This is the only commercial bookstore in town. Save yourself the trouble and the heat stroke. Go to one of the local places and support local. Lots of cute cafes and book stores throughout this city. And this one's a little too commercialized and it's always hot inside, they will tell you they don't have control over the air conditioning climate system.. but when you call corporate they say they do. read more

I went a couple of days ago, and the staff was incredibly rude and yelled at me about my kids being "unsupervised." My kids were being quiet, and 2 of them are teenagers, and I had just gone outside the kid book area to look at the kid bargain books, which was unfortunately with the adult bargain books. If they were in the kid section like they are in a lot of other Barnes and Nobles, I would have been with my kids. I won't be going back. The employee made my children feel really bad, and there was no need. They weren't making a mess or being loud. My 4 year old was playing with the puppets, which made the employee mad, but honestly, if I was right next to him, I would still let him play with the puppets. Barnes & Noble - Bookstores Near Me - Missoula, Montana

I absolutely love books stores and Barnes & Noble, but unfortunately this location's staff members are extremely Loud talkers to each other and makes it very difficult for customers to relax and find a book. Last time I was in, four of the staff members were rearranging tables and no matter where you went in the store you could hear them loudly mocking customers and talking. It's a shame we couldn't go back to the old days of having respect and peacefulness, while shopping for a good book. read more

Smaller B&N, but none the less it is suffice. We spent a little over two hours here. The nice thing about small towns is that there is always sitting room at these locations! Went in looking for one thing walked out with a bag full.... I love books so this place is my kryptonite! I'm looking forward to going back this weekend! My daughter wrote a holiday card to the manager asking if she could have the Taylor Swift cardboard display, once the B&N store was done with it. The holiday card was dropped off with the employees in the front of the store. My daughter never got any response, one way or the other. It would have been nice to have at least received a "thank you for the nice card" email from the manager, as my daughter did put her email address in the card. We also have the B&N membership, which we signed up for in the SF Bay Area, having recently moved from there. So, it would have been easy to look up our contact info. As for the others that work there, I have never had anyone ask me if I needed help with anything the few times I have been there. The B&N employees seem like nice people when checking out, but likely get the ignore the customers vibe from the manager. I recommend Fact & Fiction in downtown Missoula, the Book Exchange on Brooks Street or order on Amazon instead. read more

I absolutely LOVE Barnes & Noble, but I have difficulty at this particular store-(Missoula, MT). I am handicapped and find that stores with mats or buttons that I can roll on or push *to open the front doors VERY HELPFUL! Unfortunately, this store has neither mats nor a button. I have to rely on the helpfulness of shoppers or folks walking by to help me open the doors. I SO wish that they'd help folks like me out! read more
