to every detail. They were instrumental in planning and executing our event which went without a hitch. Their staff volunteered their time and did so with pure heart and kindness. The grounds, including the kitchen and rest rooms, are immaculate and remained immaculate throughout our event. Our attendees were able to avail themselves of all the great activities on the grounds including the awesome mini golf and the exciting zip line. It is impossible for me to find even the most insignificant complaint. This camp is a stellar place for kids to come to camp and it is equally as stellar for your corporate and/or fundraising events. I have no hesitation in recommending Eagles Landing Day Camp - you will not be disappointed. read more
