Here is my email exchange with them it's so sad I would have sent a LOT of money with them if only they had better customer service. I sent in a customer support because the tracking said delivered but I didn't get anything. First email so possibilities are package theft or misdelivery - if you don't have package theft issues, then you want to talk to your neighbors, local post deliverer, and your local post office. for the first two, a package description may help - brown cardboard, 14"x12"x1", with "Fragile Vinyl Records" printed all over it. for your local post office, they have precise GPS coordinates of where your box was when it was scanned as delivered, and if it shows misdelivery they are obligated to attempt to retrieve. I would love to get this info for you but they only share it with the recipient, in person. If they act like that's not a thing, they are either lazy or undertrained and don't hesitate to ask to speak to the postmaster... thanks & please keep me posted! chris 2nd email my reply Hello, I want to express how disappointed I am with the level of customer service I've experienced. I don't think it's reasonable for your customers to have to jump through these hoops, especially when most places would simply ship out a replacement rather than push the responsibility onto the customer. Chris needs to brush up on his professionalism game. I ordered a record that was lost by the post office. When I emailed him about it, he began asking if I would call my local PO, or barring that, to go get in my car and stand in line @ the PO, and start asking questions about my missing record. Sorry. This is NOT my job, and I'm not wasting a Saturday morning @ the PO, tracking down a record that Chris shipped and sold to me. I have a job. That is his responsibility. Even the most lack-witted shabbaroon that runs a business knows that. My one error was to engage at all. I should have left it at "please refund the sale". He was a complete creep about it, from the outset. Always a smart remark, and an unprofessional attitude. Finally the LP showed up (due to his persistence, to his credit), and I quickly notified him before he processed a return. Instead of "Thanks, glad it was resolved", he scolded me for not doing more to phone and visit the PO, which is difficult for me. And again... NOT MY JOB. It's a shame, but I doubt he'll take a lesson from the experience. If you're in the Missoula area, I'm sure it's a pleasant store to drop in to. Just be aware that if you mail order, they'll expect you to do the legwork in the event that the package goes missing. read more

Came to visit and tried to shop local and found this amazing gem. I cannot remember the owners name to save my life but damn what a cool dude. We talked as I searched through the huge selection of vinyl and was actually familiar with the record stores where I am from. Lots of amazing records, both new and old and even found some highly sought after used vinyl which is what I like to find. Best record store in town. Not only do they TWO FOR A DOLLAR bins (and by bins, they mean almost everything at floor level), but they have several FREE piles. Yes. FREE RECORDS. And these are not just your grandma's Bing Crosby Christmas records. I found a Henry Mancini in the free pile, and tons of great digs in the $.50 bin. Even Joe Cocker's "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" (IMO one of the greatest records of all time) was just half a dollar. I found some awesome records with some great breaks in those bins. I will definitely be back. Also, the woman at the counter was very helpful and totally a digger herself. When I arrived she was listening to the new Wax Tailor record over the PA. I'm in town for work from Seattle, and this place felt like home. Best crate digging in town, hands down. read more

If Earcandy were a woman, I would've lost my boyfriend to her months ago. A bout with a broken air conditioner and Arizona heat made me give up on records, but anyone who still loves vinyl shouldn't even be reading this review because you already know about Earcandy; you've all already spent many Saturday afternoons there, digging away. CD selection is great and vinyl selection is better than I would've ever expected to see in Missoula. Definitely worth popping in, especially on Record Store Day. Order 122875 .1 x Ike & Tina Turner - On The Road - 12" Vinyl Picture Disc. The sent has been a long trip across Europ before arriving at destination. The price for sending the disc has been expensive, we could thought the sending could be quicker and more direct. The plastic envelop is opened from every parts ( broken ) and the disc is not safe in. Very curious sending. I will never buy something by your shop. Outsider from Ann Arbor, MI here. On a northwest adventure I stopped by Missoula and wanted to dig through the local piles of vinyl. Very glad I did. Totally satisfied. There's a TON of good stuff here. I could spend a whole day going through their crates, but I showed up 30 minutes before close. Still left with a good 10" I didn't know I wanted and a 12" I came for. The music is sorted well and the inventory is both deep and broad. It's a good mix of used and new vinyl and CDs. The walls have posters for shows I wish I could have attended and other neat props, like a Beatles tour teamster jacket. It's exactly what I want a record store to be. Awesome that the person at the store knew of the band Throwing Muses too! Some stores think I woke up from cryosleep from the 90s when I try to describe what I'm looking for. I'll be back if I make my way out west again! read more

best rec store in town easily. tons of vinyl. great for all types of music, but they seem to keep up really well with indie/punk new stuff. didn't skimp on the new 7" selection. some great finds in the used bin as well. lots of listening stations. also wanna give them cred for promoting shows. I would have to say this is my favorite shop out of all my quests, I've been to fatbeats, turntable lab, sandbox automatic, Seattle, Portland, Boston,Utah, Nyc, and many other shops in random places over my years collecting. I've been a customer for ten years and they always find what I want or have what I'm looking for. Always great customer service and insane selection. I've found hundreds of records through earcandy that I couldn't get anywhere else, now with the online store I can still feel like I'm at the shop but I do miss the interaction. Amazing customer service from this place. Parents ordered me a record from them online back in October as a Christmas gift and gave it to me Christmas Day. After taking it out of the box and removing the plastic wrap, I noticed the corner of the jacket was damaged in shipping. Messaged them seeing if there was any way to get a replacement even though I opened it and it was past the 30 days return policy. I got a reply back from Chris with some amazing help. They not only agreed to send me a new jacket to swap out but also payed for shipping both ways. The new jacket came to me prefect. Definitely won me over as a customer. read more

I would not recommend this place for appraising/purchasing your old records! I had a box of, 30 or so, old records after my mother passed away that my brothers and I didn't know if they held any value or not so I took them to Ear Candy to be evaluated. After two weeks he called me and said there was only one he wanted and I could come and pick up the rest. A week went by and I went down on Saturday to pick up the records. John, the owner, was unable to find them and stated that they were "utter garbage" (which I didn't appreciate) and didn't have any value but he would locate them and give me a call. Four days went by with no phone call (unprofessional) so I called him. He said the records were thrown away and he would give me $15 for compensation!?!? (Insulting!) How am I supposed to know they were truly thrown away or don't have any value? He didn't go through them with me or give them back to me. Just threw them out. The whole experience was very unprofessional, poor customer service and zero sensitivity to someone else's belongings. Even if there was no monitory value in the records, they didn't have the right to throw them away without my permission! Unorganized, cluttered, insulting, inconsiderate and a complete lack of customer service is no way to run a business! I will never set foot in this place again. read more
